This place was...strange, to say the least. More careful then she'd ever been before, she picked her way across the Deadman's Scrap in her endeavor to explore what remains were here. It was all so odd...bits of things she'd never seen before were strewn all over the place, like an explosion had happened a very long time ago. Dual hued eyes were wide as some of the debris sparkled with the light of the sun, catching her attention. With interest, she sauntered over, throwing away the caution she had just moments before as she went to investigate. The shiny shard of whatever it was held her full attention now, the rays of light shining through the odd dark blue color. Without much thought, she dug her paw into the trash to pry out, and immediately regretted it. "Ow! That hurt!" She would exclaim with a frown as she looked at her paw, the pad of it bleeding after being cut by the glass.

This place was his favorite [Deadman’s Scrap]. He didn’t know exactly what it was, where it was, or even that it had a name, but he liked it! There was so much stuff. Sparkly stuff here, floaty stuff there. Some things hurt, some didn’t. Some made you bleed. He liked that, and didn’t like it at the same time. Either way, he always had a fun time whenever he managed to come across the place. It was where he had first found the crinkly.

He recognized the place once he saw the blurred edges – the fading reach of garbage. His kind of treasure, of course. Bits of unidentifiable things rolled and drifted like tumbleweed in the warm breeze. The ground was speckled with anything and everything and some of it sparkled. The gremlin – very much like a magpie – had a keen eye for shiny things. While he wasn’t particularly good at collecting (he generally forgot where he stowed things, and often left them behind when he got tired of carrying them) he at least could enjoy the things he found for the time that he had them.

When he approached the trash deposit, he noticed someone else there, just up ahead. The beastling stretched his neck, gawking with wide, ghastly eyes and an open mouth. They looked tiny! Like him! Maybe even smaller – it was hard to tell from a distance. Immediately interested, he scampered over, only managing not to prick his feet by some stunning (and usually scant) luck. He stopped several yards away, stretching his neck again like an anxious meerkat. The wolf was white and brown and black, and looking at their foot, or something near it for reasons he couldn’t see. Hmm. What to do. He tended not to think his problems all the way through though – resorting instead to spontaneous inclinations. He was an artist of the mind with visions of crimson Pollock pieces splattered across his psyche! So, he would indulge in his fine art of doing whatever the hell he suddenly felt like, and scream loudly and discordantly over at the stranger, ”Heeeeee-lloooo-ooo!”

He did not have a pretty voice.

She nearly jumped out of her skin when a rather loud, very unfamiliar, most hideous sounding voice suddenly sounded nearby. She leaped up, spinning a 180 until she landed rather clumsily on her feet again, fur frizzed out like she'd been electrocuted. Saucer lookin eyes found the source of the voice, and almost immediately her brows furrowed. He looked...odd. But who was she to judge? Maybe his fur was that way because he adventured alot, and the scars maybe were from tree branches that didn't let him pass?

When she gathered her breath, she pouted slightly before smiling, tail wagging. "Hey! Don't sneak up on me like that! I thought you were the monster that lived here!" Come to think of it...that was why she was here wasn't it? To look for a mythical creature she had never heard of. Maybe he'd heard of it? Whether he had or not, maybe they could explore this place together and find it!

The beastling’s mouth snapped open wide in a chesire grin, his empty eyes wide. ”Aha!” he hooted loudly, jerking his head forward with the sound. The wolf jumped! It jumped! Oh the way it puffed up – it gave him a wicked, coiling satisfaction. The stranger seemed to asses him for a moment before smiling, its tail swaying. The imp took that as his invitation. He bounded forward in an odd, zigzagging pattern, coming closer until he skidded to a stop at a better conversational distance. He licked his lips, tattered ears perking at the female’s playful chiding. His grin stretched a smidge wider, void of warmth but filled with teeth. A monster?! Oh what a wonderful title to be bestowed with! Even if she had not meant it for him, he decided he would take it. ”But he is!” he tittered.

Suddenly, he licked his lips and bounded forward again, attempting to thrust his right side up towards hers. ”Who’s taller?! Who’s taller?!” he yapped. This was very important! He buzzed with elation, his restraint and conformity to social rules nonexistent. Oh, he did not think he'd ever met anyone shorter than himself who wasn't a baby (which, while tasty, didn't count towards his personal height score). He was electrified with the excitement.
