There seemed to always be a part of him that knew where to find his brother when he needed him. If he was ever to believe in anything of their birth right it would be the part that connected Voltage to him. It was a trait that came in handy as he moved away from his den and his sleeping little ones, and his yawning, tired, love. He was shocked, not just with what he had found out but how long it had taken him to see it. True, the pups hadn't been exploring the Donostrea lands for very long of yet, but he felt that his fatherly instincts should have known before his eyes and senses had at last told him.

His senses lead him to the borderline between their beach and prairie, where the high tide brushed against the grass with its swollen ripples, fat on the entire stretch of beach land it had swallowed. He would find Voltage sitting on a border over looking their sunken beach and the Titan would easily leap upwards and land beside him. He curled up against his brothers side, and would sit there in silence for a little while as his own eyes took in the ocean before them. When he did speak, it was the bare minimum, and surely enough for Voltage to understand his woes. “Aurora is deaf” He whispered. Was it his fault, as he believed? Was their something in his blood line that had lead to this disability? How much would Rory suffer in life because of this? How many times would Glacier be unable to protect his little girl from the life that would follow.

Voltage tended to watch the waters lately, as if just waiting to see them go away and to be able to yell in triumph to his family that they could return to their beloved beach! He took a deep breath of the ocean wind and tilted his head, watching the tide roll across the lands. There was a brief moment where he wondered why the beach was so perfect for them, well, for most of them. And then he remembered the island. They hadn't really lived on the beach there, but the ocean had always been a large part of their lives. Perhaps that was why they could survive pretty much solely on fish. He was chewing over that bone of thought when Glacier plopped beside him, and for once he was almost startled. Not really, but almost. Large stormy eyes looked up at his brother, and instantly everything else took a back burner when he saw Glacier's face. There was something bothering him, and as much as the ice king tried to pretend he might not have most emotions that living beings had, Volt could see them all. Confliction, sadness, regret and guilt. He hummed softly when it spilled out. Ah, so it finally happened.

"...So?" He asked, deadpan as he tilted his head to his brother. He knew the guilt that coursed through Glacier, and he knew his brother believed it was all his fault. Because, really, when did Glacier not believe that. They were the holders of their families destiny, in a way, and if something went wrong they constantly shouldered the blame even if it wasn't theirs to take. It was one of their flaws, and yet one of the most beautiful things about their existance. "She's still Aurora." He said softly, unsurprised in the least. He had known since they had first started to walk and talk and adventure, when they could leave their mother's side. Seraphiel was loud and bouncy, and Aurora was, well, bouncy but not as loud. "You don't need to hear to see the lights that paint the sky, you only need to see." He smiled softly, leaning against his brother's shoulder as he looked back out at the waves with a gentle sigh. "Why does it bother you, Glace? Has she become less in your eyes now that you know? Or do you still love her as equally and as strongly as you did before you finally noticed?"

Glacier blinked at volt's words, his calm, straightforward answer left Glacier in confusion. Of course, that confusion would puzzle into something else a moment later. Did Voltage already know? There was no surprise in his brothers tone, no judgment, nothing at all really, like there was nothing particular in Glacier's sentence. He wouldn't be surprised if Voltage had guessed before him, his brother after all knew everything that happened in their pack lands even before the titan. Must have something to do with his energy, his ability to be everywhere at once.

she's still Aurora “Of course she is” he agreed softly, he didn't love his sweet girl any less for her inability to hear. “I could not love her any less, no matter what, I'm not wired that way, you know that” he said softly. “I fear for her future, for things she might struggle in, i'm afraid I might fall short at the task of teaching her, and all and any hardships that might fall upon her will be my fault, and mine alone. I want her to know nothing but love and joy and ease in life, I don't want her to miss out on a single thing. I don't want any other wolf ever to look upon her and judge her. Of course, if any dared I would rip out their eyes” he growled.

Voltage would smile up at Glacier's puzzled expression. When would he learn? Of course Volt knew, he knew everything. Well, not everything, but he was very perceptive when it came to their family and pack. Each and every one of them. He's let his brother get his words out, just resting his cheek against his brother's shoulder and stared out at the rolling waves again. It would be tough for his brother, he understood that, but he seemed to forget sometimes that it wasn't just him against the world. He had Voltage, he would always have Voltage, and he had Ani and he had every Elementas out there. Aurora being deaf just meant they had to adapt and learn how to communicate in a different way.

He tilted his head slightly so he could look up at him, for once him smile settled into a gentle and contemplative line. "Oh brother." He said softly, his mouth turning up on one side."You know as well as I do that life will do what it wants, no matter how much we try and get in the way. We cannot let this make us baby her and protect her from the tides." He had learned a lot, his brows furrowing slightly. He knew this, he knew this well. "Or she may not know how to swim." He murmured, tilting his head down to look at the ground, leaning more against his brother. "Just cause she can't hear, does not mean she's any different. We will raise her to be larger than life, and strong. She will be able to defend herself from those downturned eyes because she will be above them. Others will have to look up to her, never down." He said softly, closing his eyes. "She will be amazing, reguardless of whether she can hear the praise or not."

He was so busy worrying over his baby girl he didn't expect the words Voltage spoke next. But of course, Voltage understood this better then anyone in the world. He understood the feeling of how fragile one's children are, and the need to protect them. He had lost those very things, those precious little creatures to the harsh realities of the world. “Oh Volt” he said softly, deflating a little as he spoke. Of course he couldn't baby Aurora, but it was terribly tempting to keep her close and chase away all the bad in the world.

Volt's next words where exactly what Glacier needed to hear. Of course his brother knew to say them, say them with conviction, say them like it was simply the way of the world. This was life, and this was how it would be. He leaned against his brothers side, taking comfort from Volt's presence. “Your the greatest gift I could have ever asked for” he said softly, knowing no one else in the world would ever understand him or be a part of him as Voltage was. His love for his brother was unique, and entirely different from the love he had discovered and grown for Anais and their little girls. He chuckled softly, now that Voltage had chased away his fears. “We are going to be amazing parents to her” he said, winking at his litter mate.
