First Round Due August 14th.
Mandatory to all those not on full absence.
Characters mentioned as being ill are optional, but if you can throw them in, do so.
Those who do not attend will be demoted if at a higher rank, or thrown out of the pack if they are Unit wolves.
If you have not done so, review the newest post in the Celestial Pack Page.

-::-

Regulus trotted briskly through the Plains, head and tail raised in casual authority, enjoying the warm, sweet scents of the late Spring air. It was midmorning, plenty of time for everyone to be awake and active, and it was time to hold his first official meeting since his mother had stepped down and left him in her place as Archangel. He had a few things to tell the pack, and not all of them were things he enjoyed the idea of saying.

Namely the lack of activity that had continued after both he and his mother had reprimanded the pack for it. Acapella had been nigh on absent lately, and despite her appearance at the borders to greet Luck, that wasn’t enough, family or no. Dagger as well had been rather quiet, but this was due to illness. Surreal had fallen ill again, and this time? He wasn’t sure if she’d pull through. His father had most assuredly stuck by her side, doing what he could, but…

Crucible had been next to absent as well. There were the briefest traces of his scent from time to time, but he had not approached Regulus to tell him what he wished to pursue as a rank, nor had Acapella done so either. Varda had been failing in her duties lately, and while he could understand her heartache being the cause, he needed to put his paw down. In all, the most activity he’d seen was from himself, Creed, Faite, Castiel, Solveiga, Kavdaya and Rasiel. Kieryn was sick as well, perhaps having caught what their mother had, and Laisren had been slowing down a bit, too since the three had snuck out one night.

A frown creased his brow points and a brief sigh fluttered past his lips before he forced himself to look upon the bright things. Solveiga had come into the pack, a much needed healer. She was intelligent, innovative, and sweet tempered, if shy, and she was easy to get along with. Abaven would remain friendly to Celestial, an ally. And there were a few new laws he wanted to announce, as well as a rewording of one or two. Summer would be arriving in no time, with it coming his siblings’ first, second, and fourth birthdays. He was almost four. That in itself wasn’t as alarming to him as it may have been to some. He didn’t feel old in the slightest.

He leapt smoothly onto the boulder, tossing his head back and uttering a commanding call to the pack, ushering them to make haste and attend. His siblings were included in the call, though Kieryn he didn’t expect to be seen. His mother would be too ill to attend, and again that worry niggled at his mind.

Slowly, his haunches lowered to the stone, and he watched the plains, waiting for the arrival of the pack.

The man had been worried, and that worry gnawed at him deeply regardless of what task he attended. Surreal was ill... and though Castiel knew she was a strong woman, well, he wasn't sure what might become of her. Her youngest litter had been slowing down for the most part as well, save for Rasiel who Cas himself was trying to keep busy. In part for himself too. He had yet to spar for his Legionary rank but knew that soon he would. Perhaps he could talk to Regulus about holding a fighting lesson for the wolves as well. He had noticed the lack of activity and though he was but one wolf it made him feel guilty that he was contributing to it. There was so much on his mind... both for himself and the pack. Alas it was not all something that could be addressed at the meeting.

He found himself the first to arrive as Cas dipped his head to Regulus. Smooth words left his lips a heartbeat later; "If we may, I'd like to speak to you after the meeting... as well as schedule a time for our spar." With that the pale man dipped his head. "...and forgive me, nephew... I know I've not been around as much as I could or should be. But we'll talk of all that later." Golden eyes lifted too meet blue hues as he looked around. Surely Rassie had been right behind him? Where had that little scamp gotten off to this time?

She had been preparing and carefully planning. Since her meeting with Varda, Acapella was certain she knew what path she needed to take in the pack. Since then she had been taking time to practice and to try and find out where her skills currently reside. She was vary good at small animal, but she needed to work on larger prey. She also needed to work on tracking and trailing down local herds so she could keep an eye on their movements. Although thinking about it she felt ashamed because she had yet to meet with Regulus. She was lagging, she was failing. The more the female realized this the more guilty she felt. Sure she was family, but that was no excuse and definitely was no reason for Regulus to go easy on her. This was added with the recent stress of Dagger coming down with a sickness. She was worried about her brother and found herself visiting him and checking up on him.

