For Lark <3 Les Mis inspired!
Did you see them going off the fight?
Children of the barricade who didn't last the night.
Did you see them lying where they died?
Someone used to cradle them and kiss them when they cried.
Did you see them lying side by side?

The young Destruction pup was not certain as to what was going on. There were few things he understood or was told about the situation with the siege, so the pup would continue on his normal routine. The thrush would move, light on his paws as she ran around outside the den, racing the winds that ran through his fur though he knew there was no way to beat something that he only knew where it was after it passed him. He had no expression on his face, remaining calm and stoical against it all. The tri-colored child clicked his tongue in a vague interest, breathing in the scents on the horizon as his mind went from topic to topic, place to place.

There were things that Tordo did know, though. He knew that he had a ton of family outside of his siblings and parents, and most of them were around them. Then, he knew that something big was happening, because there had been so many different scents that he did not recognize. The only question: what?

Lark hadn't had the time to get to know his newest brother like he wanted to. He'd been distracted - worried about the upcoming siege, about his home and his siblings and his parents. There was no doubt in his mind that they were strong enough to defeat their enemies, but he couldn't help but feel anxious at the prospect of his family being hurt or otherwise threatened for their involvement.

He knew, though, that he couldn't leave without spending some time with Tordo. His scent wasn't difficult at all to follow, and he trailed after it with ease, finding his youngest brother exploring near his parents' den. A wide, genuine smile light up Lark's typically stoic face as he closed the distance between them, his tail flicking in obvious pleasure as he approached. "Looking for trouble, Tordo?" he would tease him playfully as he moved to press his nose to Tordo's cheek.

The young bird had been content with running around, racing about simply for the cause of it though he did try to stay somewhat close to the den, honestly he did. A wide smile and an unfamiliar voice reached him as he did so, causing him to do a complete one eighty with a wide cracked smile. He recognized the wolf, had seen him about and knew his name and the fact that he was a brother, but apart from that he knew very little about Lark Destruction.

“Always.” He responded rather cheekily, dare he say a wink in there as the bubbly child approached, halting a few lengths away from him. “What’s going on – everyone seems super busy all the time?” His curiosity had always gotten the best of him… which didn’t really say much because of his age, but it would sure be bound to get him in actual trouble at some point.

Lark had never really been.. good with children. They were generally annoying to him, though his siblings were definitely an exception. His smile grew as he studied Tordo, his tail waving in a wide arc behind him. It was important that he get to know his younger brother, especially before the siege - for who knew what might happen. Not that he would express these concerns to the young boy before him.

A soft laugh left his lips as Tordo addressed him. "Nothing that you need to be concerned about," he told him firmly. How might he tell his little brother that many of them were going to fight? That they would likely come home hurt and exhausted? He would probably notice it after the siege, but.. it seemed unimportant right now. "What you should be concerned about, though," he started, grinning mischievously. "Is the adventure we're about to go on. What do you say?" Perhaps this would distract him from the more serious question that had popped into his head, and provide them a bit of time to bond.

The amusement in his brother’s features when he greeted him, his comeback to his brother’s question, was all the confidence he needed to tell himself that he was on the right track when it came to a good conversation… until his brother shut him down, refusing to tell him what it was that was happening while insisting that it didn’t need to concern him – did it not? The firm voice told him not to question it as he simply shrugged it off, his brother bringing up something more interesting: an adventure. His tail broke into a furious wag, a wide grin on his face as he nodded. “An adventure?” He asked mirthfully as he eyed his brother.

There wasn’t a bit of hesitance as he began to find himself pestering. “Really? Where? What’re we gonna do? Are we gonna do something fun? What about cool?!?” He asked with wide eyes, a sense of amazement hinting in his eyes as he looked at his brother, something to look forward to and a sense of direction to his aimless exploring that he had been doing.

Depending on what happened in the siege, Tordo might be forced to grow up quickly..more quickly than he had to. Lark was not naive enough to believe that someone in his family could die, or could get serious injured. He was no healer, but he knew bad injuries could turn to sickness, and sickness could turn to death just as quickly and unexpected. For his siblings more than anyone, he hoped Tordo would not have to learn of such things so soon. He was happy to distract him, and his own features lit up in obvious pleasure at Tinaro's joyous reaction.

"Come on," he invited him to join him, beginning to pad across the plains at a brisk pace. His head would jerk to the side, gesturing for Tordo to follow him. "You can't tell me you think I'd tell you we're going on an adventure, then take you somewhere boring, right?" Lark teased him, chuckling as he leaned over to press his nose into Tordo's cheek.

Tordo had noticed a shift in things; things were changing. He couldn’t place it or identify what it was that he was looking for in terms of answered; things had just seemed more tense around the pack. The boy had been observant and picked up on it though he didn’t take it to heart or really question it. What did he really have to compare it to? As far as he was concerned or he knew, everything was just fine and nothing would be changing soon. He let a lopsided grin linger on his features as Lark insisted upon him joining him, starting off at a pace that Tordo grew to match. His brother would tease him as Tor gave a light shake of his head. “No, I suppose not.” He jested in return as his eyes hinted at curiosity.
