These lands smelled and tasted heavily of salt. It was soft, warm and incredibly overwhelming - but somehow fitting to the sound of rolling waves and the cries of gulls overhead. Io had found a small strip of sand that stretched a little less than a mile in either direction. It was a small beach, somewhat rocky in places, but the woman smiled regardless. The ocean was an incredible treat to the nomad. She had heard tales of it, but her travels so far were inland, and rarely did the wind carry more than faint reminders of the beaches it had once known.

Night had just fallen over the area, and the sky was clear. Each star could be seen twinkling above the heads of all they resided over. A full moon drenched the area in pale moonlight. It made the albino's fur look even more stark white than it was, and her magenta eyes reflected a silvery pink light against the moon's rays, yet looked strikingly red when stared straight into. Pink paw pads left a trail in the sand leading right to the gentle creature that was now standing on the shore. Her gaze was focused outward, on the horizon of darkening waters. An ocean that was probably so bright and green and blue during he day was now a churning mass of ink.

The woman took the first step, letting the cool waters wash over her front paws. It was chilly, but she didn't flinch, only basked in the momen of peace. The world around her was so quiet, but there was so much to be heard if one truly listened. The faint call of water dwelling beasts not too far off, the sound of birds overhead, the crashing of waves against the shore. A different symphony than she was used to listening to, the forests that she immersed herself in was so much different.

It was all so serene.

The blackness of night was by far her favorite light to travel by. The moon shone high above her, as the coolness of the dark enveloped her cinnamon frame. Lithe and agile as she was, the girl didn't make a sound as she creeped across the terrain. Grass wet with dew kept her footsteps muffled as she slunk around looking for something to do. Salty air drifted into her nostrils as she moved forward delicately, nimble on long legs. Her mother would not condone the princess moving at such an hour of the night, but Venetia rarely gave much thought to the wishes of her parents - at least not when it came to exploring. Her heart was wild, untamed, and desired to be free. This way, it always would be.

Even now as she stalked toward the ocean, Venetia kept her eyes out for a worthy target to keep under watchful party-colored eyes. Venetia Margox-Bellator raised her head proudly, appearing very much a young pup in the cloaking light of the moon, as she noted a shimmering white figure standing in the surf. Venetia had always been perplexed by oceans. What made them churn like they did? Why was their water not safe to drink? Curiosity baited her forth as she approached to the right of the dame in the water, a light bark announcing her presence. She would utter russian words, almost seeming to forget that most other wolves didn't speak her native tongue. Это - красивая ночь.

She had thought that she would be alone for the remainder of the night. The stillness had overtaken her, the quiet sounds of the surrounding area becoming both soothing and more lively as the night went on. The sound of pawsteps did not pull her attention toward the stranger, because there was barely a sound to be heard. The sand cushioned any sort of noise that the other female could have made, and the crashing waves swallowed the subtle sound of the other's breathing. It was easy to be unnoticed here, a phantom beneath moonlight - to simply be a part of the night's chorus, that was quickly reaching a crescendo within the albino's mind. She subtly smiled as she listened, her red eyes gazing at the ocean that stood so darkly, proud and churning, yet so gentle sweeping past her paws. She was captivated for a moment, in the vastness of these waters, they were new to her after all - but the spell was broken by the voice of another.

Her ears perked, and gently she turned toward the stranger, curiosity clear upon her ivory visage, but masked beneath the shallow light of the moon. The stranger was a female, with the most peculiar set of eyes that she had seen in quite some time. She was lovely, in a sense - and Io found herself gazing at her colors. Where the albino was all white and pink and pale, this woman had a dark nose, dark lips, ink around her eyes and an inner strength that the fragile healer could only wonder why she didn't possess. Her words were the same, and spoken in a dialect that Io didn't recognize herself. She paused, shaking her head at the dame. "I am sorry, but your form of tongue is not something that I understand." She stated, shaking her head. Her own lyrics were light, gentle and airy, but more honey and solid than a mere whisper.

"Who are you that joins me this night?" She asked the female, letting her attention linger on the other. It wasn't often that she indulged in conversation - and although she was polite with her words they sounded loud within her own mind. Disrupting the quiet, it seemed the trance that the lulling night's chatter had placed her under was gone and would never return. Although there was nothing malicious about this female before her, her stomach tightened just slightly within her bodice. Nervous - how silly of her to be such when her current company had been nothing short of courteous...

Nighttime was a very fine time of day - er, night. Sneaking and craftiness were her second nature, but almost any wolf could be sneaky and crafty during the wee hours of the night. Very little effort was required for the damsel, although she had not acted in her usual fashion on this night. Normally, she would have stalked the albino she-wolf for a while, watching her, observing her mannerisms to determine what sort of wolf she was, and whether she was worth further investigation. This time, she only sought to start a conversation. It had been a while since she'd talked to anyone, and the vibes from this female said that she might be an interesting subject to get her paws wet once more. Of course she should have known that her speech would not be interpreted. It was not likely that many wolves here spoke russian, and was even less likely that even if there were such wolves, that he would run into them. Still, she had done it without thinking, and there was no taking it back. The woman seemed polite, apologizing for her lack of understanding. Her words were soft, sweet, and gentle, the kind that her mother often spoke to her. Venetia relaxed her stance slightly, a smile cracking across her lips. Forgive me, sometimes I forget that not everyone speaks Russian.

I am Venetia Margox-Bellator, Ven for short, and you? Curiosity would send her head tilting to a degree, in such a manner that made her appear younger than her two years of life. It mattered little to the girl. Party-colored eyes examined the she-wolf, wondering who she was, where she belonged, and why she was here. Those same eyes shifted their gaze, adjusting upon the obsidian waves glimmering with moonlight. It was beautiful, really, something someone could never simply imagine. A night like this had to be experienced, not just dreamed. Cinnamon and creme frame shifted it's weight lightly as her vision transitioned back to the albino girl.

The female was kind, it seemed, and Io calmed slightly. Her words were drowning out the scenery and drowning in it all of the same, and the little fae could only respond with a nod to her statement because she couldn't get herself to add her voice to the noise. Still her pink lips spread into a smile at the other's matching expression.

As the other introduced herself, Io watched, testing her name out in her head. It had a lovely flow to it, so many syllables and sounds and it was nothing like the short name that she had for herself. It was complex, perhaps this female was just as lovely and complicated as her name. "Ven." She said softly, testing the name out on her own lips. It rolled off of her tongue with ease, and the female looked down but a moment - before her gaze trailed back up to the other female's dual toned gaze. Her visage wore a small smile, her eyes reflecting some of the emotion as well as she opened her mouth to speak. "I am Io, Sovari." Her last name had stopped being important since loosing and loosing track of her family, but it was still a part of who she was.

She was slowly deciding that she rather liked her company. She seemed like a girl that had confidence, but also managed to be a dreamer. Underneath the moonlight she was stunning, her eyes catching the light and reflecting two very different metallics - there was so much color... "I am new to these lands, this is my first time seeing the ocean." She explained, in case her company was interested, if she wasn't, it was fine - as Io wasn't much of one to talk for no specific. The albino was just as comfortable sitting in the soothing sound of silence, but she knew that not everyone lived that way.

"It is lovely, but I feel it holds more charm and less mystery during the day." Her nocturnal self would not easily see the sea glittering beneath the sunlight. It would probably do more harm than good.