When the call sounded she felt the butterflies in her stomach along with a large knot in her throat. She prayed that her large mistake wasn't going to result in being kicked out. She dropped everything and hustled, being sure to get there quickly so not to cause more damage then she may have already done. Clearing her throat she breathed hating the fact she probably let down the whole pack in not pulling her weight. Though she was relieved when she came upon the meeting spot. She was the second there and when she was sure Castiel was finished speaking to Regulus she pulled herself together. She moved forward with her tail hung, tip wagging in a greeting. Ears gently laid back against her skull and she dipped her head in respect to him.

"I'm terribly sorry Regulus for not meeting with you yet, but if you have time I'd like to meet with you after the meeting today and after any other arrangements you may have today," she stated.

Laisrén Adravendi

He was beginning to look really odd. He was going through his rapid growth stage and that started with his height. He was sprouting like a weed and with his large paws it made the young pup even more clumsy. He didn't care though he always picked himself up and kept right on going. Mother was ill again and he found himself drawn close to her each day. He was growing vary protective of her and his same aged sisters and he felt like he needed to stay close to them. With mom and Kie being sick he found his adventures had stopped for the time being.

When the call rang out he was lingering outside of the den area, pacing and keeping a close eye on things around the area. Father was sure to be at mother's side and Kie he was sure would remain resting. The call drew his attention, for he knew what it had meant. The boy took off towards the call, at an odd uncoordinated gait. His oldest brother was calling the pack together and he knew he was now old enough that he was suppose to attend.

It hadn't taken him long to reach the gathering and when he tried to slow down, he stumbled and almost fell flat on his face. This time the young boy was able to catch himself, recovered and acted like nothing was wrong. Trotting forward his skinny tail wagging in happiness as she greeted the others before taking a seat beside his uncle Castiel.

Rasiel Adravendi

Mama wasn’t doing well, and though she was able to be distracted somewhat by her uncle Rassie knew that something was up. Cas said that Kavdaya was doing all she could for her mother, and that her father would be with her... That there was nothing to worry about. But Rassie felt doubt. Why wasn’t mama getting better than? She didn’t make the connection that her mother might die, not yet. The idea of losing anyone in Celesital was unfathomable in the girl’s mind. So she kept up in her little adventures, trying hard in her lessons and trying to learn all she could.

She had been distracted on the way to the meeting, breaking away from Castiel for a moment when she saw something scuttling in the grass. For a short while Rassie had followed it until she remembered her brother had called them together. With a sheepish grin on her face she kicked it into high gear, paws hitting the earth as she raced towards the meeting. She had been in such a hurry to make sure that she wasn’t late that she almost crashed into her brother. They were both growing, their bodies becoming a bit awkward in that transition stage. With a grin she flopped down beside Lais, looking up at him and her uncle happily before turning her mismatched blue eyes on Reg.

Late.

Okay so maybe he wasn't late, but having been used to being one of the first to the meetings called he was running late by his standards. The monotone colored male hurried swiftly along away from the edge of the borders as he abandoned his patrol. Regulus' howl had been commanding - summoning forth the entire pack at a time he hadn't quite expected. He'd known there would be a meeting soon, but he wasn't quite prepared for it to be now.

He arrived easily enough and to his own contentment he realized he wasn't as late as he'd feared. Castiel was there as well as two of Surreal's youngest. Acapella had shown up as well, though he wondered if Dagger would be able to come. Him, Surreal, and Kieryn were sick, something that made him frown with worry, and most likely would still be locked up. Wouldn't do them any good to let it spread. He pushed the thought from his mind though and instead padded over to the boulder Regulus sat on. He offered the crimson Alpha a warm smile before hopping up to his right to sit and wait for the others to arrive.

Faite had a lot on her mind as of late. Ever since Regulus had brought up his suggestion it'd been this nagging at the back of her mind. She couldn't stop thinking about it and more than anything she worried she wasn't worthy enough. She just wanted to make everyone proud and be an active and contributing member to the pack. Of course she was doing hr base duties, but in her free time she'd spent more than enough time going to find new recruits. Maybe one day she'd be successful.

