It had been the humiliating loss at the raid that pushed the young Destruction child towards the blood stained fields that would forever stand as a symbol of those who fought to get what they wanted. He brought himself out there for something simple: a spar. If he could prove to himself that he could win against someone, maybe he wouldn’t feel as bad for the loss in an attempt to protect his homeland. He would take a deep breath, calming his mind as he waited out on the fields, looking intently for a challenger to face off against. He was thinking something simple, two rounds, no holding back.

It was dumb to think that his father and brothers and cousins held back from him during fight training when, in fact, they didn’t. He wouldn’t think something pretentious like that until he got a grasp for what those outside the pack fought like, hence him not seeking out Aslan or Félicien for a round or two of a tussle, but instead a complete stranger. He knew the risks of coming to the battlefield, but he was willing to take those risks.

He had some of his defenses preset as he looked around, his haunches and hackles raised, his head brought closer to his body though not all of his defenses were set. He would wait to set those for when he had an opponent to face off against.

There was much to think about after the meeting and still so much to take in. There was Imperium itself, her fellow packmates as well as her role within the pack. Slowly she was becoming acquainted with her fellows but she could feel this lurking pressure hanging over her, the pressure to do well and show them her worth. Birna knew she was an experienced fighter but in a pack of so many skilled wolves she was beginning to feel rather average.

The woman took a deep breath of summer air and sighed contentedly as she arrived at the battlefield. She quickly went in search of a possible opponent and it didn't take her long to find one. A fair-sized cream-colored young man. She observed him for a moment before dipping her head in greeting. "Are you looking to spar? I'm in need of an opponent."

Yay! Fate takes the first move.

It did not take Fate much waiting for a woman to come into view. He noted her monochromatic, remaining all shades of grey up to the shade of white with the exception off strange marks underneath her eyes. She was larger, and older, but Fate was not deterred from the challenge that he was presented with. “Yes, I too am looking for a spar.” He left his tone neutral as he decided he would take the first move. He would give only a few seconds of a grace period before he rushed towards the woman, setting his defenses into line as he plotted out his attacks for the larger woman.

His tail fell in line with his spine, his head doing the same before he scrunched his neck to protect it from whatever attacks she might throw at him. His toes splayed out as he ran, his knees bending to lower his center of gravity. His claws lightly scraped at the ground as he ran; ready to use them to his defense if they were needed. His hackles were raised as well as his haunches as he bared his teeth. His eyes narrowed and his ears were slid back to lower the amount of mass there was to hit at on his body.

He would rush towards her right side, attempting to hook her right leg with his left paw, hoping to mess with her balance. He redistributed his weight to account for the lifting of his leg. He also aimed a bite at her lower pectoralis on her right side, a feral snarl from his jaw as he also aimed to slam on her front right paw with his back left one.

The man confirmed Birna's request and she quickly set her defenses. Her head and tail lowered gracefully to align with her spine. Her chin tucked and her neck scrunched back as her shoulders rolled forward in an effort to protect her throat. Birna's hackles raised and she moved her limbs equidistant apart, her weight spreading evenly across the limbs which coiled tightly ready to spring. Her toes spread wide, claws digging into the earth as she snarled, the action bunching the flesh of her face. Her ears pinned tightly to her head, eyes narrowing as she watched her opponent for the first move.

The man charged, coming up on Birna's right side, perpendicularly aligned with her body just behind her right shoulder where he was coming in low, aiming to bite the pectoralis muscle in her lower right side just behind her right elbow. However, Birna had no intention of standing still and as the man started to make his move she prepared hers as well. As Fate charged Birna would shuffle her feet to move her hindquarters to her own left with the intent on bringing herself parallel and facing Fate head on. As he dove for her underside Birna's jaws would widen her head tilting to her left and down as she dove, seeking to catch the upper front of Fate's face in her jaws and not only get a solid grip but hopefully halt the man's attack [counter]. She would aim to land her fangs just above his eyes hoping she could tear into the flesh enough that she'd cause blood to pool in his eyes and temporarily blind him. She also hoped that her upward angle would prevent her lower jaw from spraining in this attack.

In addition to her fangs Birna's back legs would spread a little wider, her weight shifting evenly, her tail stretching behind her for added balance as she attempted to lift her left foreleg seeking to throw it over the back of Fate's neck, just behind his skull with the intent of putting her hefty weight on his neck in a desire to strain it. As she moved she felt his left forepaw wrap around her right wrist, pulling the paw off the ground just as she moved to lift the limb for another attack. Her previous shift in weight managed to prevent her from falling over and also lifted her right forepaw out of the way of Fate's left back paw. Birna went with the motion seeking to pull her right forepaw up and out of Fate's grasp so that she could reach it behind Fate's left forelimb, right below the elbow with the intention of pulling the limb towards herself. She hoped this movement coupled with her bite and weight throw might bring the man belly down in the dirt.

Thank you sooooo much for not defaulting <3 PM me if you have any questions because I'm still a bit sick so my writing isn't the best :P

Fate had his hackles and haunches raised, his eyes were narrowed and neck scrunched like they had been when the fight began.  He had his weight distributed equally with his legs spread out to lower his center of gravity.

