The sleek dark body of a big hunting cat romped through the long grass, through the cold white stuff on the ground that had blanketed it much of her journey. She vaguely remembered it from her mother's stories, the snow that fell in the mountains, but cheetahs weren't mountain beasts. They were creatures of of the grasslands! Of wide open skies and land that went on forever as far as you could run! Asali stuttered happily as she twisted and leaped gracefully, kicking up the white powder, agile turns like quicksilver, liquid mercury as she frolicked. "Tamu theluji! Nzuri, nzuri theluji!" she chortled. Oh if only her brothers were here to see this too! This was beyond anything they'd ever dreamed of seeking back home.
