Meeting family

Far from being annoyed at Chord for taking the credit, instead she gave her brother a wink when Shaye wasn't looking. She wanted the two of them to get along, it was important to her especially now that Shaye got a real chance to know her family and build her own opinion of them. She had realized that with Rhythm as well, that it was her daughters life and choice and Motif had no right to get in the way of that – her own pride and opinion and hurt had stopped her from seeing that for a long time.

“Its Chord's secret to tell, not mine!” Motif said after Shaye's question and the girls eyes strayed also Motif's way. She grinned at her daughter, but mostly she grinned at Chord. He had decided to take the reward for this little adventure, well he could take the responsibility too. She had no problems with chucking Chord into the deep end. Besides, when Shaye heard that this was a meeting healers where attending too, that she could learn and maybe even see Rhythm outside of Imp lands – she knew it wouldn't just make Shaye's day, it would make her week, that would build the foundations for a great relationship between Uncle and Niece.
