Where was that brother of hers? Seemed like one moment he was there and the next he had just vanished. His missing presence had shifted her into somewhat of a funk. Food wasn't tasting right, it seemed like it was always raining. Which it was raining, that gross drizzle where you're wet on the outside and not on the inside but it make syour fur feel weird? Yeah, that kind of rain. She felt like a miserable drowned rat, it didn't help that the stupid delta was flooded. She was covered in mud and muck.. She couldn't have looked all that astounding. Especially with the dirt blending so well into her coat. Ugh she was a mud monster for sure.

Huffing the woman would continue inland, she wanted dry land, she wanted warmth, she wanted... not rain. As her paws carried her she'd attempt to shake off the wet and gunk. Thankfully the rain was slowly replacing mud. As long as she could stay out of a big mud puddle she was going to be alright. All her focus would go into not taking a wrong step, she would let her guard down. No one was going to be out here in the terrible rain anyway. She'd be alright on her own for now. Hopefully Rowan would show up soon.

He had been taught at a very early age that the job had to be done no matter what. Rain or shine, heat or cold, the job had to get done at all costs. Miserable conditions were nothing strange to the vagabond, but that didn't mean that he enjoyed them. It seemed that mother nature knew that trouble had wandered in, his arrival bringing with it a lovely shower of rain. Of course, it couldn't just be a light sprinkle, it had to be close to a torrential downpour. He took it all in stride, hardly batting an eyelash as the water rained down on him, soaking his mahogany charcoal stained pelt. Mud squelched beneath his paws as he wandered through, jade eyes cutting through the downpour. There wasn't a sign of life to be seen out in the rain, which wasn't unusual. Most creatures didn't enjoy an unexpected bath, so they retreated to their shelters to seek refuge. The rain didn't show any signs of letting up, so it was probably best that he seek shelter as well, lest he develop a cold in this strange new land. He highly doubted that was the case, his training having strengthened his immune system well enough that a common cold couldn't catch him unaware.

Over streams and running bodies of water the man went, moving farther and farther into the island in search for dry land. He found it odd that he had yet to run into any other wolves in this island. Surely there was a main land where wolves could come from to visit the island? The rumor that a cousin of his was lingering in this territory had brought him here, but he didn't think that he'd run into him on an island; that was far too easy. Besides, if he ran into his cousin that quickly it would be no fun. He wanted to seek out his cousin, hunt him if you will. Now that sounded much more entertaining. While thoughts of finding his cousin took his attention, he almost missed what his nose was trying to tell him. The second his brain registered the scent he came to a halt, his nose quivering as he honed in on the scent, charcoal lips curving upwards in a smirk as he realized there was another wolf nearby; a ragazza to be more exact. This was about to get interesting.

Almost instinctively he would shift into a hunter's stance, the movement happening without him really having to think about it. Powerful limbs would bend, bringing his body low to the ground, his belly nearly brushing the mud. He would slink into the brush, using the sound of the rain to disguise the sound of his movements, though he was careful not to go out of his way to make more sound than needed. Sharp jade eyes would scan through the brush as he moved, catching sight of the ragazza that he'd scented. He would slow his movements down so that he moved almost at a snail's pace, crawling along the mud as he stalked the she-wolf. She was alone from what he could scent and that made this all the more fun.

Dahlia wasn't just crashing through the tall grass at least, her long limbs carried her easily through the damp (well soaked by now) landscape just as easily as if it were dry. She felt herself sink slightly into the mud, while she was tall she didn't hold any massive weight. Those thoughts would interrupt her annoyance at Rowan's missing-ness. Her striped tail would flick with unease, while she felt comfortable out here on her own everything was just weird with out her litter mate. She wasn't paying enough attention to catch the scent of the stranger behind her, but her nose was too the wind anyway. Always looking forward and never back. In some aspects of her life, she followed that religiously, but in others.. like when she was being stalked from behind, it didn't even cross her mind to do otherwise.

So the young woman would continue, searching for only one other wolf. Oblivious to the potential dangers behind her. She'd continue to complain about the rain internally and curse Rowan's name while she was at it. She'd blame all of it on him, the rain, her discomfort.. If he was by her side she would have never gotten stuck out in the damn drizzle. She'd have been curled in a nice den somewhere taking a snooze.

The young ragazza remained unaware of his presence as she trotted through the muck, blissfully ignorant that she was being stalked. It seemed almost too good to be true, he would think to himself as he continued to follow her, snaking through the brush to keep pace with her. Could she have already scented him but decided to string him along, pretending to not know he was there in order to trick him into revealing himself to her? It was possible, though he doubted that was the case. He was a stranger here, no one knew the reputation that proceeded him, so they didn't know to protect themselves from him. There was two ways this could go: he could either A) surprise her and be the bad guy or he could pretend as if he was lost (which he somewhat was) and play the charming stranger that would help her seek shelter from this godforsaken rain. The second option seemed to be the more entertaining of the two.

