Walk | Talk | Think

It was a relief that Varda was so friendly and willing to talk. Miksa struggled for even the most basic of things to say, and had he been left on his own during the conversation he likely would have said nothing and let them both sit in silence. But her prompting and questions were proving to draw him out, slowly but surely, and he was glad that he had been able to at least tell someone of his personal goal, even if she was not in a position to do anything about it. Hers, as she put it, was hunting, and the boy nodded his head in a sort of quiet acknowledgement. Hunting was good, necessary even. But even so his mind was not swayed away from his own personal decision.

The first suggestion she had for him was attending fight training. It sounded straight forward enough. If he was going to learn anything about fighting then training for it sounded like a good place to start. Only, as far as he knew, there had been no training started that he could jump into, and being still so unfamiliar with the place Miksa was not sure who it was that he should ask, though neither did he really feel brave enough about approaching someone about it. He still considered himself to be a sub par applicant for fighting and defending Threar, and he hated the thought of those same sentiments being agreed upon should he bring it up.

Still, he nodded again, telling himself that, should any training turn up in the future, he would attend and do his best. It was the least he could do. As for goals, he did not know how to remotely answer. The answers that first came to mind - to at least try it, to make himself useful to the pack, to push himself and do better than what he had been doing - all sounded either too silly or too personal for him to say. Embarrassment colored his face as he averted his bright eyes, and to hide the truth of it he answered, "I'm not sure yet."