Not only did the future of Celestial worry her, but their mother worried her as well. She'd noticed Kavdaya spending more and more time with her and how sick she got now. It seemed she'd never fully recovered from when she'd gotten sick when she was pregnant and that bothered her. Surreal was resilient, fierce, and a warrior. She should have been able to bounce right back from it, but for whatever reason she wasn't.

She tried not to worry about it at the moment, but she couldn't quite forget about it either. Thankfully Regulus called a pack meeting and the girl raced to it eagerly. She typically wasn't this late and she was used to being one of the first to arrive but others had already beaten her there. She grinned at her younger siblings and then padded over to Regulus and rose on her hind paws to press a nose to his cheek. "Hello brother." She;d smile at him before lowering herself and padding over to Castiel. She offered him the same warm smile before she sat next to her white uncle.

He'd felt god-awful lately. Whatever big had been going around he'd managed to catch it. He'd believed himself to be powerful, unbending, and tougher than the hardest stone, but some stupid illness had brought him crashing down. He'd been forced to remain in his den as he was treated for his symptoms. He wasn't sure what he'd gotten, but his head hurt all the time and he couldn't stop sneezing or coughing. The sniffles themselves were enough to drive him crazy.

He'd started to feel a bit better lately. He was no longer running a fever and he could halfway breathe through his nose now. He'd still sneeze from time to time but the worst of the coughing fits were over with. It'd seem like he was finally starting to get over his illness. Just in time too. He knew he probably should have stayed back and rested some more, but he was tired of being cooped up in his den. He'd already missed is training and had missed out on many opportunities to earn his rank. He had a lot of catching up to do to prove his worth.

So he drug himself tiredly from his den. He took him a little bit to get there, but arrive he did. His sister was there along with a few others. He'd smile weakly at his older siblings before he chose a spot off by himself. He'd been told he wasn't as contagious and likely no one else would get it from him, but he didn't want to take any chances either. He'd sit by himself for the duration of the meeting.

Luck felt a slight twinge of doubt as Regulus' voice called for the pack. She had only ever been in a pack filled with family and while she had not yet met many of the members yet she very much doubted there were very many Destructions. A part of her remembered Regulus mentioning Varda and the tiny Destruction hoped she might find her sister.

There would be no such luck, at least not yet. As the small girl arrived at the source of her friend's call, brilliant blues scanned the gathered wolves frantically for the form of her sister before seeking out the comfort of the familiar face of Regulus. Luck recognized the younger woman and elderly man from her brief meeting at the border but didn't recognize anyone else. Nervously twitching her ears she nodded a brief greeting towards the red boy as she approached the gathered wolves. Then once more casting a nervous glance around she hunkered herself down away from the group, on the opposite side as another wolf who had sequestered himself away from the main bulk.

The girl fought against the urge to turn to watch for the hopeful appearance of her sister and instead tried to keep herself busy by thinking about literally anything else while she waited.

Kavdaya Of The Nomads

Surreal wasn’t doing well at all. When a wolf that was wired to fight and be active was as quiet as the Adravendi woman had become, it was never good. She wasn’t even grumbling about the being confined. Kavdaya was late, but she had done what she could before leaving to follow the call from Regulus. She’d checked in on Kieryn, who was far better than her mother’d been doing, but still too ill in her opinion to go. “I’ll fill you in when I get back.” She assured those remaining in the den, and hurried from the cave, down the ravine, and into the wooded land, breaking into a long legged lope as soon as she broke into the plains.

She arrived, dreadfully late, sending the Crimson Archangel a brief shake of her head, signaling that there was little to no improvement in his mother’s health before taking a seat beside Creed and leaning against the larger male. “No improvement…” she offered the Ancora in a murmur, before her eyes swept the gathered wolves, frowning as she saw missing faces. Varda, Crucible, even Solveiga, Baine and Zuriel, were absent. There was a tiny window of time left for them to arrive, but the meeting would begin soon, judging by the scanning sweep of the fathomless sapphires as Regulus looked over the crowd.

