Lark vs. Limno

He was glad he'd decided to let her go first. It hadn't necessarily been out of politeness, but rather because he figured she had more experience in fighting.. and he was probably better at defending himself than actually attacking. As he rushed forward, he tried to keep his legs spread evenly, his tail standing straight behind him even with his back, and his claws gripping at the soil for traction. The last thing he wanted was his first fight to be a complete failure and for his father to see him being beat... by a girl, no less.

The weight of his bite seemed to send her head back slightly, and he'd push forward into the bite with fervor, hoping it would land solidly upon her face. The attack landed, a moderate bite at best, and certainly not one that would debilitate her for the rest of the fight. A low growl would leave his lips instinctively as he felt her rear up on her back legs, her front paws sliding around his shoulders. A strange move, and one that would certainly force him to change his mind about his course of action.

Not wanting to be sent sprawling to the ground, he'd push himself into her strange embrace, knowing that if he didn't tense his muscles he could easily lose his footing. He'd attempt to keep his head level with his shoulders, wanting to pull his head away and move away from the bite he'd landed on her face. Her own jaws would come down on the side of his scruff and in return, he'd attempt to unhinge his own jaws. Instead of trying to attack again, instead he would try to lean forward with his slightly heavier weight, aiming to push all his weight forward as he shifted the majority of his weight to his back paws, hoping desperately that he could push her off of him.
