Time's Forever Frozen Still

An Autumn child, Archelaus hadn't yet experienced the warmer seasons. Of course in the North it may have been more bearable though here in the South the boy was feeling incredibly sluggish and overheated. Had he known what a snowman was, he would have thought himself at risk of melting like one and potentially shared this fact. Instead though the uncomfortable child wandered around hoping to find somewhere that might relieve him at all from the weather. The trees gave some shade, though certainly not enough. As it stood, so uncomfortable himself, Amalia had absolutely nothing to fear, caught up in his own world Archie hadn't really paid much attention to the changing scent or even the attempts to cover it up with lavender. He'd even cast the thoughts of his father from his mind, and certainly hadn't decided whether he would talk to Amalia about the fact he was back. Did he want the truth on the matter? Why he had left, why he wasn't here now? On he plodded attempting to find some cooler area to settle, the tree that offered him the most shade, a pool of water that might be somewhat refreshing to dip his paws into. Each spot he found wasn't quite satisfying enough though, he wanted snow, a harsh winter anything to get away from this warmth. |
