Manip Help, please?

Hey guys, so I just downloaded gimp and will be getting a tablet near the end of April for my birthday.

Could somebody help me with doing manips? Like, just show me how you do yours so I have an idea and do mine or some for people.

Perhaps do a joinme so I could watch?
