It had been a while since she set her eyes on familiar Ala territories. It had been here, back in these lands that she had first found the will to stand on her own four feet, to be an equal to the brothers she loved and find a profession she exalted at. Funny how much life had changed since then, how packs had risen and fallen, both in her presence and her absence. It had been a long journey to find her brother, to ensure he was well and okay, and to find the courage to come back here alone to the sight of her own personal victory. She had heard of family in the East, ruling a pack through enough time to be called stable and secure, a family of healers and it would be to them that she traveled. As she approached the borders of Threar, she took a deep breath. She wasn't that little insecure girl that had followed Scorp around like a lost puppy – not anymore. She could do this, she could raise her head and call for Novella, met this member of her family who was also a healer. So steeling herself, she did just that, threw back her head and called for Novella. |
