Walk | Talk | Think Deep down, she knew it was coming, had known all along even if she had not been allowing herself to think about it. Her brothers were responsible, always looking out for their siblings, which included those who they barely knew. And those they had never met. It came as no surprise to her that Voltage was going to make the trip back to their island home, though it did make the air-affiliated sister worry for him. Voltage always wore his heart on his sleeve, and he had left nothing to be guessed about how he felt about their lot in life. She feared the trip hurting him somehow, seeing him as more fragile despite his obvious strength, but Gale had not tried to talk him out of it. As resolute as the thunderstorms that he hated so much, she doubted anything she would have said would have made a difference. So, instead of trying it, she came prepared and made sure she was ready to send her brother off on his trip back to their island, doing her best to keep her worries well hidden behind a smile. It sat perfectly crafted upon her face, a clear mimicry of the ones that came so naturally to her, but its fault came in that it did not reach her eyes. She approached her brothers and the little Dove on light, airy lavender paws, quiet as she did not want to entirely interrupt the moment both Elementas boys were having. It nearly drew tears to her eyes to see them so, but she blinked them away, reminding herself she was not going to spoil this departure. Someone else could do that. She tried once more to settle her smile in place and wagged her wispy tail, finally entering in to the small gathering. In the back of her mind, she hoped the rest of their siblings would show, or at least hoped that they had already said their goodbyes beforehand. With Glacier and Voltage still offering their parting words, Gale sidled over to Gaia instead, glad that her lackluster smile would go unnoticed by her. "Hey, Dove," she greeted her quietly, offering the nickname she had fashioned for her. She hoped Gaia did not mind it; she rather thought it fitting. "I hope you guys have a wonderful trip. I'll be looking forward to hearing all about it." They had not even left, and she wanted them back already. Turning her grey-green gaze back on her brothers, she finally decided to interrupt them. "Hey, save some goodbyes for the rest of us," she complained, grinning as she said the words. The expression still did not quite touch her eyes, but at least her voice had sounded as teasing as ever. |
