The results of her attacks were nothing but disappointing. Her toes merely scraped skin, her shoulder struck her opponent’s doughy bread basket (not even earning a satisfying 'oof!'), and her teeth missed the tendons in the fae’s back leg. It was all very, very disappointing. Sindri’s bite was perhaps the most successful, her teeth having dug into the meaty outside of Aern’s left thigh. She removed her teeth from her opponent’s leg and immediately set about unleashing her second wave of attacks.
Sindri sidestepped twice to her left in the hopes of dodging around her opponent’s left hind leg as she attempted to dive under Aern’s belly. She then forcefully swung her hips further to the left in the hopes of straightening her body out and lining the left side of her chest up with the forward facing portion of Aerndis’ inner right thigh. This move doubled as an accidental attack. With Aern curling to her left, this moved hopefully brought the fae’s left shoulder within striking distance. She sought to slam the meaty outside of her left thigh into the meaty exterior of her opponent’s left shoulder. Bruising was the hoped for outcome.
Unbeknownst to her, these forward/sideways moves saved Sindri from the majority of her opponent’s attacks. Having moved out of reach, her right hind paw escaped completely unscathed. Aern’s attempt to place a paw on Sindri’s back earned her moderate success—the paw landed at the base of her spine where her back met her tail and as a result, she’d later develop very mild bruising. Given Sindri’s sidesteps and her attempt to dive under Aern’s belly, Aern’s teeth missed completely.
Her defenses remained strong; eyes narrowed, forehead furrowed and ears flattened in an effort to protect her face. Along her spine, Sindri's hackles remained ridged. Her head was held low while her tail tucked in an effort to keep it from Aern’s jaws. Her knees were bent slightly and her stance was wide; and her toes splayed, nails digging into the ground for added traction. Tension ran the length of her body.
Going with the downward pressure being placed on her rump, Sindri allowed her haunches to fold just far enough for the paw on her butt to hopefully slide off. She then, using her now coiled back legs, kicked forward, intent on using the built up energy to fuel an attack. If the slant to her back wasn’t enough to displace Aern’s paw, her kick forward hopefully would given how unlikely it would be for her opponent’s paw to get a grip. Sindri sought to close the short distance between herself and the inside of her opponent’s right thigh quickly. Her intention was to slam the left side of her chest into the front of the inside of Aern’s right thigh, just behind her kneecap.
To complete her attack, Sindri’s head tipped to her right so that her opened jaws were parallel to the ground as she once again sought to cripple her opponent. Her head snaked her right as she reached out. She sought to sink her upper teeth into the back of Aern’s right thigh at the midway point between her rump and hock and her lower teeth several inches directly behind that on the inside of the thigh. Sindri intended to drive her jaws closed in the hopes of trapping the Achilles heel and severing it.
