They were of one mind in that - that his only wish was to spend time with his beloved sister. He could hear from her words that hunting didn’t really appeal to her. He knew that it wasn’t where her strengths lay. Perhaps, they would have more fun doing something around the house, instead. Perhaps not drinking, or if so, only lightly. He didn’t need another alcohol-headache.
“Or… If there was anything you needed help with in the cottage, anything you need help to create? I’ve heard of such a thing as Lanterns. Have you ever seen them?” He had some metal tins… they could punch holes in them to let the light through, and make the tiniest fire put in its center, and hang them, with stones underneath to catch the flame should they ever fall… the thought swirled in his mind. He knew how much Io liked the light and warmth of their communal pit.

Sirius gave up the idea for a hunt and suggested that perhaps they build something instead. "Lanterns, eh?" The diminutive fae tilted her head in thought. "We could make lanterns." Then her eyes lit up. "I have an idea." Rising, she went into the cottage and came out with some of the thick vine ropes that she and Enki had braided together. "We could string the lanterns up on posts. Make one for everyone to have outside of their dens if they wish." It might be a nice gesture to make something for each member of the pack. A light to guide each of them home. "What do you think?" Eyes turned up to her brother. He had some idea about these lanterns. She imagined that they could put candles inside of the tins which would burn longer than a small fire, but they could trade ideas back and forth until they came to an agreement.

He waited with an easy smile as his sister moved into her den, and came back with a strange, braided rope. He eyed it curiously, considering her suggestion. “We could, but placing fire so far-spread across a grassy territory might have its dangers. We would have to carefully consider safety measures first” he pointed out. But he could see the appeal to her idea, having a little path of light to bring life and warmth to each wolf’s home.
“As for the lanterns themselves… Me and Asla came back recently with some nicknacks, some of which are small metal containers. We could use those for the base of the lanterns.”

Io laughed aloud at her brother's apprehension. "Not strung across the territory." Picking up a stick, Iolaire drew a little diagram in the dirt. "A tall stick or pole placed in the ground outside of the mouth of a den. At the bottom we could scrape away the grass and lay down stone to catch any embers, though most would cool before they even got that far." At the top of the pole she drew a little circle. "Then we could place the lantern at the top and secure it with the rope." With a little shrug, she tossed the stick aside. "Just an idea." She then nudged her brother with her little shoulder, though it wouldn't make him move at all.

Sirius leaned over, watching her work as she picked up the discarded kindling, and began her visual explanation. “It's not a bad idea. We’ll have to make sure they are heavy and well stuck in the ground so they can’t get knocked over.” he commented, thinking still about the potential hazards. He would likely want to ensure there was a bucket of water(or sand, perhaps?) near each one, in case of emergencies, and ensure the sand at the bottom was well-spread, with stones directly under the pole. He explained all these precautions to his sister as she nudged him gently. He moved, catching her as she leaned into him, and rubbing the fur on her forehead with a cold tongue. Chuckling softly as he kissed the displaced fur. “Let’s grab the jars from storage and start there” they could make the stands after. "Speech"

Sirius licked her fur backwards and the small wolf wrinkled her nose in distaste. He loved screwing with her. With one paw, she righted her fur, claws dragging through the put it back in place. "You keep that up and you're going to wake up with a bald spot. Mark my words." She would sheer the fur right off of his rump while he slept, she swore to the gods she would. Rising from her place, she followed Sirius to the storage area where they collected the jars. "Hey, these are pretty nice. Where did you find them?" Iolaire held one of the glass jars up, inspecting it. If there were treasures like this somewhere, she wondered what else she might find in the location. There might be a bit of adventure in her future. "Speech"

Io’s brother chuckled softly as he watched her flatten her fur. If she didn’t want a noogie every other day, she shouldn’t have become the perfect chin height to the Warlord. “You’d have to reach my head first” he teased gently back - not that she had specified his head. He would just have to hide behind Zee if his sister ever came knocking. They entered the communal celler, and moved through it to the second section Seer had begun to work on. The place to store coats and useful items, and the like. All safe from thieves in the heart of the pack. “A small island not far from the Armada, actually. Me and Asla travelled there. We collected these, and a strange instrument that helps her see the stars” he explained, collected a few jars himself. "Speech"

As Sirius explained where he'd found the little treasures, Io made a contemplative sound in her throat. "I might have to take a gander at this island. Who knows what I might find there?" Being the crafty sort, Io could make something out of anything. If there were useful things there, she would find them and she would utilize them to their full potential.
Coming away with the jars and things, Iolaire moved back out into the open where she sat the items down. The idea for the lanterns had come from Sirius, so she would allow him to lead on their construction. "Where would you like to start?" Using the jars in such a way wouldn't have been how she'd choose to use them, but this was his show. She just enjoyed spending time with her giant sibling.

“I can take you” he offered chivalrously. He could show her where to find some of the neat things he and Asla had spied together. When they both had their arms and mouth full with jars and tools, they would walk back to her den in silence. He placed down his burdens, the taste of musty glass on his tongue. He borrowed a flask of water from her supplies, and took a sip. “I was thinking, we could put the candles in the glass, and decorate them with metals with patterns themselves into their sides. It would make patterns with the light” he mused, and bring a touch of art to the pack lands. "Speech"

Sirius offered to take her and the little woman grinned. "Be prepared to be my pack horse, brother dear." If she was making a journey to a place that had such treasures, she was coming back with full paws. That went without saying.
As the pair worked on their light giving trinkets, Sirius laid out his idea. "Metalwork, eh? Difficult to mold, but it can be done." It wasn't something that she was good at simply because she lacked the power in her small frame. Metal could be heated though and shapes could be extracted from it. Metal sheets weren't exactly in ample supply though and so it would have to be done precisely and sparingly.
With a bit of rabbit skin, Iolaire began wiping out the glass jars. "I've been thinking about keeping bees. Honey all the time. Wax can be used for candles. Do I have time for bees though?" Io gave a shrug. "Is there anyone that you'd like to see be more responsible? Have a particular task or job?" If she could train someone to help her look after a few hives, that would lessen the stress on her.
