She was still pissed of at Voltage, there was no doubt about that. As much as she wanted to keep shunning him in her angry manner, there was something... up. She felt different, her belly hurt and she was hungrier than she normally was. Plus, she had started to feel ill in the mornings. Licking her chops, her nose wrinkled up in disgust. Serefina still felt like she was going to barf up the rabbit that she had scarfed down, her mouth was watering like it did before she lost her meal. Her red ears pinned to the back of her skull, and she eyed the ocean with narrowed ember gaze. She hated the water, almost as much as she hated winter, but she needed to see him. He was the only one that knew her as well as she knew herself. She had no idea what was going on with her, and she wanted some answers. Afraid to howl and draw attention to herself, she sniffed at the borders and just crossed anyways. She had rolled in a small stream to hide most of her scent, her black and red fur still dripping. As much as she hated being wet, she didn't want others to notice her. Knowing most of Voltage's hide outs, she slunk from rock to rock, finding their storm den that they shared. Taking a chance, she let out a soft bark and squeezed inside the protected den. Surly he would hear her, if he hadn't already felt her presence. Huffing, she made her way to the back of the den and sat with her back against the stone wall. She shivered, and kept her eyes on the small entrance.

Voltage was walking around, both aimlessly and with intent, his paws digging deep in black sand as he paced from one end of the beach to the other. He mindlessly scented at the land borders, searched along the cliffs edge and the tunnel, ensuring their beach was still secure, still safe. But he did all this subconciously, the need to just move overwhelming even his need for safety. If he didnt have borders to strengthen he would have made the same path. Feeling his body move through the paces, pushing him quickly and yet not so quickly through the familiare lands calmed him enough. He felt anxious, felt upset. He felt absolutely everything. Wisper wasnt well, Glacier seemed slightly off kilter, Seraphiel was driving him crazy. Gaia and Ember seemed sick...or distant as well. He couldn't place it, but he felt like the life they were precariously balancing on was slowly tilting, and soon he would lose his footing.

A soft whine caught in his throat as he moved along, feeling some sense of doom or...something. Something felt off. He sighed softly as he paused, mindlessly catching something that he consciously didn't notice as he continued his thoughts, continued to feel. But then something broke him from his mind, and he lifted his head. It was then that it all flooded him. The barest scent of his beloved sister, drenched and hidden but never fully hidden from him, flooded his senses. Serefina. Stormy eyes widened before he turned, quickly moving towards where the bark had come from, where the scent lead too. Their den. Without a thought he burst through the little entrance and then just...stopped. Eyes were wide as he stared at her in the darkness, his throat suddenly dry. The balance seemed to tilt more, and he was suddenly terrified that if he took another step forward, if this meeting didn't go well, that the balance would fall, and they'd plummet into the abyss. "Serefina.." He breathed softly.

The water dripped off her coat and onto the hard stone den, the sound of the droplets hitting the ground the only thing she heard. She sat in utter silence, until Voltage burst through the entrance. She blinked suddenly at him, watching him just stare at her. Serefina let out a soft sigh, but did not move from her position. Her brother whispered her name, making her ears flicker backwards. "I'm still mad at you," she said softly, muttering almost under her breath. Her fiery gaze narrowed somewhat, before she looked away from him. It was really hard to stay mad at him for too long, even with her skill of holding grudges. It took awhile for her to find her words, shuffling on her paws somewhat. "Something is wrong with me..." She said at last. Rising to all fours, she took a few steps towards Voltage, before the full amount of her fear came crashing down on her. Her lower lip quivered, and she sprinted to close the distance between them. Skidding on her paws she slowed herself somewhat, but her chest still slammed towards him with a bit more force than necessary. A whine left her lips and she tried to press herself into him, her mood swinging faster than her tail was wagging. Burying her face into his chest, a shuttering sigh left her.

He couldn't begin to still his racing heart, could barely swallow against the overwhelming emotion that surged through him. Which was...strange. Emotion, albeit sometimes overly strong, was never overwhelming for him. He could handle every tear, every bit of sadness, every ounce of anger. But this...this was panic, this was happiness, this was anxiety and sadness. Especially as she stayed where she was, dripping on the cold hard ground and staring at him. He could feel the heat of her eternal flame at his paws, and he wondered how painful the burns would be this time. Slowly he took a deep breath as he spoke, his head nodding slowly. He knew she was mad at him, he knew that she was rarely happy with life. They were the closest of all their siblings, tied only with his and Glacier's closeness, and yet they often seemed at odds. Two different heats facing one another. One fast, the other all consuming. And yet he couldn't take back or apologize for the things she was mad at him for. All he could do was watch her, drinking in her appearance here before him, waiting and watching for why she had come home. If she was still mad at him, then why was she here.

Concern crossed his face then, eyes wide as he stared at her. "What's wrong?" He asked, voice deep and concerned, demanding an answer. If she was sick, they could heal her. If she was hurt, they could fix her. If she was threatened, he would rip the throat from anyone that could threaten her. Possessiveness surged through him, and he took a step forward, but suddenly she was there, throwing her body against him and pushing into his chest. Without a thought he sat on his haunches and wrapped his arm around her, pulling her tightly against him. He rested his nose into her neck fur, searching passed the water-logged scent for what was wrong.