Fate was ready for whatever she had to throw at him, that much the Destruction child was fairly confident. It was almost like redemption for his embarrassing act at the raid and how he had failed to protect his homeland. The woman would react to his lunges and attacks, moving to counter with her own as she tried to parallel herself to him and face him head on. When he dove and she attempted to grab at his face between her jaws, he reared back, rolling across his back in a fluid motion directly away from her. He had his legs tucked up to protect his underside before he rolled back onto them, unfolding them so he was himself to his paws, letting his defenses set again as he snarled. She had succeeded in thwarting his attack though he was determined to lay a hit on her.

With his roll away from her, he avoided her attempt to temporarily blind him. He rushed towards her again, her foreleg being thrown over his neck which gave him slight pains and minor bruising was sure to develop, though Fate’s scrunched neck prevented a spraining as Birna hit mostly the fatty defense, he was far enough back when the attack hit that her paw did not quite wrap around his neck. He would push up, lifting his front two paws off the ground in a rear (like a horse bucking) to try and throw the woman backwards onto the ground while also attempting to turn his neck to snap at her lower paw on her leg. He smirked when his left forepaw wrapped around her wrist and pulled the paw off the ground though his attempt was soon proven to be an enemy was well.

Birna managed her attack, pulling her right forepaw out of his grasp and she wrapped it around his left forelimb. He hoped that he could use it. He would throw the rest of his weight evenly on his three paws as he attempted to slam his body into her in an attempt to knock her down.

As her head dived downward the man would pull a strange maneuver flipping onto his back and then back onto his feet.  She was surprised enough to watch the motion rather than diving in for his underbelly, carefully checking her defenses.  Her skull aligned with her spine, her chin tucked, neck scrunched back and shoulders rolled forward.  Hackles stood on end her toes splayed wide, claws tearing into the earth as her jaws parted, the flesh of her brow bunching as her eyes narrowed and her ears pinned to her head.  If he thought he could catch her completely unaware he was a greater fool than he realized.

As he came at her again her previous attacks connected her left forelimb hitting the back of his neck at the base and slipping quickly back down to the ground having not been able to wrap around it like she'd wanted, her greater weight immediately spreading evenly across the three limbs, tail spreading out as a rudder and her abdomen tensing. Her right forepaw managed to wrap around his left elbow.  Fate would charge forward, the full of his chest slamming into the lower portion of her chest where moderate bruising was sure to occur but her three-grounded limbs and superior weight  kept her upright. The grip on his left elbow helped as well.  As she had not been flipped his fangs were a good ways away from her hind paws and he would fail to bite into one and she grinned violently.  It was her turn now.  Birna's powerful back legs uncoiled rapidly as her right forepaw released his elbow, seeking the ground so that she could propel herself with all four limbs, he wasn't going to get away from her this time.

The bear woman charged forward, her body shifting lower and just slightly to her own left as she sought to lance the front of  her right shoulder forward into the grove where Fate's left shoulder met his left sided chest.  She hoped not only to sprain the limb but to topple the man as he was already raised.  At the exact same time she launched her shoulder forward her head darted forward as well, ivory fangs gleaming as  her head tilted to her own left, jaws seeking the mans throat, right below his lower jaw.  Her upper fangs seeking to pierce the flesh just under his right-sided jaw, the lower fangs seeking to pierce the flesh just under his left-sided jaw.  She wanted a powerful grip from which she could choke this fool and end this fight.

FATE vs BIRNA for SPAR

ROUND ONE

FATE

CLARITY
- 2 “He would rush towards her right side” Were they perpendicular? Head on? If they were head on, did he circle? You have to make this clear so your opponent can respond properly and fairly

ROUND TWO

FATE

CLARITY
- 2 “her foreleg thrown over his neck” How exactly did he have enough time to roll away to avoid a bite AND have half her attack land??
- 2 “He would push up in a rear” How is this mean to throw her off balance? Is he trying to push her? Is it just the rear up? You are 10 inches shorter than her, there is now way rearing would cause her to lose balance without trying to shove, or pushing, or something more.
- 2 “To snap at her lower paw on her leg” Which paw?
- 2 “He smirked when his left for forpaw wrapped around her wrist” You said you were just in a rear. If you rolled away before your previous attack attempt how in the world did you have time/is it possible for this to actually land.
Total: 2

POWERPLAY
- 5 General pping/unrealistic dodging. There is no way you could outright avoid Birna’s counter and still get back in time to finish half of your attack that happens at the same time as your bite and have half of her attack land when the bear hug happened at the same time as the face bite. This is far too much movement and it is entirely unrealistic.

FATE must give up by submitting, fleeing or passing out.

Damage:

FATE
Unavoidable bite to face, moderate lacerations – 2 OOC weeks

BIRNA

Notes:

Tips for writing and some suggestions. (no points are deducted here):

TOOTH
Please read comments. There is only so much time in a move and you MUST counter with realism. Watch defenses as well.

Luns
Another excellent spar, keep up the good work.
