Nose to the ground, Valentine hunted for trinkets worth scavenging. Something had happened here once. What exactly, he hadn't a clue, but he was sure he was standing on a site that once held significance for someone. Strange objects and broken remnants littered the plateau. Perhaps some kind of ritual, some kind of ceremony, had taken place here. Something had to have motivated those creatures enough to make them drag all this junk out here.

Something metallic peeking out of the dirt caught his eye and the brute made a beeline for it. He scratched at it with one forepaw, digging his claws into the dirt around it in the hopes of unearthing it. Each time his nails hit the surface of it they skidded off without leaving so much as a nick behind. After several attempts at prying it loose Valentine changed tactics. He put his back into it and began to dig with both forepaws at one side of the small, smooth object. His curiosity would be satisfied one way or the other.
