A chuckle bubbled up in his chest when he saw the bark dangling from Charm's muzzle. Everything she did seemed a little bit more adorable than it would be if someone else did it. He willingly let her push herself up against his chest. It was something he had grown used to and had come to expect from her. He thought it was strange at first, but now that he saw that she clung to everyone she met he didn't feel quite so... awkward about it. He beamed down at her and his tail wagged when he heard that she was settling in fine. Seeing her join the pack so easily made him hopeful that others could do the same. She seemed to notice the bark stuck to her muzzle and he smiled as he watched her try to shake it off. When that attempt failed her eyes flew back up to his with panic and his gaze softened. Hercules chuckled and replied, "It's okay, Charm. I've got you." He carefully took the piece of bark between his teeth and pulled it off of her lip, the offending piece of foliage coming away easily so he could toss it aside. Letting his orange gaze come back to hers he smiled and added, "There. You're all safe again." Being around her felt so refreshing after having to focus and work for long hours. She seemed so care free and he almost envied her a little for that. |
