"your father would be the first male, if so" Holland said seriously, not even blinking as he looked up at her. he didn't laugh even as she turned away in embarrassment. he'd asked plenty of stupid questions during his training, so Kairi's stupid question wasn't exactly out of place. especially since she didn't seem to have formal training in herbology. "th...think of it like this. healers only use parts of the plants for certain things. a leaf may stimulate milk, but a root could help with arthritis. only rarely is a whole plant used for a universal thing." he'd turn back to the ground at last after his explanation, searching for another alfalfa plant. finding one nearby, he'd begin to dig around it again. he made plenty of room for Kairi on the other side so she could help. when that was done, he'd add the plant to the growing list. but Holland shook his head when she offered to gather more with him. that was plenty for today. it had been exhausting and he was eager to go back to his new den and place the plants. especially before the humidity killed them. "this is plenty, th-thank you." he'd add-in. |
