Kotori’s pride would love to win by bearing down on Sirius until he admitted defeat and certainly trying to use sheer strength was a thing Kotori had done in more than one battle but maybe it was time to offer a bit more of a surprise.  Kotori felt his dad’s claws touch flesh and instead of enduring he pulled his paw away, relenting pressure against Sirius.

Kotori moved in this time with a lunge, horns pointed up to his father’s chest.  He’d used horns enough time as a child in his battles, often faking a bite to use his horns.  Dad likely remembered it.  This time the horns would be the fake out.  Kotori’s head was lowered and muzzle facing down whenever he used his horns like this and so he bit at the lower leg.  Maybe a bit of surprise and a bite to the leg would help Kotori win this thing.

"Kotori Fatalis"

His opponent set herself so that she just slid as he pushed into her, so he sought to continue to do so step by step. If he had to push her into another battling pair to trap her under him, so be it. He had to arch his neck, angling his nose further in between them to take her headbutt to his big heavy skull instead of his muzzle while hoping to keep his grip on her upper foreleg. It hurt, but not nearly as much as cracking the bridge of his nose would have. Growling and blinking through the stars, he reached out with a big forepaw, claws unsheathed, in an attempt to swipe one of her hind legs out from under her. As he did, Kelsier ghosted in behind her, setting his dark sleek body in a crouch presumably to provide a block for him to shove her against.

Spider answers the man’s grin with one of their own, panting with a happy kind of exertion. when the nerves fall away and they’re caught up in the heat of battle, this is…actually sort of fun! they suppose a typical raid wouldn’t be quite so casual, but for now they’re grateful for the chance to develop their skills.

their head snaps around as the man’s companion approaches, head lowered and horns urging them backward. perturbed, the teen scrambles to avoid those menacing points - and subsequently falls right into the man’s paws. he makes short work of whisking them off their paws, and it’s all Spider can do to twist in his grip and try to break free, hoping to unbalance him again. they snap their teeth at him - more as a distraction than anything else - and attempt to twist far enough to gain purchase on his shoulder. should this work, they’d sink down only deep enough to surprise him into dropping them.

To her delight, Satira found very little resistance as she surprised the larger wolf with her smaller stature. Score one for being smol! Her fangs and teeth found purchase in the softer flesh of his underbelly and Tira went to town, clamping onto Charlton’s underside and refusing to let go like an angry chihuahua. Her momentary triumph didn’t last long, however, as her opponent already started trying to fish her out from underneath him, his companion even coming to the rescue to try and get her out from under him. Thankfully, Tira’s leopard came to her rescue in turn, leaping in to try and tackle the mustelid away from the fight and keep him occupied. However, the little wolf-dog felt one of Charlie’s large paws eventually nabbed her by the hip and pulled her out from under him.

Tira yipped in surprise as she was unceremoniously hoisted out into the fray again, wriggling her way to freedom and scurrying away from Charlie. With their massive size difference, the only way she could hope to win was by whittling the male down until he submitted. Facing off against Charlie again, she flashed a grin up at the larger brute and taunted him with a playful, "Try to catch me, big guy!" Then she was darting off around Charlie’s left side, running to get into position to try and lunge for his left thigh. She pounced with teeth and claws extended again, aiming to grasp onto his thigh and make as much of a nuisance of herself as possible.

"Satira"

His opponent stood steadfast despite the efforts of him and his companions, the blue-hued man only stumbling a bit and righting himself in response. Honestly, Arc was pretty impressed. At least he'd managed to pick an opponent that might actually give him an interesting fight! As he was resetting his own defenses he noticed the Armada wolf's stance shift as he began to lunge forward for an attack of his own and Arc pulled his foreleg out of his reach just in time to avoid the stranger grappling him. He didn't get out completely unsheathed, feeling the sting of his opponent's teeth scrape across his skin and leave a series of scrapes behind, but that wouldn't slow him down. Given that this was apparently a raid between allies and not an actual attack of some kind he didn't really want to hurt the other wolf so biting with his saber fangs in the way seemed like a bad idea. Instead, he tried to rear up enough to hook his right foreleg across his opponent's shoulders and lunged forward in the same motion to throw his wight into the man's left shoulder. Clearly they weren't above drawing blood so he figured it wasn't out of line to try and hook his feline-like claws into his opponent's opposite shoulder to try and get a better grip and more leverage on him to grapple with. Fair was fair, right?

