Cascade had spent the morning on border patrol, Chaos following intently upon her heels. She had started taking the nine months old on patrols a while back, partly as a way to pick her duties back up and partly to start teaching him in the same way Valentines had taught her older children - and partly to just plain wear him out so he would stay out of trouble. She was reassured to find that his troubles as a puppy had not served to stunt his growth, as the adolescent was well on his way to being as large as Seraphim and Vana were.

She parted ways with her son by the orchard, and he trotted off into the forest while she returned to the knolls to see about hunting some young, foolish spring hares. She passed by a few that were still too young to bother with and a pregnant doe, but managed to catch an older buck instead. It was still early in the spring - she would wait patiently for the leverets to grow up a bit.

Licking the blood that remained of the meal from her muzzle the dark female stretched out atop one of the knolls to drowse and watch the buffalo.

He was... curious. And curiosity, of course, is what landed the six month male here in the Knolls. He, unlike his brother, had free reign over any of the Imperium territories - so long as he did not stray beyond the borders yet. He knew, come with time, that he would eventually be allowed past the border, but that would be when he was deemed able to defend himself, at least partially. That would, hopefully, start soon. He wished to learn to fight; to hunt - his mother had been busy dealing with Dragon to take the time to teach him that, until recently. And even then, it was more so hunting than any sort of fighting

A large shadow crossed his vision, and the boy jumped back, head tipping to stare... at this weird, massively furry creature. What on earth? What was it? Glancing around, he spotted a small hill, and he'd aim to scramble up the side, so completely focused that he didn't notice the female on the opposite end of the mound. He had only glanced near the back, and standing upon it, he was craning his head out to get a closer look at the buffalo.

"Speech"

Movement caught her attention, a tall black and grey pup scrambling up the side of the knoll to stare at the buffalo. From the corner of her eye he could almost have been Chaos, and she'd turned her head sharply in curiosity about what he was doing. But her brain rejected that possibility even before she'd finished turning her head, because in this direct sunlight Chaos' coat, even more than hers, would be riotous with bright colored highlights. So who was this then? Must be one of Avalon's pups, grown up quite a bit since they're been claimed and carried here. "You don't want to chase those," she spoke up, loudly enough for him to hear. "They can crush bones with those hooves."

A voice reached his ears - and not one he was expecting. Jumping, he whipped his head around to stare with wide eyes at the woman. Who was this? Obviously an Imperium lady, but he had no clue who. And the buffalo... his head swung back to gaze at the buffalo once more, this time glancing at their feet. The feet were huge and massive... and covered in long fur. So the hooves were beneath them? What were hooves? His head swung back to Cascade, head tilting in curiosity. "Who're you? And what are hooves?" Hopefully she'd answer his questions - he didn't see why she wouldn't. Oh, wait, Perhaps he should introduce himself first. "Oh, I'm Lykos Ancora." Right, that politeness - kinda necessary.
