"What a pity," The Praesidio offered and in response Valentine growled in annoyance. Indeed it had been. All he'd received for his efforts was a child. "Indeed," he rumbled, his voice low and laced with disgust. His interest piqued at the mentioning of an intruder. "Oh?" On the heels of a lackluster siege, the chance to toy with a captive was oddly appealing. However, there was something odd about the way the guardsman delivered his news. Kyarst spoke in past tense, so had he dispatched the intruder? At face value it was a bit harsh, but he didn't know the details. Perhaps she'd threatened the Praesidio's nephew. Pausing to regard the Armada, Valentine asked curiously, "What did you do with her?" |
