note to sonticus wolves, this was set before the pack move

The morning had been spent laying out in the sun and enjoying the new season that spread over the lands, clear blue skies, sun nice and hot but the wind keeping a steady cool breeze so you didn't overheat. This would be nicer weather for the two yearlings, able to stay out longer than they usually do and having more prey to replenish themselves. The girl would make a mental note that after a day out with Mingan and some talking, then they would start heading out in search of her family once more. Perhaps go farther than they did last time, being stronger now actually giving them that push.

Mingan had gotten much bigger throughout the season. Though he thought about his mother all the time, he wondered what his brother's were doing. Though he and Alvin had a very bad quarrel a while back, he still cared about him since he was family. The scent of many prey animals surrounded his nostrils, causing his stomach to growl in anticipation for a morsel to fill it. Dual colored eyes scanned the proximity of the area that he was hunting, but, the only prey he happened to see were a bunch of crows, and, due to experience, crow was the last thing he wished to eat due to eating so many of them.

He approached onward, walking back over to the cave that occupied his lover, a small smile stretching across his maw. There was a lake nearby that was unoccupied, and they could have as much fish as they wanted until their bellies were full.

He nudged her muzzle, a smile still staying there, "If we go for a meal, I would suggest fish. There is not that much prey around here as of yet," he explained.

Mingan came in with a nuzzle to her snout, making the girl return the action and adding a lick to his cheek. Ears perked up as he spoke, nodding her head and stretching out her legs. ”That sounds fine, I could work on my fishing skills anyway.” She chuckled, standing up and rubbing along the male's side as she exited the den. Once out Zisa would give herself a quick shake and stretch her back legs, jaws opening in a wide yawn. ”Nice today, don't you think?” Purple gaze looked over her shoulder at the boy, smiling as she turned away, ushering him to follow with a flick of her tail and roll of her shoulders.

”Perhaps we could go for a swim too, that would be nice.” She spoke aloud, half to herself and half suggesting to her companion as they walked towards where the lake was located. Fish should be around the waters around this time she hoped, and if they didn't find much then surely they could hunt some squirrels to snack on then possibly swim. She looked towards Mingan with the smile still there. ”Keep an eye out for squirrels too!.”

Mingan smiled and gave a small chuckle. He enjoyed being around Zisa as his alabaster canines were shown slightly. Swimming and squirrels, eh? He was sure he could make that happen for his lass, his smile still stretched across his maw as dual colored eyes shown both happiness, as well as sparkling slightly from the sun. The smell of the fish surrounded his nostrils from the lake, but, he was used to it since he had been fishing for a while ever since his mother taught him before her death.

"I'm sure the squirrels would fear you, Zisa. To me, you seem like the type to take chances and have fun at the same time," a look of happiness surrounding him as he nudged her and took in her scent. He soon walked onward and smiled, looking at her, "Also, maybe i can even teach you fishing unless you have already learned the skill." He smiled.

"Fear me, right!" Barking loudly on purpose, the girl would lower her skull and quickly look around with a devious little grin, waiting to see or hear any squirrels fleeing at the sudden noise. There was nothing though, so with a chuckle the young girl looked back towards Mingan as he spoke again. He said how she looked to be the kind to have fun with what she did, making her wink playfully. "Why not? A little fun is nice, keeps a good mood." Being in a decent mood helped things move around better, kept you focused, mostly.

It wouldn't take long for them to reach the shoreline, Zisa bounding forward a few paces then stopped to look back at Mingan with a big smile. "Yeeeah, you'll have to show me. I kind of, just, flail around till I'm lucky enough to snag one." Head tilted to the side, a paw lifting off the ground and rubbing at her chest. The girl knew nothing about fishing, sure she tries a few times but more time was spent getting soaked than actually catching anything. "Lessons would be appreciated, especially by you." A shyness made its way into her voice at that, ears moving to the side in a bit of embarrassment.

