ooc; warning, Vit doesn't talk much at all so prepare for very little dialogue from this guy.
Thick, gnarled roots shot out in every direction here, casting a giant spiderweb over the water and swampy areas. He was perched precariously atop two rather thick roots, his front legs on one and his back legs on the other. There was water of an uncertain depth below him, glowing iridescently. The glow filtered upward, casting an eerie mix of multiple hues upon his otherwise white underside. He gazed downward, mesmerized by the water's glow and the way it moved and rippled as tiny water bugs and fish flitted about only a foot or two beneath him. Occasionally fish lifted their whole bodies out of the water for a moment before going crashing back down, hiding amongst the roots of the nearby mangroves. He watched them for a moment more before shifting his back right paw to the same root that held his front paws. He stood like this for a moment to ensure that the root wouldn't give way. When he was fairly sure it wouldn't he drew his remaining back limb inward and perched for a split second on the root before leaping toward a gnarled mess of roots that looked like a more promising place to sit or rest. He landed and a root splintered beneath him, sending his back right leg plummeting down into the water. He scrambled to keep his entire body from falling, and managed to kick upward and regain his balance on his other three legs. He shook his wet appendage briskly and then placed it on a sturdier spot, allowing his figure to rock back onto his haunches in a more comfortable sitting position. From here, he could gaze out and see most of the mangrove and a tiny piece of the hot springs. He liked having a good vantage point. "" |