There was, however, a new face in the crowd; a small female of chocolate and cream, wearing a mask of that cream coloring marked through with distinctive lines under her bright sky blue eyes. She could almost be mistaken for a relation to Solveiga, but no, the features and shape brought a strong feeling of Varda. Sibling? Cousin? She’d have to get a sniff to see soon, she supposed, though Regulus would likely introduce the stranger in his announcements to the pack. She offered the nervous little female a gentle smile, nonetheless, before her eyes lifted to watch Regulus.

Spring had been a bit difficult this year. Though she would never admit it, that may have been partly because of her growing interest in a certain, brilliantly red male. This, after all, was only her second time dealing with the discomforts and inconveniences her season presented her with. She didn't really know how to suppress or hide those feelings. So, for the most part, she had been scarce. She focused on her training as the newest healer in the pack, and continued to familiarize herself with the territory. She could confidently say that she knew her way around now. For the most part.

Today the poor girl had wandered about a quarter mile past the eastern boundary, in search of a particular herb. Of course, she hadn't found that herb. Instead, she had found a thick collection of brambles. Worse, she had found herself inside them. She winced as she made slow and careful movements, just trying to avoid any injury as she escaped the thicket. And that was when the call rang out.

"Oh no," she breathed, licking her lips nervously as she looked down and tried hard to concentrate on her each and every movement. She whimpered softly as she made a misstep and landed her right paw directly on a thorn. The call sounded urgent. She needed to be there. She didn't want to get in trouble, especially not with Regulus. She really, really didn't want to see him upset with her. She tried to move faster, which really only resulted in her getting covered in little leaves and thorns. She also managed to prick herself about eight more times. But she was out, finally, and ran as quickly as her feet could manage. Not to mention one of those thorns had probably ended up in one of her paw pads. Ignore it, ignore it, she told herself as she hurried to the meeting.

When she arrived, every one else was already there and she lowered her head to try and call as little attention to herself as possible. Her ears swiveled back in embarrassment when she saw Regulus looking at her, and he sighed. Hopefully in relief and not in disappointment. The sand colored girl took her place among the rest of the pack and settled on her haunches, biting back another whimper as she discovered another thorn hiding in her rump. Today was going just great so far.

The next round ends on August 31st, and is mandatory, even if the character is merely leaving. Again, I urge any who have not read the last post in Celestial's pack page to please, go read it.

-::-

The first to arrive was his Uncle Castiel, and that brought a slight smile to the Crimson Archangel’s lips. His uncle had been a bit… well, he wouldn’t say outright absent, but Castiel had been less than bounding with activity. To see him arriving promptly helped to bolster Regulus’ mood a bit, especially when Cas approached to speak to him. He listened, head tipped slightly below his shoulders to bring himself a bit more to his Uncle’s level from his seat up on the boulder.

“Of course. I hope this meeting bolsters the activity. I don’t like it, but I mayhave to bring demotions as well as good news, and we already have particularly bad news… But yes. For the spar, whenever you’re ready, let me know when.” He nodded, straightening as another arrived. His browpoints lifted as he saw it was Acapella.

This prompt arrival, after nearly half a season of mediocre attendance and presence, was surprising, but he listened as she too approached, though his eyes only softened slightly as he answered, in a voice of soft thunder in a summer evening, “You have done far worse than neglect to come to me, after both mother and I stated that it was us the pack needed to come to in order to announce their intentions, Acapella. Not only that, but you have spent nearly half a season doing nothing. I have hardly smelled you in that time. You are verging on being demoted to the Punished, and I do not enjoy having to be the bearer of that news.

“Family you may be, but I cannot lower my standards, and in fact, they are even higher for those in the family. You need to show that you intend to pull your weight in this pack, because the pack is an extended family. An apology is only a word until you show that you can improve.”

He never raised his voice, and in fact kept it at a level at which only she could hear him fully as he lowered his head, not making it a public chastisement, though as yet Castiel was the only other wolf present. He may not have been pleased with her, but he wasn’t going to shame her before the others, for all to hear. He added, as a final note, “You may meet with me afterward, when I’ve finished with Uncle Castiel. But I would like for you to voice your intention to the entire pack as well as to me. Perhaps it will help them be more forward about what they intend to do in the pack. I’m interested to hear what it is.

