The small things matter
Another day to travel after checking on the herd to be sure things were doing well. Now that it was spring, new fawns were being born and the numbers for the herd were growing. So it gave him a bit of extra time on his hands for bonding with members and traveling to check out new areas. Today he was heading back to old lands, one he never really had much of a chance to explore. He was also semi aware of some herbs there, but he wasn't real knowledgeable with herbs. He knew how to get to the Gulley, but he didn't rush. He wanted to take a look around as he went, looking for important things that he would need to remember for the future.
He neared the border and slowed down to a trot, pushing past the border and putting his nose to the ground, taking in the scents of the old territory. Where to begin and what really did he want to explore. There was so much ground to cover and even if he found some herbs he wasn't sure he would know it.

After the outbreak of the plague, and a very sick Jaelle arriving at their borders, things seemed to have calmed down considerably. Luckily the sickness hadn't spread and since then Armai had found herself with a lack of duties to do. She'd heard the summons for a hunting party by one of the other pack members, Jackson if she remembered correctly, but she hadn't shown up. It's not that she hadn't wanted to help, but she wasn't the best of hunters and running into trees and focusing on not tripping over things didn't seem like it was worth it. The most she could see herself doing is scaring away whatever big game they had planned on hunting. If it was rabbits she could pick up the scents of the many rabbit trails and places they liked to frequent, but they certainly weren't bug enough to feed more than one wolf. Then of course there was the fight training. She'd shown up for that because she realized she lacked any actual knowledge of fighting. She wanted to know how to at least defend herself. She was grateful that it was now spring again. Already plants were blooming, as they'd already gotten a head start with the warmer weather, and she was happy that she had something to occupy herself with. She was going to take every opportunity she could to gather plants and then dry them for storage. She didn't want to risk running out if they had another outbreak again later on in the year. She knew exactly where she wanted to go for her little adventure too. Fern Gulley had always been a rather fruitful spot for finding useful herbs so she decided to go there. Nox was happy to lead the way. She could tell her snow leopard friend was happy to get out of the territory for once. They hadn't left much over the winter so any chance to stretch her legs was a good one. She arrived at the border of the territory and she slowed her pace so she could get a good sniff at her surroundings. Despite being blind, she was rather proud of her sense of smell. It took her only a few moments before she headed off towards one of the stronger scents she'd picked up. Nox fell in tow behind her and it wasn't too long until she came to a patch of Lavender. She sniffed at them, her nose low to the ground, just to double check. It hadn't been the first time she'd accidentally mixed up the scents of the different herbs. Now that she lived with a pack she didn't want to make the same mistake. She would't forgive herself if she picked up something poisonous. Walk, "Talk" Think "Nox" |

There was many scents to take in and the young man had decided to fallow the strongest. Splitting from his current path the tracker fallowed his nose, tail held loosely in the air as he moved. It didn't take him long to spot the patch of purple lavender. Though to the male's surprise two other forms were near the edge of the lavender patch. Pausing he lifted his head, eyes looking over the two before he recognized them. They were two members from Myriad. He searched his mind for her name, which had been rather easy. She was the only member of the pack to travel with a companion so it had been easy for him to think of her name. Wagging his tail the male closed distance, with a relaxed body expression just in case the leopard did not recognize him.
"Good afternoon, Armai," he greeted as he was close enough to the two.
He knew of her rank and he knew her skills were of healing so he assumed that she was here to hunt for herbs. Thinking of this made his mood better because perhaps he could be taught the common herbs and even help out a fellow pack member.

Paw steps would catch her attention and ears would flick towards the sound. She had another ear trained on Nox to see if she was hostile, but the large cat remained quiet and clearly wasn't disturbed by whoever was approaching. Before long the scent of a Myriad pack member came to her and she recognized it as Riv's sibling, Jackson. She hadn't been expecting company out here, but she certainly wasn't opposed to the idea. She briefly remembered he wasn't a healer though, so why was he here? She supposed it didn't matter though. They were free to roam so she chalked it up to coincidence.
"Hello Jackson." She'd greet him with a soft smile before launching a question at him. "What brings you out here?
She couldn't help but ask him. If he proved not to be busy she wasn't past seeing if he wanted to help her find some herbs. His eyesight would prove to be useful and it meant she could spend some time getting to be around someone other than Nox. Not that she minded the cat's company, but she realized she hadn't gotten the chance to get to know anyone else in the pack other than Zephyra and Rivaxorous.
