Getting into Trouble

Salamander was getting bored with the den, getting sick of dealing with his sisters teasing and his brothers bossiness. Today was one of his good days, he wanted to get out of the den and explore, to have some fun that would not be interrupted by his siblings. That was why he snuck out while mother was gone with father and his siblings were asleep.
He bounded through the forest, violet orbs looking up to the sky, sweeping back and forth between the trees and just watching the clouds roll by. Today it was sunny but because of the weather changing and winter around the corner there was a chill to the air, sending a shiver across the pups body.

The massive female was never far from home, more often then not wandering the boarder or sleeping close to Newt's den in case she was called upon or needed. Blind eyes would sweep the forest as ears attentively swiveled to and fro to catch any sounds that might be of interest. A twig snapped behind her and at first she believed it to be a rabbit, the heart beat smaller and quicker then that of a wolfs, but as her nose quivered she noticed that there was a particular wolf scent. That really only left one option then. It was a puppy. Head craned over her shoulder and she smiled devilishly. The pup was far enough away and heading perpendicular to her. Scarred features twisted into a menacing snarl, body slipping low to the ground and she began to creep, keeping low and down wind of the young male. When she got as close as she thought she could get without alerting him she coiled her haunches beneath herself and launched herself forward. Hopefully she would land behind him, but if he wasn't traveling too fast she might get lucky and land with the pup between her forepaws. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE SALAMANDER?!?!" Words were drawn from deep in her gullet, bellowing them so a bit of saliva was flung with her words. But even as soon as the words left her mouth she broke into a devious cackle. God... If only she could have seen the look on his face...

One moment the pup was jogging all happily through the forest, humming to himself, then the next somebody was snarling and jumping at him. The pup instantly dropped to the ground, paws covering his face a he curled up into a ball. Small whimpering could be heard from him as he realized that whoever this wolf was, it was part of his mother's pack and was not happy that he had gone off on his own.
His body trembled between the paws of the wolf, not daring to look out from under his own paws. For the moment he was completely scared, but slowly that changed into confusion as the wolf quickly began to laugh.
Slowly paws moved away from his face, violet orbs looking up widely to see that the wolf was mama's friend, Zara. The boy did not see her much but the few times he had seen her she frightened him with all those hurts on her body. Auntie Zara. His voice came out as a squeak, taking a deep breath as he pushed himself up onto all four but then jumped and latched his jaws around her leg. Though he thought it would hurt her it would only feel like slightly nomming. Aunt Zara your so mean! Why you scare me like that!

She had always thought that one day she would want kids, to be like her mom and be the mother of many. Zara had had 9 siblings that she knew of by the time Lust had finally called it quits. Maybe she had had kids when she was younger too, Zara didn't know, only knew that she had died at 9 and had her last litter at the age of 7. Zara and her siblings had been born to her at the age of 5, fairly old to be having children, but her mother had dreamed of having lots of kids so once she had found Maze he made sure to come back every time Lust was in heat to make sure she got that dream. He had loved her, she had loved him but in the end they had rarely been together. Zara didn't want that, didn't want some one night stand that would leave her with a bunch of rug rats running around. Not when she had Newt's little monsters running around that she could just as easily torment. Plus she doubted she could handle even one child on her own without her eye sight anymore.
She didn't see him curl up in a ball and tremble in fear, but she felt the thud in her paws as he hit the earth and the light vibration of his tiny body shaking. She was probably a terrible wolf for doing this but she was getting a good laugh and he would be fine. All harmless fun right? Finally he squeaked out her name and she ceased her chuckling, falling back onto her haunches to give him some breathing room. "Hey Sal" she said with a devilish grin. It was just then that he jumped up and lunged forward to attach tiny puppy teeth onto her foreleg. She barely felt the pressure even past the scarring, nerves to damaged to recognize much but she still fell backwards. "No Sal! That's my one weak spot!!" she cried dramatically as she shook her leg in an attempt to dislodge the little monster. Scare him? He thought that that was scaring him? Oh that was just the beginning...
