Walk | Talk | Think

Though he knew the girl could do nothing for his homesickness, it was still no less discouraging to hear. It felt like such a hopeless thing, something that was out of his hands with no way to go about fixing it. Was there even anything that could be done for it to make it go away faster? Considering how strongly it hung around him, Miksa doubted it would be easy and was becoming more or less resigned to dealing with it for a time. For now there was really no telling how long that would be, or how severely the feeling might be during that time.

It was not all hopelessness and dismay, however. Varda surprisingly had some suggestions she was holding, suggestions that she wanted to offer him if he was willing to hear her out. He had not anticipated the news, and likely it showed as his yellow eyes met hers, but he was so desperate to fit in that he did not even think twice. He wanted very much to hear anything that she had to say that might help, very eager to finally set aside his sadness in order to do something nice for the pack that had taken him in. He needed to repay their kindness back in kind, and that meant pulling his weight.

"What do you suggest?" Miksa asked quietly, attentively listening for her answer. Any help was better than what he had been doing on his own, and he hoped whatever advice Varda could give might be enough to help him make that first step toward productivity.