He straightened, the action a gesture of dismissal, a silent request that she take a seat, just as his littlest brother arrived. Lais was all gangly legs, half way to being a yearling, and clearly, the big paws were a detriment to his stability, the young male tripping, and Regulus hid a wince, eyes innocently shifting away as Lais took a full introduction to the ground with his face, allowing the boy the short lived illusion of having not been seen, ruined by Rasiel as the girl joined the gathering, clearly having seen the spill.

Regulus watched as, in sisterly fashion, she grinned and flopped beside their brother, winking as she turned her eyes to him and lifting a great red paw in a little wave. A small amount of time passed, and then Creed arrived, Faite shortly following. Creed took his place beside Regulus, for possibly the second to last time, and Regulus grinned sidelong at him, nudging his shoulder gently into the older male before he bent to receive Faite’s nosing, suddenly twisting his head to swipe a particularly drooly lick over her face with a grin. “Hello, Faite.”

He could imagine she’d been thinking a lot since they’d spoken, what with his offer for her to take Creed’s place when the old man stepped down to enjoy retired life. It was a big step up from being just a Legionary. He was content with his choice. It felt right, and he felt sure about it. Only her refusal would shift his decision.

Dagger was next to arrive – a surprise, though a welcome one – and Regulus grinned at the male. Dagger was two, now. While his training as an Apprentice had been dismal, simply due to lack of the mentors assigned keeping up their end of the deal, he was still of an age to choose his path. Regulus had little doubt that he’d choose a warrior path. The man was all fighter in build. As Dagger took a seat off to himself, clearly unsure if he wasn’t contagious, despite Kavdaya’s assurances, Regulus smiled at him, nodding in thanks for his attendance.

The smile widened as Luck arrived, and he gave the tiny Destruction a welcoming grin as she nervously took a seat. Speaking of Destructions, where was Varda? And where was Solveiga? A twinge of worry niggled at his mind as he looked for the tiny cream and beige healer. No, she hadn’t slipped in under his nose… Where was Baine? And Zuriel? A snowy figure arrived, Kavdaya making her way to the meeting, and it didn’t look like the news was good. His heart dropped in his chest as she gave him a minute shake of her head before taking a seat beside Creed. As if that wasn’t enough, her murmur to Creed confirmed the gesture. No improvement in Surreal’s health.

He waited for what felt like an eternity, and as the tenth minute passed, and no others arrived, he sighed. Varda, Crucible Baine, and Zuriel, and Solveiga. All absent… but then, he spotted Solveiga’s miniature frame making her way to the meeting. A sigh of relief brushed from his jaws as at least one knot of worry eased. Although, oh dear. She was moving like her feet hurt, and he thought she was going to whimper when she sat down. Nevertheless, he gave her a grin of thanks before his eyes scanned the distance for any other last second comers… But none came.

Surely the others would make it in time to catch his announcements… right? There’d be penalties, though nothing severe for those who had been active prior, if they were that late, but it would be better than not arriving at all. Nevertheless, he raised his chin and addressed the pack, letting his deep voice carry.

“Thank you for attending, those of you who have made it. Your attendance is muchly appreciated. That being said, first, I must express my deepest displeasure at the continued lack of activity in the pack. You all should know better.” Here, a sharp look was thrown to each individual, even those who had been more active than most, because even then, that activity had been sparse enough to have the lands feeling quiet.

He went on, deep baritone thundering, though he barely raised his voice above a speechmaker’s tone, “Spars have not been called, hunts have not been made, and the only good I can say for our activity troubles, is that Kavdaya’s open healing lesson was, at least, moderately well attended; thank you to those who came. There are those who have not been present at all. I regret to say that those are Varda Destruction, and Crucible Ancora,” here he cast an apologetic glance to Creed before he continued.

“And that demotions will be as follows. Crucible will be demoted to the rank of Punished. Varda will be demoted from the role of Master Hunter, and will be a Hunter until she can re-earn the rank she was given last meeting. Let this be a warning. If Crucible and Varda do not work hard to redeem themselves, Crucible will be banished, and Varda will be demoted to Punished. We cannot have wolves who will not work to keep the pack healthy, active, and fed. Understand that I do not make these changes in rank lightly, nor do I take pleasure in them.

