She could already tell she would not like the West. It was hard to get to - you had to go south before you could go west, she had to skirt pack territories like mad, and then go through freaking sand upon sand upon sand. Now she was actually in a place where there was easily access water, but it was hot, dry, and there was still sand in her fur. And she would bet that if she went to the other side of this little oasis of willow trees, there'd be nothing but endless sand there too. Probably more of it, because the girl had only spent maybe half a day in the sand after leaving the water. It had decidedly put the Abaven yearling in a sour mood, and the grumpy creature would start out, intending to find the source of water.

Whether she wanted to admit it or not every step, every new place did little to make Karabela feel less lost. What was she doing with her life? Running she supposed. Running from the ghostly visions of her mother and brothers deaths. The broken ties of her sisters and littermates. Somehow her world had crumbled so suddenly that Karabela felt as though she never quite found her feet and so she would move, faster. That was the problem, she simply wasn't going fast enough. Somewhere in Alacritis there was an adventure awaiting her. Some grand tale that would ultimately end in the answer she sought and she was wasting way to much time prowling through the battlefield. Those attempts to satisfy her demons with blood and pain.

Slipping through the Whistling Willows Karabela reached the edge of a pond and quickly bent her head to drink. The cool water grounding her. The wind whispered softly through the green drapery and she found herself feeling a sense of calmness here.

It didn't take long at all to find it; she just headed towards the center and there it was. There was also another wolf near it, taking a drink, and the yearling hung back, eyeing the grey and black with mistrust. She was no as trusting as she was before, before the little Imperium bitch ripped her face open. "Hello?" she called out, wary, body tense to fight or flee. The wolf... did not look threatening, rather, she looked calm and peaceful, but so did Evangeline from behind; it wasn't until Lillianna saw her face did she see the internal shit that was Valentine's daughter. Of course, this wolf was in the way of her getting water. She had approached Vana with no such goal other than to socialize, so there was... that difference. She did not think that one would get possessive or snappy over a body of water, but regardless. Better safe than sorry.

Karabela lapped the water off her chin, golden eyes taking in the territory around her. She tensed hearing the sound of footsteps and turned sharply at the hello, taking in the form of a young earthen female. "Uh… hi. You looking to take a drink?" Karabela moved aside to let the other female at the water. She felt suddenly awkward. Living on her own for so long made her suddenly aware she wasn't quite sure how she was supposed to be acting around other wolves. Should she give her name? Was that how social introductions worked. "I'm Karabela, what's a pack wolf doing all the way out here?" She recognized the girls scent as Abaven but she knew little of the pack itself.

The tenseness faded from her limbs when the woman - who she now noticed was about her age - responded. It was innocent, even a bit awkward. Lillianna would nod, taking those few steps forward to do so to stand by the shore a few feet from Karabela. Her head dipped and lapped at the water eagerly. While she was not... dying of thirst, per se, the heat drained moisture and made her throat dry. This water was wonderfully cool and soothing. Her head lifted as Karabela introduced herself, and the girl relaxed almost all the way. "Lillianna," she returned, a small smile on her scarred face. "Simply exploring," she answered. The other girl was a loner, that much was certain... and she seemed to recognize Abaven, but then again, recognizing a pack wolf was quite easy, even if the scent was unfamiliar. "What of you?" she questioned. "Exploring as well, or looking for a home?" She seemed quite good at giving wolves new homes, or at least... making them think if they want a home, like Necrosis.

The forest was lovely and Karabela continued to examine the terrain as the other girl drank. Frogs were croaking near by and she noticed the sheen of several fish within the pond though she wasn't sure she was hungry enough to try and catch one. Raba was not a gifted fisherwoman. When the other female had finished her drink she spoke and Karabela grinned. "Oh? Excellent!" She nodded. "I'm also exploring. Thought I'd take a tour of the west if you wanted to join me." The word home stung but Karabela didn't show it. She hadn't thought of finding a home. With her family gone it seemed a silly thing to even attempt to find a place to call her home. Places any more were just places. She had yet to stumble upon anything that held a strong enough spark to make her want to stay.

Karabela stretched and trotted over to a large willow, winding around it and sticking her head in a hole in the tree. "Helloooooo?" Her voice echoed strangely before an irate squirrel suddenly zoomed past her face and up into the canopy. "Yeesh! I bet this place makes a great den sight for tree critters. Maybe there are some wood ducks around."

With that, the cheerfulness, the tension completely melted away. Limbs languid and fluid, the woman stepped back from the pond, tail swinging in a gentle arc. she grinned, nodding to Kara. "Gladly! It would be nice to have a travelling partner." Oh, was that true. And a nice one, as well; she truly did already enjoy the company of the other yearling. It was saddening the female did not seem to be looking for a home - she had taken it as her personal responsibility to bring home wolves who needed homes.

That disappointment faded as she watched Karabela... stick her nose in a hole by a tree and talked into it. When the squirrel - a rather angry little squirrel, at that - zipped up the tree and chattered at Karabela angrily... she couldn't help it, she burst into laughter. Lillie nodded at the other girls words, still chuckling. "Probably." In act, the thought of food made her stomach growl, and quite loudly; she gave Kara a sheepish grin. "It also seems like my stomach very much liked the thought of wood ducks," she added with another chuckle, shaking her head.

Excellent!   Karabela found her spirits lifting at the thought of having an exploratory partner.  Two sets of eyes were always better than one when it came to exploring and it was more likely they'd find things of interest working together.  Maybe it was a bit manipulative, thinking of using the other girl to help in her exploration but it seemed to be a mutual thing.  A symbiotic relationship so to speak.  They could both benefit from each others company and besides, she supposed it was high time she socialized for a bit.  Karabela let out a laugh as the other girls stomach grumbled. "Mmmm food does sound good.  But I don't think we'll get filled up on frogs and squirrels.  Let's see.... hmmm I think I feel like going west. Maybe northwest. Let's see!."