He would pull himself back, letting her get a ways ahead of him before he would slip out from the brush, allowing his body to relax as he stood to his full height once again. A moment would be taken to compose himself, wiping any hint that would give away his more malicious side, fixing himself up to look like a handsome stranger who needed some help. Once satisfied he would start after her, not bothering to hide the sounds of his approach as he came up behind her. She was a beauty of he'd seen any and suddenly he found himself wanting to claim her as his own, bend that body of hers to his will. He schooled his face carefully to avoid those thoughts from showing in his face before he called out to her. Mi scusi, ma'am. Sono uno po 'perso. Puoi dirmi dove mi trovo ? He understood english, which he was taking a wild guess was the common tongue here, but he figured that playing that foreign stranger card would probably work better in his favor, especially with a young woman such as she. Women tended to fall for the whole accent much better than men.

She hadn't noticed him, nor was she any kind of aware of his presence for a long time. Her trek would continue, partially hoping to find out her brother and the other part looking for a place she might seek shelter under. Neither goal seemed anymore likely than the other, especially in a place as flat and muddy as this. She'd continue diligently, not wanting to waste any time here, where she was obviously going to find nothing. The rain did an excellent job of hiding the sounds around her, though the one that followed her tried nothing to hide himself now she still took a long moment to realize there was someone behind her. Of course, she'd get her hopes up. Her heart would jump in her chest at the hopefulness of seeing Rowan behind her, but as she turned she'd realize even before anything was said that this was not her sibling.

She'd stop with a sudden start, she hadn't expected it to not be her brother and for a long moment she was stunned into silence. She didn't have to worry though, with little effort the wolf offer up words. Either he was speaking a different language or was incredibly difficult to understand. She caught the word 'ma'am' in there somewhere so she knew that he was speaking to her, but other than that all he'd get was a blank stare. She might have been a bit more friendly if she wasn't soaked and covered in mud, but as it was she was also still shocked that he was not someone she recognized. Not that Dahlia could recall anyone in these lands anyway. She knew Rowan, that was about it. "Um, what?" The woman would finally ask, her confusion written plainly on her features as she tilted her head. Had she felt a little more attractive herself her eyes might have already started to devour him, but as it was physical relations were the last thing on her mind.

His assumption about the native tongue around here had been correct, the ragazza's lack of understand of his own native tongue bringing amusement to the man. He chuckled to himself, a hearty laugh that sounded genuine to the untrained ear, a hint of embarrassment touching his voice as he spoke up again. Mi scusi. he rumbled, clearing his throat as he called upon his knowledge of the english tongue. I am new here. Could you tell me where I am? His italian was heavy in his words as he spoke and he briefly wondered if she would be able to understand him. He had spoken as clearly as he could, enunciating as much as possible. He could speak the little english that he knew perfectly, without so much of a trace of an accent, but playing up his accent could gain him sympathy from the she-wolf. Perhaps she would take pity on the stranger who'd happened upon her, with his rough english, and help him find his way around the new land.

Though the water weighed her pelt down and the mud mixed well with her dark coat, he knew she was a looker. The markings along her delicate face were already intriguing enough as it was and he could only wonder what other markings decorated her svelte frame that he couldn't see because of the dampness of her coat. He took an experimental whiff as he stood waiting to see what she would make of his answer, filling his nostrils with her scent. She smelled of herself, of rain, mud and nothing else. He couldn't pick up the distinctive taste of other wolves that would tell him she was part of a pack, nor could he pick out the scent of a male that would tell him she was mated. His interest in her only grew with each passing moment, but he was careful to keep up his charming stranger rouse. He had to gain her trust first.

Her confusion seemed to bring him a bit of amusement, she would grump slightly as he laughed at her. It seemed he had indeed been speaking in a completely different language, the way he pronounced words were weird and she wondered just how far away he might have been from. He was just as new as she was, at least that's what she would assume. They were in the same boat though, Dahlia had no idea where she was except that there was a beach and her brother... he was around here somewhere. She had to say, this stranger had it worse off than she did. He seemed to have difficulties in her tongue, but she wasn't even sure if the rest of these lands talked like she did. "I can't actually." She'd tell him, with a little bit of sympathy, but she was in the same place she couldn't spare too much for him. "I haven't been here long myself, the name is Eva." She'd offer him her self-given nickname. She hadn't gotten a chance to use it yet, and it slid off her tongue perfectly.

She'd allow herself to better look at him now, though he was just as wet and muddy as herself she didn't miss the deep maroon of his pelt, and those bright green eyes. They held an alluring danger that made her curious. Almost like Summet's eyes... It was bad to think about him, but occasionally her older half brother made his way into her mind. He held a cornerstone position in the development of her personality, so with that at least she had to thank him. Dahlia would find herself shifting her weight from one paw to the other, not out of nervousness but haste rather. She wanted to either be out of the rain or with Rowan.

