Maeva marched southward, her half-brother just a few steps behind her. It was the last section of Alacritis that she really needed to search. Her nostrils flared as she took in as much scent as she could, sifting through the air for any sign of Eilan. She was skirting near a pack border when suddenly she caught the scent of her wayward son. Her heart was hammering in her chest as she eyed the pack border. "Oh, someone is going to d-" She paused, eyes narrowing as she realized the scent was leading away from the border and further more it was joined with the scent of his father, Rúdolfr Rakshiel…. Oh, yes, someone was going to die…
Turning sharply away from the border she raced past her brother, hot on the trail. "Hurry up sloth! I've got their scent!"

Lyndvarr trailed after his sister, feeling himself grow more and more nervous as he watched her marching straight toward a pack border. He was fairly certain she'd stop to howl….. fairly certain. But when she spoke he felt his hackles raise. If her son was within the packlands then he knew Maeva would have no problem marching right into the heart of the pack, battling everyone in sight til she found him and expect Lynd to help every step of the way. Not his idea of a good time… However, it seemed she found the scent she was looking for and soon they were off in search of the boy who was Lynd's nephew…. it was a strange thought, all of it was so strange but he didn't bother to let himself get to attached, knowing that Maeva would soon be on her way. Just as she always was. Walk, "Talk" Think |

The journey had been quiet but not uncomfortable. After a few little hunting tips Rudy and Eilan were settled into a lazy stroll through the terra. Almandine was half-asleep on his back, the sun spilling across the grass. It really was a lovely day and while so far the conversation had been mostly small talk Rudy could feel himself becoming attached to the boy. How in the world had he managed to walk away from this?
Claws lightly pricked his back, and he froze, realizing that Alma was wide awake and looking behind them. "Um… Rudy, I think someone's coming." She sprang from his back, skittering away.
Rudy turned in time to see Maeva. Oh merciful heavens…

Eilan was chattering lightly about his expeditions in hunting small game, grinning as Rudy would nod, laugh or encourage him to go on with his stories. This was everything he could've dreamed of but… but he knew it would come to an end eventually and he wasn't sure how he was going to break this news to his mother. As if on cue he saw Rudy's cat tense and he turned as his father did in time to see his mother barreling straight for them. "Wait, mom, don't!" He could barely get the words out as his parents collided.

"BASTARD!" Maeva shrieked at the top of her lungs as her fangs ripped into her former lover. The two collided in a flurry of fur until, one nice ass bite on the man later, she managed to pin him on his back, her jaws just waiting to rip his throat open. Saliva dripped from her fangs but try as she might she just couldn't bring herself to go through with it. "How dare you…. how dare you take my son from me." She could feel her voice starting to waiver but she held it in check. She was a shieldmaiden after all. She would not show weakness.

"Stop it!" Eilan yelled as he tried to pull his parents apart but it was just no use. "Mom don't! I ran away he didn't steal me! Please get off him!" His backlegs kicked out and he shoved against her, knocking her off his father. Tears were welling up in his eyes. "Please… I just wanted to know about him. He told me that he didn't know you were pregnant. He didn't know anything about me, why? You both owe me some answers." His voice grew in strength. "Now both of you need to stop trying to kill each other long enough to give me some dam answers. Dad and I were just about to go fishing…. mom, why don't you join us? Let me explain, I have so much to tell you."

Rudy slowly got to his feet, his left butt-cheek bleeding heavily. Yup… same old Maeva. Zowie… He listened as Eilan spoke, eyes turning to Maeva. "Maeva…. I really am truly sorry if I hurt you. Had I known… why didn't you tell me?" Rudy suddenly was aware of the presence of another male and he turned to stare at Lyndvarr. "Umm…"

Maeva looked away, struggling to process the fact that her ex-lover was so near to her now. Everything from their past was suddenly welling up. She gazed at her son and back and Rudy then back to her son. He was growing up so fast… She took a deep breath. "Ok… ok, I agree. And you will explain to me who told you about Rudy in the first place, and where you were and…." She struggled to keep her anger in check before it suddenly collapsed in relief as she rushed over to Eilan, nuzzling and licking him. "I was so worried! So worried! You ornery thing…. you're too much like your father."
Rudy seemed to notice her brother and she turned to Lynd. "Ah, yes. This is Lyndvarr, my half-brother…. I suppose this is goodbye then, huh brother?" She smiled softly.

Lyndvarr stayed well out of the way as the reunion took its course. He'd forgotten how explosive and driven by her emotions Maeva could be. This encounter only served as a reminder. It was strange to look at his nephew and stranger still to watch Maeva's shift to tears and concern. He was really only used to seeing anger and confidence from the fiery woman. "Yea, I guess it is. I really should be getting back and you three have a lot to talk about. I wish you the best on your travels." After a few more words they parted ways. Walk, "Talk" Think |
