His daughter was the first one to speak up, mentioning the Hot Springs, and the possibility of tipping such a beast into them. It was an interesting thought, but the idea of contaminating one of the pools with such a quantity of meat… along with the loss of what they could not harvest and add to their stores. It was Mojito’s mention that stirred the memory. His sister, Io, had taken him to territory not far from here and shown him how to chase bison off a cliff. The haul they had taken away that day had been impressive. But a mammoth? Now. that would be something to see. “I see where you guys are getting at with the hot pools, but anything big enough to trip a beast like that wouldn’t be something we could haul it out of easily. The sulfuric waters would be contaminating the meat all the while. Mojito, your onto something” he nodded his head towards the horned wolf, giving credit where it was due. “Iolaire and I had gone bison hunting some seasons back, and the tactics we used to startle the bison off a cliff may well be something we can employ here. We need startling things… loud, frightening, bright. If we move quickly and in the direct we want we could chase them.. Here” he had been drawing a rough map in the dirt with claw as he spoke, he stood back now so all the assembled wolves could see as he tapped a mark on his map. “Loud, bright, and disturbing. Lets assemble what we can and get familiar with the directions, any questions?” |

Gossamer perked up at the mention of fire. "I can help! I know how to make fire, Ásta showed me." She was eager to be useful on this hunt even if it wasn't an area she'd been specifically trained in. She leaned over as she looked at her father's map, her head tilting to the side. "That seems like an awful long way, do you think we can keep them running that long?" She considered herself pretty tough but running for several territories seemed particularly grueling. Still, she didn't want to be outdone by any of her siblings.

Briar hummed thoughtfully when her father mentioned how they might not be able to pull it out of a pool that would be big enough to trip it on top of the fact that the waters would contaminate their kill. Ah well, she had at least given an idea. She listened as they discussed some other ideas and tactics about getting the mammoth over a cliff with some loud, distracting, scary things of some sort. She looked at the map that her father drew, tilting her antlered head a bit as she memorized it. Okay... seemed easy enough! She got to her paws and looked around at the others as they started talking about how they could collect supplies and craft things. "I'll help Valor collect sticks," she offered with a nod. |

I can't destroy what isn't there
Ada raised a good question, they need a singular target for the group to concentrate on. Wolves spoke out, voicing different ideas in crafting fire and collecting the parts needed to do so. He nodded his head to Valor to collect sticks, to his amnesia wolf to create it, and Stjarna to create the pitch. The others offered support in those jobs, and he gave them his approval as well.
“Ada, pick us the target while the others assemble supplies.” He ordered the young girl. He would assess the manner in which she used to pick their prey. It would be a good mental exercise for her.
He gave time for everyone to gather the things they needed before the hunt began properly.
