It was a joy to see her mother rid of the depression that she had been suffering from in the past season. What miraculous timing as well! It was so soon after her discussion with her brother which only reminded her of the postponed trip to the North. For now, the thought was moved aside as her mother had other plans for the pack. They were to hunt and bring their catches to one pile for a feast. Varda had never participated in a feast and couldn't recall if Threar ever held one. Nevertheless, her mother's health was surely something to celebrate and so she would participate in this new event.
Since hunting was the field she held the most experience in (and the only field), capturing prey would be no trouble for her. She stuck with small creatures as they were easier to hunt down with only one hunter to do so. After deciding what was a decent amount of food to bring, she would be the first to arrive after her mother's howl with two squirrels and a hare proudly dangling from her jaws. Once her prey was plopped onto the pile of the other recently caught rabbits, she took a seat close to her mother. She really couldn't hold in her delight. "It's wonderful to see you've recovered."
