Walk | Talk | Think

Miksa stopped the second the girl informed him of walking passed the location she had spoken of, blinking in a bit of surprise. Had he really been that unobservant to walk right by it without seeing it? The dark points over his eyes drew together slightly as he turned his head, following the gesture of her tail, to spy the opening of the mining cavern that she spoke of, realizing then that he had indeed begun to walk by it. It seemed like an awfully strange place, definitely something unnatural and rather worrisome for it, but his current company did not seem to see anything at all wrong with it. Maybe she was more of the adventurer type like Shtiya had always been. Maybe his brother would have done better in this setting than Miksa was doing.

She spoke of whatever was inside as if she had some prior knowledge to it, but to Miksa's ears it was all gibberish. Humans and human stuff? He could not possibly begin to imagine what she meant, but he could see how excited she grew just at the thought of what might be hidden further in. Yep, she definitely reminded him more and more of Shtiya. He probably would have run right inside without giving any thought to it either.

Already she was backing up, scooting closer to the entrance of the tunnel and keeping an eye on him to see if he would follow. There was a little part of Miksa that worried about continuing to go along with her - there was no telling what was inside that cavern, and staying outside of it in the open felt a whole lot safer - but just letting her wander along inside, alone, around things and remnants of creatures that might have been harmful to her seemed even more irresponsible. There was a visible hesitance in his look but it resolved into resignation as he stepped forward, intending to follow her and fall into step when she would lead them.