She just shook her head back and forth as he asked what was wrong, feeling the weight of his arm draped across her. Burying her face further into his fur, he breathed in the scent that was oh so familiar to her. She fell silent again, trying to gather her thoughts with the smell of Voltage all around her. Slowly she pulled her head back enough to attempt and place a rather firm nip on his shoulder. "Doesn't make me not mad at you," she whispered, a small smirk touching her lips. It was a cruel one, a sign of her inner rage. But she couldn't deny herself from him at the moment, she needed his warmth and comfort. She wasn't ready to forgive him for not seeking her out and telling him about his new puppies, even though he knew that she had been around. Plus, he knew all of her favorite hang out zones. But she pushed it back to the back of her mind, hearing him drawing in her damp scent. "But I don't know what's wrong, I've been sick in the mornings and eating like a pig. I've been feeling off for awhile, and I have no idea why." She had no idea what ailed her. It wasn't anywhere close to her season, she felt off sometimes before she went into heat. Maybe she ate something bad? Serefina had found a carcass of a deer left by another wolf, and ate most of that. It hadn't seemed to be bad, she smelled at it before eating it. But then again, she had been so hungry... Her shoulders shrugged, a sigh leaving her maw as she fully pulled away from Voltage. She nosed his arm off of her as she did so, as much as she longed for him to keep holding her. But no, she needed to see his face. Gazing at his features, she kept her fiery gaze on his own, searching for an answer in her older brother.

Voltage couldn't help the small smile as he held her close, and it felt like his arms were always made to embrace her, to hold her close, to help her up. He was made for her and all their siblings, and nothing would change that. He pressed a soft kiss under her ear, laughing as she nipped at his shoulder and whispered her angry words. In Serefina's language, they were like lovebites. At least, he hoped. He rolled his shoulder slightly away from her mouth before he sighed softly. "It's okay, you can be mad at me." He murmured in his soft voice, nuzzling into her fur gently before she began to pull away. He couldn't help the frown that crossed his face as she did, but he let his paw fall back to the stone floor and just watched her. Everything was at her pace, he owed her that much.

When she rolled off her symptoms he began to think, ears twisting forward and eyes slightly narrowed as he looked at her. He knew these symptoms well. If anyone in their family, besides Terrae of course, was an expert on this sort of thing it would be Voltage. (With the exception of Gaia and Anias of course, they experianced it all first hand.) Slowly he smiled, nodding his head gently. "Serefina, have you invited anyone to your bed recently?" He asked softly, perhaps not as tactfully as he should. He knew how Serefina felt about children, but he wondered if this might soften that a bit. Maybe then she would come home and be apart of his childrens' lives.

Serefina didn't miss his frown, but she ignored that for now. They could snuggle up when she didn't feel like wringing his neck so badly. But her emotions had been more up and down now than usual, which was saying something. When Voltage spoke again though, she rose an eyebrow at him. Why was he asking? It seemed off to her, her mind not quite connecting the dots like his had. It wasn't her season, there was no possibility of that. "Yes... but what does that have to do with me being sick?" she asked, confusion plain on her features. One would think that she would have made the connection by this point, but it just wasn't clicking. In her mind that was completely out of the question, it was impossible. So she kept staring at him with a dumbfound look on her face, a gentle simmer of anger starting to grow in her belly. She was really worried about being really sick, and he was asking her if she had been humped recently? Was he just concerned for her? Well this wasn't the time to be concerned with her sleeping around, she could be dying here! Shit, you would think that it was twenty questions or something. Her lips twitched slightly, but she was trying to keep herself composed.

If it weren't extremely inappropriate, Voltage would have laughed at the look on her face and her complete ignorance to the potential lives growing in her little belly. Instead, he just smiled, his eyes lighting in a way only family could. For Voltage, family was everything, and the fact that Serefina might be making more just made his day! But he knew his sister very well, and he knew that she might not like this little turn of events. But still, she ought to know. Besides, Voltage and Serefina never beat around the bush with each other. They said it like it was, and endured any backlash they'd get from it, usually by Serefina biting and Voltage by trying to dunk her in the ocean. He took a deep breath then, steeling himself for the wounds he would gain (because there really was no doubt) and looked at her fully. "Serefina, I think you're pregnant." He said simply, looking at her as clearly as possible so she would know he wasn't joking. He would never joke about this, not in this way. "We should probably get Terrae to confirm. But it sounds like it. You have all the symptoms Anais and Gaia have had in their pregnancies. Perhaps not too far along, I can't smell the difference yet but..." He trailed off then, giving her a toothy grin as his brows pinched, just waiting for that bite and hoping it wasn't anywhere entirely useful. He didn't want to be walking with a limp for a week or anything.

"Serefina, I think you're pregnant."

She just stared at him, her jaw falling slack. Her ember gaze bore into his eyes, but he wasn't kidding. What. The. Actual. Fuck. There was just no way! Her lips twitched again, her ears pressing flat against her skull. "No..." she whispered, and then that little simmer of anger blew into a full force flame. She growled, lunging forward and attempting to bite down on his left shoulder, right where it connected with his left leg. "You're lying!" she squealed through his fur, red hot tears flowing down her face. She growled more, gnashing her teeth together. "It's not even my season! No! It can't be!" She let go of Voltage then, turning away from him and sprinting out of the den. Squeezing out of the entrance, she bolted down the beach. Ignoring the fact that she was pretty much trespassing, she fled from her dearest brother with her eyes wide. She ran as fast as she could, her paws churning up the sand behind her. She ran until her lungs screamed at her to stop, until her legs were quivering. Shaking, she stopped, looking down at her paws as tears streamed down her face. No, it couldn't be. She didn't want to be a mother! She never wanted to have pups, that's why she was always so careful. It hadn't been her season, she thought that she was okay. There was no way... how could this be? She closed her eyes, her quivering limbs soon giving out. She was close enough to the shore that the water came close to touching her, but far enough away that she didn't get wet. She didn't want to get wet. She didn't want these pups. She did NOT want to be a mother. Letting out a half growl, half sob, she stuck her nose into the sands, head shaking back and forth. He had to be lying...
