The boy had been following his motion as Bjorn stalked the blue-eyed woman, it seemed, for he'd turned to face Bjorn before the older male had charged. Bjorn accepted the change with complete calm even when the boy rose to meet him as Bjorn brought his weight down, disrupting his momentum and drawing minor bruising on the bottom of Bjorn's chest between his forelegs from the contact, mostly mitigated by Bjorn releasing his breath in a sharp hiss to tense his core muscles to better take the blow.

Rather than scrabble uselessly at the boy's shoulders, Bjorn sought to hook his oversized forepaws around the boy's neck where it met the shoulders - his right forepaw around the boy's left side and his left forepaw around the boy's right side - in an attempt to pull the front side of Aster's lower neck and upper chest toward the underside of Bjorn's chest in a bearhug, partly with the intention of balancing and partly in an attempt to make attacks much more awkward for the boy, but mostly in the hopes that Bjorn's greater weight would force Aster's head back at an unnatural angle. As he did, he attempted to partly kick, partly slide his hindlegs back into a sprawl to put his body at a much more severe angle, seeking to force his weight forward and down onto Aster's neck and chest as well as making his hind legs too far of a reach for the pup, so that the boy's swipe for Bjorn's left hindleg would fall short.

But the boy had a bloodthirsty streak it seemed, seeking to avoid Bjorn's bite by aiming one of his own at Bjorn's throat. Simultaneously with his attempts to grab the boy and throw his weight onto Aster, Bjorn arched his neck and shoulders to tuck his chin snug against his throat and, seeking to arch his back as well to increase the angle of his head, he attempted to bring the top of his skull - above his eyes and between his ears - down with brutal force directly to the front of Aster's gaping muzzle - with the angle Aster was attempting to come in on, mostly the right front side - intending to use the heavy, hard bone of his skull to smash in Aster's front teeth and deal a painful blow to the boy's sensitive nose (counter). Sure, if the blow struck the way he hoped it would Aster's teeth would cut severe gashes into the top of Bjorn's head, but the giant wasn't afraid to get scarred and bloodied for what he wanted, and hopefully he could use the boy's upward motion as well as Bjorn's own attempt to drop his own weight downward to increase the damage to Aster's face.

As he did this he was careful to continue to uphold his body's natural defenses in addition to countering his enemy's movements. His rear legs were spread slightly wider than his hips' width for balance, and his hocks fully extended and stiffened against any attempt to push against him. The toes on his oversized paws were spread for increased traction and balance, his thick claws digging deeply into the earth to grip and keep himself grounded. His tail lashed constantly near the level of his spine to balance him, and his back was rounded slightly for strength and leverage. The bulk of his weight was balanced between his sprawled back legs, and his attempted contact with Aster, so that with three points of contact his balance could be better maintainced than with two. His pale hackles bristled along his shoulders, back and neck, and his shoulders were hunched forward to bunch the skin and fat of his neck. His chin remained tucked against his throat to protect it from ravaging jaws, and his weak eyes were narrowed to slits while his ears pressed down to protect them.

BJORN vs ASTER for MAIM (complete blinding)
Round 2/4? 3? (the judges say they'd prefer to do no more than three rounds because it's only a maim, not a DM, and siege and all that, but if you would like an exception you can ask them)

OOC: Actually at the time of the siege (beginning of summer) Aster is not even six months old so no, he isn't 45". He was born in the last month of winter, so if you add that to spring and generously assume another month on either end on you still only come out to six months and he'd be nowhere near his full height... which is the assumption I was working on in my first post. According to this site here wolves do not reach their full skeletal growth until a year old. It's the suggested link for pup development so that's what I've been going off. If you have any questions feel free to skype me and I'll do my best to clarify, I know this post was probably a bit messy.
