Disturbing

This place was indefinitely strange. The shrine was stuck in the middle of the land, creepy ivory vines growing around the different stones. His eye would scatter across the features. On the inside what would wait for him, some sort of ghost or other thing. Would a monster come out and grab him, eat him alive. Perhaps that would be for the best, but he wouldn't think about it at the moment. He let his paws carry him into the building, where a pond sat in the middle of encircled pebbles and stones.
He almost expected to see his skeleton when he looked into the pool. Only seeing his scarred eye, neck, and then the remaining crystal green that he relied on to see the beautiful and yet horrible world. Vereux's tail wiggled behind him as he raised his head listening to his surroundings. There wasn't even the chirping of birds, it was deathly quiet. What kind of place, was this?
