Content to take up the rear (with totally innocent reasoning), Valentine motioned for Cascade to go ahead of him. Adopting a predatory slink, he make quick work of the terrain that separated him from the land beyond Sonticus. His eyes and ears roved the terra as they sped along like ghosts. To be on the safe side Valentine had told Angelus where they were going and what they were doing. The young man had been more than happy to take over for the day and as the trio had headed for the north, Angelus had strutted off on his first solo patrol. While the King was confident in his son's ability to hold down the fort, he would breathe better when they finally crossed into home territory. The King had a lot to think about.