It was utterly astounding the timing that the packs that raided them had. Every summer like clock work they were interrupted to go fight someone–and not even for high stakes either! He joined Tira in her disappointed and annoyed sighs as they quickly grabbed their gear and ran out of their den to where the fights had kicked off near the border. By the time they got there it looked like many of the intruders were already locked in fights with their various pack mates. While Tira went to help her uncle and get into a fight of her own, he started scoping out where he could join in on the fight. At first his gaze landed on an absolutely massive wolf marked with bright blue and he blinked with surprise and awe at the size of this lad. Well, that was certainly not someone he wanted to fight unless he absolutely had to, even if it was for shits and giggles...

Instead, as he glanced across the chaos one more time to see if he could spot anyone else that was waiting for an opponent like he was, he spotted a earthen-hued male with horns and a short tail, making him look a bit like a goat. He would do just fine. Ciná bounded forward with long strides as he set a few of his defenses, his mastiff Tine following closely behind him. From his quick assessment of the situation he gathered that these wolves were from Armada and therefore allies of theirs so he figured he better not go into the fight too hard right off the bat, but if he was going to get dragged out of bed to go fight then he was going to at least have fun. He didn't hesitate to charge in toward his opponent, utilizing the spikes built into the front of his breast plate to try and slam into the slightly shorter man chest to chest. While he focused on trying to overtake and push the man off balance, Tine made a wide arc around the brown-hued wolf to go for his back left leg, attempting to nip and bite at his ankle.

Asla ducked down out of the reach of Gossamer's jaws but already the Lieutenant was on to her next set of moves. With Asla down so low, Gossamer hoped to take advantage of her sisters position to pin the smaller wolf. She lifted her front legs and threw them forward and down, letting her chest fall as she sought to wrap her arms around the back of her sister's neck, her fangs aiming for the scruff. In doing so she had lifted her paws out of reach of Asla's initial attack and managed to avoid any damage. Now if she could just make this maneuver work. She did her best to keep her defenses set, especially her tail between her legs and covering her underbelly which was now riskily exposed.

He watched the field with a careful eye, watching, waiting. Valta was still coming out and engaging with the Armada. He couldn't say that he was feeling impatient for a fight. He didn't mind if he got a chance or not, though it seemed he would get a chance. From the corner of his eye he saw a flash of red and spotted someone coming right for him. His ears flattened and his hackles rose as he quickly settled into his defenses, especially since it seemed like he was coming in hot. Bracing himself, Grimoire pushed forward the last few feet before his opponent made impact, grunting and snarling as he aimed to jar his opponent with his attempt at suddenly smashing his own weight forward. He grunted with the pain, knowing full well a bruise would form on his chest, but luckily his armor had saved him from the worst of it. Opening his jaws, he turned his head in towards the left side of Cina's neck, aiming to grab the flesh there while he lifted his left forepaw in an effort to drag his claws down Cina's foreleg as moved to stomp on his toes. Unaware of the dog circling behind, he snarled when he felt teeth on his heel. At that moment, his little reindeer came charging in, antlers down as the little beast sought to harass the dog away from him. Companions for the wolves of Boreas were commonplace, though Yorrick still wasn’t used to helping Charlie fight against wolves with them… outside of his father and his companions, anyway. Falling away from the combatants, he had no choice but to focus on the leopard before him and leave Charlie to deal with the small woman.

Charlie manages to hook her, dragging her out from under him but not without some damage to his underbelly. Nothing serious, though it would be a bit of a pain to deal with later when it scabbed up and started itching. For now it was just some stinging - not enough to distract him from the battle. Yet the playfulness of his opponent had the young man grinning, responding in kind to her comment. “We’re a little old to be playing tag, miss!” She was fast, and there was no way he was going to keep up with her as bulky as he was, buuuuut he was going to try and use that in his favor.

Assuming she’d go to try and get to a harder part for him to spin to again, Charlie decided to do a trust fall of sorts. He flung his body towards the smaller woman, allowing himself to lose his balance on purpose. He felt the pain of teeth and claws… but if she didn’t react fast enough he was going to plop down on top of her and pin her beneath him!