Mingan looked to Zisa and nodded his head, and, after a short while, he managed to reach the shoreline with her in tow. He chuckled and looked to the water, seeing some fish swimming in the water close by them. He sighed and looked at the fish, dipping his mouth halfway into the water, keeping his nose above water as best he could. When the young brute felt scales brush underneath his teeth, he snapped down quickly as the fish wiggled his his mouth, causing him to topple over, but he managed to hold it within his mouth as his canines easily crushed the small, delicate bones as it soon lay motionless and placed the morsel in front of her.

"Go ahead and eat, Zisa. It may be different than squirrel or dear, but it fills you up just the same," he laughed and lied down, watching the water and the sky, "It sure is beautiful, but, not as pretty as you," he spoke, his voice rather shy yet flattering.

She would sit on the shore while Mingan moved towards the water, tail little thumping against the ground in excitement. Fish wasn't what she was used to, but it was another prey item that she could consume so she didn't have a problem with eating it here and there. Purple eyes focused on him as he dipped his jaws into the water, patiently waiting for the fish as they swam by and when got just close enough he was able to snap his jaws around it. "Good one!" She barked encouragingly, paws doing small little hops against the ground.

He would lay the fish down and tell her to eat, that it was still good even if it was different from what she was used to. Hesitant at first, the girl didn't want to eat the fish since he had caught it, but once he lay down and looked to the sky she just shook her head with a smile and dug in. A few good sized chunks had been pulled by time Mingan spoke again, complimenting the weather and then herself. Quickly Zisa looked over, a little surprised and embarrassed at the flattery. "Th-thank you..." She said softly, clearing her throat before pushing the rest of the fish towards him. "You look nice too..." She said softly, feeling a bit awkward for not coming up with something better to say.

Mingan smiled and gave a small chuckle, "Thank you," he walked over to her and lied down beside her, soon eating the fish that Zisa had not eaten. He closed her eyes and listened to the sound of the water that was near them. That was when he decided to play around. He approached the water and, with a quick swipe of his paw, smacked the water and went to hit the water over at Zisa. He laughed and smiled, eyes showing happiness as his smile stayed upon his muzzle, waiting for Zisa to make a move.

While Mingan moved over to lay at her side, Zisa would feel a flutter of butterflies in her stomach at how close he was. Sure, they shared a den, but that was just sleeping and it wasn't like they laid all over each other. With a deep breath she tried to conceal, the girl would stand after a moment and glance down the shoreline, just seeing if anyone else decided to come in for the lake. While doing this she wouldn't notice the male moving away, jumping as a splash of cold water hit her in the side. "H-hey!" She barked, quickly shaking herself off and turning with a mischievous little smirk, legs spread and tail swinging. "You'll pay for that boy!" Staring him down for a moment she would quickly lunge at the water, jumping in ankle high and using a paw to send a little wave of water back at him with a laugh.

Mingan laughed and smiled, continuing to splash her with water. He was happy to be around her and everything he did, he wanted to be with her for the rest of his life. He approached her and licked his cheek, using that as a surprise enough to tackle her down into the water, happiness fluttered around him as the water dripped off his coat and his eyes sparkled whenever he was around her. When he saw her eyes, he couldnt help but blush underneath his fur, however, he helped her stand up from the water.

A thus a splashing war seemed to start, the two wolves going back at forth with sending water into the air at each other. But then out of nowhere Mingan came over and licked her cheek, a knot instantly formed in her stomach, the butterflies growing in intensity. And before she knew what was going on, Zisa was suddenly submerged in the water with the boy standing over her, feeling droplets fall onto her chest. A look of surprise was plastered on her face, unsure of what to say or how she should react to this. And then he was helping her up, in silence she would accept and rise to sit in the water, clearing her throat and giving a small shake of herself to get the water off. "O-okay then..." She spoke softly, a blush forming beneath the fur along her cheeks. She'd plant a quick kiss to his cheek and stand, moving out of the water quickly and onto the shore as fast as possible.
