"Speech" thoughts actions

The north was wonderful, still much cooler than anywhere else in the lands they'd been wandering. There was no snow in this place, although there was plenty in other locales nearby, and it was pleasant if nothing else. There were many herds of elk here, coming to graze on the lichens and mosses that grew upon the rocks, as well as the tall grasses. They congregated in numbers that made her mouth water at the sight, and the femme eagerly made a grab for the nearest weak link. As always she took only that which would not be needed, a sickly, injured old cow who most likely was saved many a year of suffering. Her joints were creaky, they were impossibly loud as the ungulate fled. However, it was hard to escape Caia when she was hunting. Not many prey did, she had become quite adept at catching food in her youth. Not to mention being almost monstrous compared to the natives of this land made it easy to spook the creatures.

With the summer sun beating down against her spine and shoulders, she gorged placidly upon her meal. The cow had grown fat on the summer bounty, though her meat was a little tough. Not that it mattered, food was food was food. No one should argue with a good meal. The galactic darling was content here, without the danger of execution hanging over her head like a guillotine, or the loss of her brother aching in her chest. She'd forgotten what that felt like, and at first the complete lack of tension in her body had been taken as illness, an impending bout of vomiting. That had been a funny sight, no doubt, her frantically racing away from their most recent den site to find a place to throw up in peace. She chuckled quietly at the memory.

It was a lovely day today, a good day for company and good conversation. Rolling onto her back, she folded her forepaws neatly against her chest and let her hind legs stretch against the warm dirt beneath her. Amethyst orbs would soon find themselves closed, a soft smile creasing her features. She hadn't bothered to clean the blood from her coat- a task for later, when she wasn't so gods be damned comfy. A small yawn would pry her jaws apart; tongue curling back as her lips peeled away from her teeth with the strength of it. Nothing was better than a day like this, it was a simple fact.
