Even though the Forest bordered Imperium Valentine hadn't visited it in quite some time. There just wasn't anything worth seeing here and there never was. While not dead per se the Forest wasn't exactly "alive" either. It was bland, horribly boring and kind of dead looking. Honestly he'd only ever found it to be good for brooding. It was dark and a little creepy, and that make it a pretty good place to sulk, but that was all it was good for. There was nothing worth hunting on the ground since the branches blocked out most of the sunlight and allowed very little vegetation to grow. Really, the creep factor was its only bonus and that was really only a bonus if the traveler was a grump.

So why was he in a grumpy forest if he himself wasn't grumpy at that particular moment? Valentine didn't really have a good answer for that. Maybe he'd been hoping there would be some kind of improvement since the last time he'd visited. Surprise, surprise...there wasn't. Same old same old. The forest was as dark, damp and empty as it had been each time and every time he'd visited.

Perhaps he was bored.

Nah, that wasn't it. He had plenty to do, he just wasn't doing it. So what was it then? Restlessness, maybe. Valentine was itching to do something. He didn't know if he needed to hunt or fight or fuck, but he needed to do something. Maybe he could convince Cascade to go on another reconnaissance mission with him. Maybe, just maybe, this time he'd get lucky in more than one way.

Hm, nah, she probably wouldn't go for that. She'd been coming across as a little off lately and he wasn't sure what to make of it. Alright, so that wasn't an option then. What was a restless King to do?

His nose worked much better than most things, except that was the case for most wolves. This forest was so.... empty. It was almost be a perfect place for him to live, in tranquility. It almost described how he felt in every single moment of his life. Paws stepping against the forest floor, the scent and notion of another male suddenly brought his attention to life. He also recognized that scent - and of course his impression on the female that had bore the scent was not very impressing. The exotic colored male twitched the end of his tail, his brain would lie if he wasn't curious. However it was always hard to tell what Liar was thinking, or doing. He was unpredictable in his slight insanity. Approaching the male he made sure to let out a small bark so that the other knew of his presence. The massive darker male deserved some sort of respect from the looks of it so Liar dipped his head before he would speak in his emotionless voice. "What brings an imperium wolf to these desolate woods?" the man asked, keeping a fair distance away from him. He was always on edge after all, his survival was important. No matter how much he didn't feel he knew that much enough. "Talk"

A bark alerted him to the presence of another. Casually Valentine swung his head around in search of the barker. Upon spying the man Valentine's gaze slowly roved over him, taking in his unusualness. Unusual was a good word for him. The man was covered in weird blobby splotches. Other than that he was, as far as Valentine could tell, average in every other way.

"What brings an Imperium wolf to these desolate woods?" Valentine frowned. The stranger knew something about him and he knew nothing of the stranger. There was an unevenness there he didn't like. Granted, it was small thing, but it was still irksome. "His own business," he replied saucily. "What brings a nosy wolf to these desolate woods?"

Luckily for himself, it was difficult to offend him. In fact getting any emotion out of him was hard since of how he had been brought up. Though it seemed he had slightly upset the other man - and that he did not understand. However the fact that he spoke to him at all was a surprise. The other refused to answer and that was his own right. Liar would just answer himself. "Wandering." he looked around for a moment. His lime green eyes taking note of the surroundings. "My name is Liar Walker." Liar's monotoned voice introduced himself. He would probably leave this fairly soon - this imperium wolf just like the other hadn't had the best attitude towards him. Not that he cared much for it - he was curious about the pack. After all it reminded him of when he was with his father. As horrific as it was, it also formed him into what he was today. "Talk"

Wandering. Valentine grunted. Of course he was wandering. He doubt anyone came into the Forest for a good time; it wasn't like there was actually anything to do here. "Same," he finally conceded. "My name is Liar Walker." Upon learning the man's name Valentine quirked an eyebrow in amusement. Funny name for funny blotches. Valentine supposed he couldn't take too much amusement out of the man's odd moniker without traipsing into irony since his name was Valentine.

Alright, well, it was amusing enough to warrant some teasing. "Your mama name you that?" Teasing aside, there was a part of him that was genuinely curious about how a dude named Liar got named Liar of all things. That was like naming a kid Chastity or Rapist. It was asking for trouble. Hell, his name was Valentine and he was, surprise surprise, a bit of a horndog. At the very least that kind of moniker was asking for teasing. Hence the current teasing.

It was sad that he was unamusing and boring. Most teasing and jokes flew by him, and still he hadn't been able to fish this ones name or rank out. Liar had a really odd feeling it was high in the food chain though. This king knew for a fact when face to face to strong and powerful wolves of power. It was intriguing at the least, and thus far he had no idea if this man was hostile towards him or not. "My father did - strange isn't it. I hate the notion of lying." Liar still sounded less than amused. Well his whole life had been built around making sure his walls were made of steel. "I was curious about Imperium, so when I scented you I approached. I met a lady who belonged to the pack at a time." he quickly explained himself. His curiosity was just warranted by a whim, if he didn't get the information he wouldn't throw himself over it. "Talk"

Teasing was a lot less entertaining when the one being teased was unfazed by it. There was something about not being found irksome that just kind of sucked the enjoyment out of the whole process. He was tempted to try again. "Strange indeed," he said wryly, his comment directed more at the name itself than the notion that the brute found lying appalling, although that was funny too.

A lady of Imperium, eh? He wondered who that could be and was tempted to ask, but he didn't like the idea of a dude named Liar sniffing around Imperium and he had no intention of fostering that curiosity. "Yeah, we like to turn 'em loose every once in awhile. Let 'em roam for a bit. Keeps 'em from going crazy and biting off noses and shit," he said dryly.

Liar tended to piss many wolves off that he met. Even mates and lovers that he had, trying to provoke and get a reaction out of him. As a small huff of air left his mouth, he did find Imperium's comment amusing. It indeed did feel like home - but far less then that at the same time. "Instead they bite those elsewhere." Liar said as he settled down on his haunches. He wished he could give in, to the emotions. He wished that he was far more robust and robound. However his upbringing prevented that, and his train of thought quickly switched around. "Imperium seems like a strong place, reminds me dearly of home. I wouldn't be surprised if you were proud of it." Liar mused. Perhaps he should leave soon - imperium was getting cranky it seemed. Liar was never good company as it was unless you could read him well. His non caring attitude had even sparked someone to ask what was wrong with him at one time. "Talk"