“That said, Baine will also be demoted if she misses another meeting, or doesn’t step up to involve herself more… or both. The inactivity in this pack has gone on far too long. And my leniency is at an end.” His fathomless gaze bore into each and every wolf present, save for Luck, who had only just become a part of the pack. He just wished she didn’t have to have this be her first meeting.

He gazed over the wolves, then continued his speech. “I would like to say that this is the end of the bad news I have to announce, but, I’m afraid there is more. We have illness in the pack. My mother, Surreal, is the worst, and… It may be that she won’t improve. One of our Progeny, Kieryn, is also ill; however, she is not as seriously ill as our mother, and should improve in time. Dagger has also been ill, but, as you see, he is up and about, and ready to contribute soon, I hope.” A fleeting smile was thrown to the young male as he went on.

“And now, while it isn’t dire news, it is still sad, but one of our first healers, my littermate Zuriel, is leaving Celestial to explore the world and expand her knowledge. Let us all wish her well on her endeavor, though she isn’t present. And should you see her on her travels, she is to be treated as family and a friend.” He cast a quick, searching look, hoping to see the rest of his adult sisters, but still, neither arrived.

Finally, finally he straightened his posture and cast a warm grin to Solveiga and Luck as he announced, “As one leaves us, two more have joined Celestial. I would like to introduce you to Solveiga Derus, who joined late last Winter, and is a healer. She’s been living with us in the communal den, for those who do not know, or have not met her yet. I would also like to introduce you to Luck Destruction. She joined just a few hours ago, and will also be tested with the hope of being a healer. Welcome, officially, both of you.” He gestured gently to each in turn as he introduced them, then turned to the next announcement.

“This season also brings the celebration of Dagger’s second year, and Acapella’s third. As such, Dagger, you are expected to choose a path to follow within the pack; if you already know what you wish to pursue, you are welcome to announce it here. Whichever you choose, training will begin – and it had better be adhered to and dedicatedly trained for- for that path, as well as the usual lessons for the other skills.” He winked at Dagger, then turned his attention to his youngest present siblings.

“As you know, last meeting, mother was pregnant with a litter. These two scamps are part of the three survivors. It is time – past time – to assign them mentors for early basic training in the three main skills they will require. Castiel, you will handle Kieryn’s training in fighting, even though you haven’t officially become a Legionary. I will be handling Rasiel’s fight training personally. Kavdaya will handle training in healing for all three until the rest of the healers have progressed in knowledge – or I learn enough about how much knowledge they have – enough to teach as well. Faite, I would like you to handle Laisren’s training in fighting.” He paused, gazing around at the gathered wolves.

This was the hard part. There were no hunters. And Varda was noticeably not here. Finally, he lifted his chin slightly, finishing with “Due to our lack of trained hunters, I suggest the entire pack pitches in to teach the children what they know, and I expect it of you all to do so. They are our future, and they need to know all they can to survive. Laisren, Rasiel, I expect it of you to keep up with every lesson, and practice; it’ll only get tougher when you’re Apprentices. Make mother proud. I’ll pass it on to Kieryn.” Especially since I don’t know if Mother will make it to see you three turn one…

He didn’t voice that painful thought aloud, and forced it aside as he addressed the pack again. “I have yet more good news to share. Abaven is to be an ally. I traveled to the east to meet with Bass Destruction, and he agreed that Celestial and Abaven will continue to be allies. This means any Abaven wolf you meet is to be treated with the same respect you would give one of your own packmates.

“As well, I have a bit of important news to share regarding our leadership. I have chosen a new Right Wing to take Creed’s place when he retires. Faite, come up, if you please.” He grinned at his sister, nodding to the bare spot on his other side, continuing whether she too the place or not.

“I have chosen her, because she is the same age, dedicated to Celestial, and trustworthy. She has tried her best to put her best paw forward for the benefit of the pack, and I could not imagine a better wolf for the job. Come Summer, She will take Creed’s place as our new Right Wing.” He winked at Faite, then shifted his attention back to the pack.

“I have added two new laws, and reworded a few of the old ones. The new laws are as follows: “Defend Yourself; Learn to Tend Your Own Hurts.” Healers are expected to learn at least the basics of fighting, and train regularly. Remember, it may not just be you that you're defending, but an injured patient, or a helpless pup. On the other side of the stone, all members of the pack are expected to learn basic healing, in the event of an emergency when beyond pack borders and beyond reach of help.

