It was a quiet day, a quiet time. Dahlia was nowhere to be seen, nowhere around, and that irritated Rowan. He was not in the best of moods; he did not want to go searching for his sister. But damnit, she'd get in so much trouble if he did not. Of course, her getting in trouble was far from exclusively without him. She got in trouble plenty of times, even with him around! They had started out going a little South, first, at his suggestion; they were then planning on going up and hitting the mountain range to the northeast, which was perfectly fine with him.
He paused when a scent drifted through his nose - a female, pushing through the grasses as well? She had the scent of many wolves, a communal scent - she was definitely part of a pack. "Hello?" he called softly, eyes looking for signs of passage. Being quite a bit taller, he was able to look through the grasses with ease; only the most tall of grasses blocked his view. It didn't tkae long to spot the breakage in the grass, and he set off for it slowly.

Rowan peered down through the grass, catching a flash of red. Oh? Would that be the wolf whom he was trying to find? It would be moments later that a piping voice spoke up, and he couldn't stop the laughter. Ha! That tiny, eh? Well, she definitely has a sense of humor. "Don't worry, little lady, I'll find you," he laughed, heading towards the sound of her voice. Seconds later, he saw another flash of red - perhaps that was the little lady he was searching for. His thoughts were confirmed when he emerged, and he found himself looking down on a wolf... a wolf who could easily walk under him, so tiny she was. "There you are! I found you at last, little lady." The nickname was bestowed easily, with no teasing - just a nonchalant name. "I'm Rowan Hawkeye. It's a pleasure to meet you," he introduced himself, smiling broadly. "What about you?" He'd ask what she was doing later.

What was that surprised expression at? The nickname, perhaps? Well, it fit. He wasn't going to change it, unless she truly had a problem with it - and from her laughter and no comment, it seemed likely she was more than fine with it. Then she spoke, introducing herself, and he blinked. Long name, that was. He wasn't surprised per se, but he certainly wasn't expecting such a long name. "It's a pleasure, Amalia," he returned, head dipping to the little lady. Wait, what? Eyes widening, he realized he had just said that! Ears flattening in embarrassment, he gave the red-and-white female a sheepish grin, one that fully communicated his thoughts on his mishap. Thankfully, she started talking again... about herbs. He visibly perked up, ears popping back up. Yarrow? He had passed some on the way! He grinned as referred to herself as little lady, and the wink made him chuckle. "Most assuredly, Amalia," he laughed softly. "I actually passed some making my way towards you; it's not a lot but where some grows, a lot more grows nearby."
