He knew that the quick way would be painful, but that also meant that it would be over with quicker. However, much to his disappointment, she seemed keen on him doing this slowly. Though the pain meds she'd given him were doing a world of help for his underside, there was still an undeniable stiffness and discomfort in the areas where he'd been injured. He knew that no amount of pain killers could fix that, so he wouldn't bother to complain about it. He didn't want to be all doped up, anyway. She ordered him to start by getting his froth paws up, and he nodded and lifted his fright front paw, bracing himself before lifting his left and placing them both on top of the boulder as far forward as he could reach without ripping his stomach open again. "Alright, I'm gonna need some help with this part," He felt ashamed just saying it, having to ask for help because he couldn't do something, but he knew it was necessary. He bent his back legs slowly, allowing them to coil before he lifted his right one tentatively and placed it halfway up the boulder - looking for a point of purchase. When he found one he stiffened his toes, allowing his claws to grip into the rock as best they could so that, with a good push and a little help from her he could lift himself up and onto the boulder where he would remain for at least a few days. "One... two..." he glanced back toward her quickly before announcing his movement. "Three." As the word left his lips he pushed down and back with his back legs and simultaneously pulled with his front, drawing himself up and onto the rock. |
