The longer he scratched at the thing the more he became convinced it was nothing of value. He was looking for something to wear, something shiny and eye-catching. This thing appeared to be flat and was beginning to remind him of a giant piece of bark. It was metal - a tentative lick to the surface confirmed that by leaving a twang on his tongue. Whatever it was, one side of it was twisted and warped as if it had been violently wrenched free. Yes, it was definitely too big and oddly shaped to wear.

Disappointed, Valentine straightened and it was then that he spied the stranger. His ears pricked forward in friendly interest. "Ah, hello, miss," he said warmly as he studied her. She was a handsome specimen; swathed in warm, earthy tones with a vivid jade gaze that stood out sharply against the dark markings that lined her eyes. His disappointment was instantly cured by the chance to speak to such a lovely stranger.
