Laufey did as he was told. He followed the woman's lead and brought up the rear of the hunting party as they zeroed in on a target. Dutifully he snapped at heels and shepherded the cow towards her demise. He didn't hesitate when they hit water; instead plowing on and seizing each opportunity to worry the cow's flanks until the water around her swirled with blood. He was careful to keep the movements of his packmates in mind and try to work with them; to guess at their intentions and aid them in their endeavors.

This character is prone to acts of EXTREME violence when provoked. If this makes you uncomfortable do not thread with him.

The others would break into a brisk run when Inga commanded them to. He felt the power beneath his pelt as he ran, as he moved in unison with the others. The younger wolves worked around the edges of the group, keeping the stragglers from breaking off, and the rest pushed them further.

Slowly the weaker deer would work their way to the back of the group, as Inga barked out instructions as they ran.  Once the doe was mostly out of the river, he would take it down.  Now that, he could do. The others attack the doe's flanks and sides while she flailed, panicked, trying to escape their grip. With a surge of effort, he would rush forward, swinging around to half-face the doe - who was beginning to topple over - and with one quick movement he lunged at her throat, tearing it from her neck, his head shaking side to side. She wouldn't move much further, and instead began to crumple to the earth, soaking and bleeding, and so their hunt could come to an end.

Inga continued to bite furiously at the doe's hindquarters, always to damage but never for a grip. The elder narrowly avoided another thrashing kick as the doe started to heave herself onto the land. Laufey quickly joined Inga and the others would move to their positions as well. Like clockwork they moved in on the prey, precise and fine-tuned and Inga could feel the taste of victory in the blood on her tongue but she knew not to let up. The instant the wolves began to let up their assault would be the moment the doe would escape. Kapra would move in for the kill, his jaws latching around the does throat and shaking furiously, sending bits of flesh, fur and blood splattering onto the lightly frosted ground.

The doe would collapse and with its dying breath the hunt would come to an end. Inga swam to the shore, climbing onto the bank and shaking out her coat as she moved forward to inspect the kill. Grinning she gave a nod of approval. "Well done! Let us finish hauling her out of the water an then it is time to feast." When they finished dragging the doe to the bank it was time to eat and Inga relished at the good meal before the full brutality of winter fell upon them.

Katja caught Inga's call, and swung about to leap through the herd, weaving among the panicking deer as she zeroed in upon the doe Inga had chosen. The others had gotten there before she had, youth and longer legs and simple proximity allowing them a greater speed. She plunged without hesitation into the cold water, teeth snapping at the doe's flank, seeking to open the beast's abdomen. The doe's hip smashed into the side of her muzzle as the deer surged desperately forward, but Katja's forward motion was only momentarily checked at the flash of pain before she was at Harekr's heels once more. Even as she reached for the deer again they were leaping from the water, but Kapra was ready. He buried his fangs into the deer's throat to tear it from her, bathing himself in blood and gore, and the deer went down thrashing. Katja stood back, satisfaction washing through her as the prey's struggles ceased. This doe would feed the pack, if only for a short time, and they would hunt again soon. It was a good kill. She raised her voice in a long, low song of thanksgiving, the howl drifting toward the sky and through the pack lands, celebrating the victory.