Ciná wasn't able to break his concentration from his opponent to see what happened, but he heard Tine yelp and skitter away from the Armada man as he was chased off by something. He trusted that his mastiff could handle himself, but he'd check on him when the fight was over. For now he focused on pushing his weight forward into the man he had picked to fight with and in return he was met with the feeling of teeth catching the skin on the side of his neck. He snarled and resisted the urge to pull away so that he wouldn't give his opponent's teeth a chance to cut into his skin more. As he was deciding where to take this deadlock they found themselves in, he felt the man's paw scrape against his leg and then catch on the top of his bracer, deflecting his momentum enough to keep him from stomping down on his toes. Thank gods for his armor.

Acting fast to try and take advantage of the position the Armada man was currently in, Ciná quickly lifted his right foreleg to try and catch Grimoire's left leg before it fully lowered back to the ground, attempting to hook his foreleg in the man's armpit. He wanted to shove forward with the extra leverage he got from this new grappling position, trying to twist to his left to try and shove the man onto his side. The claws of his right paw scraped down the man's left side, either giving him a better grip or perhaps just leaving some scratches in his wake while they struggled to see who would come out on top.

The call at the border, announcing a raid on Valta find Strix outside of pack lands, picking herbs that are needed. Cursing to himself, the small man races back into the lands, stopping by his den to dump off his satchel of collected herbs before rushing to join the defending numbers. Of course, being late to the party means that he misses Kotori’s speech but that doesn’t stop him from bounding out onto the battlefield.

Pausing a moment to allow his mismatched gaze to scan for an opponent, he finds a young wolf with interesting eye like markings that has just sent Mojito packing. Without a word, Strix rushes forward, heading into the thick of the battle as if this is any other raid. Aiming to come at them head on, the taller male seeks to try and barrel into the shorter wolf in an effort to try and send them sprawling. A growl rumbles deep in his chest as his eyes burn with the heat of excitement at being in yet another raid.

His companion had successfully gotten the dog off of him, though it had served its purpose in momentarily distracting him just enough. Although Grimoire had managed to successfully take a bite on his opponents neck, his hind foot throbbed from the dog bite and he momentarily lost his footing, that coupled with his opponents grapple beneath his foreleg, Grimoire felt himself slipping. Shit! He did his best to quickly spread his grounded limbs, grunting in pain as he forced his back foot to bear his weight further as he fought from going down to little avail. He could feel himself toppling, and so as a last ditch effort, he released the bite from his opponent, tossing his head in an effort to whack his opponent with his horns before ultimately losing his balance, and reaching out with his free foot in an attempt to scratch anywhere he could reach on his way down.

their chest rises and falls sharply as they struggle to catch their breath, still trying to grapple with the outcome of their last fight. they’d won. like, actually won. a little smile tugs along the corner of their lips, chest puffing out in pride. it’s as their soaking in their victory, however, that another man comes barrelling forward and tries to knock them flat. squeaking in surprise, Spider goes tumbling to the ground, a vague ache throbbing through them from ear to tail tip. they let out a low groan, wanting noting more than to stay on the ground and recover, but adrenaline has them scrambling to their feet and whirling to face their opponent. shooting him an unimpressed glare, they dart forward and feint right, then attempt to land a blow on his left flank, hoping to utilise the moment of misdirection to confuse him.

The hit lands and the wolf squeaks in surprise as he sends them tumbling to the ground. A smirk tugs at Strix’s lips as a growl rumbles from somewhere deep in his throat, fur standing on end as the stranger scrambles to their paws and shoots him an unimpressed glare. Nostrils flare in irritation as they seem to stare at him with disdain and the young man, who had been the smallest of his siblings, feels a familiar sense of worthlessness lifting its ugly head.

They feint before striking at his left flank and Strix takes it, whipping around quickly in an effort to sink his teeth into their scruff so he can rip them off his side. Anger rolls through him, not at this small wolf, but at himself for never being enough and he seeks release all that guilt, shame, and rage in one, powerful bite. At the same time, he attempts to wrap his slender forelimbs around their slight frame with the intent of possibly wrestling them to ground so he can claim a pin.

Truthfully, all the small Klein male really wants is to not feel so… useless.

This time, Kotori certainly had his head in the game. Whatever surprise might have given the Warlord in regards to an advantage was over. That, and his son’s youth was able to win over the Warlord's experience. Further proof that the old man was slipping. This world belonged to the young, and his time had long since passed. He chuckled, taking a limping step away from Kotori, his eyes oddly bright as he blinked and smiled at the tawny wolf. “You’ve come so far” He said with unbridled pride. “Let’s head to the side and watch how our wolves do?” He suggested. They could watch the rest of the outcome of this raid together. "And I wish to speak to you in regards to my retirement."
