He was sure he saw her before she saw him. The fae seemed preoccupied, staring at the willow that was now his den, and unaware he was there at all. His nostrils twitched, picking up her scent, naming her a rouge and therefore not as much of a threat as a pack wolf. Once this was established his body ? which had been tensed and ready to spring ? relaxed. Kerhasi returned her cool gaze with his own. Slithering, his tongue returned to his mouth. At first he was driven to stand, close the distance between their bodies and inspect her further. But he stayed laying, in all appearances relaxed and perhaps even friendly.

Thin lips parted, curling at the edges to mock up a grin. Guten tag, the thick German rolled easily from his maw, lavender eyes flicking over the pale wolf in open appreciation. What are you doing here, h?ndchen? Added in a softer tone, calling the girl puppy in his father?s native language. It was always fun to mess with wolf?s minds. It was then that the brute would stand, long limbs pushing up from the ground in slow, easy movements. His chuckle, deep and throaty, was a sudden break from the otherwise silent woods. The silence made him uneasy, as if unseen spirits were quietly judging him. He sought to cross the water, pale eyes on the wolf the entire time. His walk, unconsciously graceful and smooth, brought him to a stop just before the girl if she had yet to move, still standing in the freezing water, ears flicked toward her in a display of friendliness.
