Nothing he did that he deemed wrong seemed to phase her. No matter the unstudied response that he gave, Surreal kept her cool, retained her friendly attitude, and continued the lesson with encouragement and patience. He struggled to place why he kept expecting her to snap, to become irritated by his lack of proper training, and continued to find himself relieved when she did neither. In fact, it helped to relax him and made him feel slightly less embarrassed by his minimal knowledge. Like she said, he could always learn, and that was exactly what they were doing at that very moment. Helping him learn. Miksa swallowed, attempting to force down his innate self-consciousness, and nodded his head softly in understanding while she shifted her stance and offered him a profile view. His bright eyes traveled down her frame, noting how naturally she took on the fighter's stance, and hoped he might learn that ease with enough practice. The tail postures in particular he watched, matching the motions that she made with the scenarios that she paired them with, and awkwardly he attempted to mimic them. She prompted that he try out the positions she went over, and he did, lifting his paws and letting his tail adjust to see naturally what worked best and even tucking it between his legs. Outward seemed more natural, and he was beginning to think that was what he had tried when his skill had been tested during the raid against Threar, but his thoughts stalled when Surreal mentioned spars. "Today?" he asked, practically blurting the question out. But he still needed practice! He was not ready! His tan ears tipped, the look on his face nervous and slightly embarrassed all over again. Some fighter he made if even talk of a spar spooked him. |