He could tell that she hadn't liked when he'd laughed at her confusion, but he saw that it didn't upset her greatly or else he assumed she would've made a bigger deal about it. She looked just as clueless if not more than he did (though it was all an act after all) about where they were currently situated, so it was of no surprise when she confirmed that she didn't know anything that would be of use to him. She seemed to sympathize with him, explaining that she too was in the situation as he, having only been in the new lands for not very long. He would grin to himself when she provided a name without his prompting. That was good. She seemed to be very forthcoming and that was something that he could work with once he got in good with her.

He would allow his ears to fall back just a bit, taking on a look of dismay, as if he'd been hoping that she would be able to help him. He would take a look around, as if he were thinking or perhaps deciding something before he would turn back to her. Would you like to get out of the rain? He asked with his thick italian accent, looking hopeful that she would take up his offer. So far things seemed to be going well. She was receptive to him and the rouse that he was playing, so he would keep it up to see just exactly it would take him. It probably wasn't a smart idea for a damsel like her to be alone with a man like him, but he was a good man. At least he looked the part.

She wouldn't miss the disappointment in his features as she mentioned that there was going to be no help from her. Dahlia wasn't lost, but she didn't know where she was either. After that he was quick to see if she needed shelter, and he wouldn't get away with not giving her his name back. Even if she'd offered a 'fake' one. She'd daringly step closer to him, their similarities in height even more obvious at close distances. "I would love to get out of the rain." She'd tell him as she did a little pirouette so instead of her features facing him he'd get her tail. "But not with a man whose name I don't know." Dahlia would add with an amused grin, she might have been soaking wet but she wasn't about to let go of her teasing attitude. With a flick of her tail she'd again remove herself from his grasp, unsure what kind of name might fall from his lips.

Surprisingly the little woman would take a daring step towards him, bringing herself dangerously close to him, clearly unafraid of him. Not very smart of her, but who was he to tell her that? She would concur that she would love to get out of the rain, spinning herself around so that her rear was presented to him, very much the position that he had been imagining her in for the past few minutes. The little temptress. She seemed willing enough to go with him, except she wanted something from him first; his name. He chuckled to himself as she flipped her tail at him before moving out of his reach. Perhaps she was smarter than he gave her credit for. He would wait until she turned to look at him again before making his introduction.

With a grand gesture he would extend his right foreleg out while his left foreleg bent so that he was bowing before her. Scarlatti. Arsen Scarlatti. he would rumble in his heavy italian tongue, bringing himself to stand once more to his full height, his jade eyes dancing with dark intent as he suddenly brushed past her. He would throw a gentle nip at the base of her ear as he moved along, plowing along through the rain, knowing that she would follow. He would keep his pace even, not too slow and not too fast, waiting for her to catch up.

Dahlia didn't hesitate to throw an eager glance back over her shoulder at the wolf as he sought her gaze. In all the grandeur she could have expected from him, his regal form dropped into a low bow. She'd grin like mad, completely pleased with his show. With that he'd give her his name, and she couldn't help but to believe him genuine. Before she could continue her teasing and run off, he was blowing past her towards what she hoped was acceptable shelter. She'd shake her head in disbelief as he nipped her ear, bringing forth a surprised squeal from her dark lips. She'd replace it with a frustrated growl as she raced after him, eager to nip at his hips in retaliation as they surged forth in the rain. It didn't matter the darkness she'd glanced in his gaze, their game was too much fun to worry. "You'd better run, Scarlatti." 'Eva' would offer in her best Italian impression.

There were many things that the mafia taught him and there were things that he just sort of learned on his own. One of the things he learned on his own was not taking everything or everyone at face value. If he was conniving enough to make himself into whoever he was talking to wanted him to be, who was to say that other people wouldn't do the same? He was never trusting of new people. Ever. He always took everything that came out of their mouth to be a lie, regardless if that was true or not. It helped him to stay on his toes and to be wary; mafia members made enemies easily.

His nip to her ear was met with a surprised squeal and he would smirk to himself in satisfaction. Surely he could make her squeal like that again some time soon. Immediately after her squeal was overtaken with a growl of frustration as she raced after him, her own jaws making contact with his hips in retaliation. He would bite back the growl of pleasure that rolled in his chest at her touch, not wanting her to know just how much he'd enjoyed that. You'd better run, Scarlatti. She taunted him as she kept pace. A wicked smile would curve his ebony lips as he growled at her. Con piacere. He would take off with a burst of speed, very much intrigued by this game that they were playing while at the same time he kept an eye out for anything that might look like it could provide a suitable shelter from the rain. He doubted that there would be anything dry, unless they happened upon some deep set cave by chance but that didn't seem like a likely occurrence on an island.