“The next, is: Legionaries - and other members - who go to the Battlefield to spar are expected to bring a fellow pack member along to Witness the fight. This is to keep a record of fights won and lost, and if you are seeking to rise in the ranks of the fighters, this is important.’ Not only that, but it is a good idea to have someone along to back you up in case of someone unfriendly trying to pick more than a friendly spar.”

He gave the pack a long, hard look, before he grinned. “I have also added – at last – a few new customs. First, and coming up soon, hopefully, is the Summer Solstice Festival; Each year, at the Summer Solstice, Celestial will hold a Festival, open to Allies and Loners alike, to share in the celebration of life and the longest day of the year, with a hunt, spars, games, healer’s meetings, and gatherings for young pups to get to know one another and make friends.

“Second, Mating Ceremonies; When love blossoms, those wishing to become mates have the option to be married, or ‘Bonded’ by the Archangel at a wedding. All that are invited may bring gifts, whether it be a pretty rock, or a juicy duck, but are expected to attend the happy occasion to give their congratulations to the happy couple; and as a gift from the Archangel, the newly mated pair may leave for a week on a honeymoon for quality time with just the two of them before returning to the daily life in Celestial.

His voice grew less jovial as he reached the third, because he worried, that they may be taking part in this custom sooner than he could ever have expected. “And finally, burials; Deaths in the pack will be given a proper send-off, whether it be a burial, or some other means of seeing the deceased into the afterlife, but the pack is expected to attend the funeral to pay their respects to the fallen wolf.” He waited a moment for everyone to absorb these bits of news, before moving on, his voice rolling thunder over their ears as he leaned forward, fathomless sapphire gaze intent.

“Now. All of you. I expect to hear calls for sparring, and I expect to hear from your Witnesses. If I do not hear either within the next week, I am going to be giving out demotions, and if the inactivity continues, there will be wolves being banished. My leniency is over. Those who wish to hold fighting lessons for the pack, please step it up and do so. I will be calling a pack hunt myself soon. I expect you all to involve yourself in some way, or have your own hunts. The same goes for healing lessons. If Kavdaya calls one, I expect attendance. Step Up, or Get Out. Unit members, you will make yourselves useful wherever possible; or work toward a promotion to a higher rank. Progeny, you are of an age where play will soon be left behind for tougher training; attend to your studies and lessons with aplomb.”

He leveled them all with a long, hard stare before he cast his thoughts about, trying to recall if there were any more tidbits of news he could share, then straightened. “Now, would any of you like to make announcements, if so, please do so.” He sat back, tail flicking to curl about his hips as he looked around, ears perked to catch any voices that might call out.

His teal gaze would watch as the last of the stragglers moved in. Faite arrived soon after him and he smiled at the girl greeted Regulus. He laughed as Regulus returned her affections with a very sloppy (and drool covered) tongue swipe to her face. Dagger came next and he eyed the large male with a look of concern as he secluded himself away from everyone. He seemed to be looking a lot better, a lot better actually, and Kavdaya had assured the young male that he was no longer contagious. He shrugged it off though. He could understand the caution nonetheless and was just pleased that he'd managed to come at all.

Luck arrived and he flashed a smile at their newest member. He was hoping that her shyness would disappear and that she'd warm up considerably with some time. Kavdaya arrived next to which he greeted with a swift wave of his tail and a warm smile. She hopped up next to him and he leaned into her as well enjoying her presence. She spoke softly to him of Surreal's state and his smile soon fell to a frown. Surreal hadn't ever quite recovered from her illness when she was pregnant. It didn't seem like she'd be getting over it at all... and that bothered him. His eyes would shift to the last stragglers, Solveiga, and then after that no more arrived. He frowned at the absence of Baine, Zuriel, and a couple others. Crucible's absence was the most noticeable to him and that worried him. What was his sibling up to?

The meeting started and he wasn't surprised to hear the same thing Regulus had been trying to instill within the pack. Spars, training, and activity seemed to be the most troublesome thing. Surreal had tried telling them the same thing, but it seemed to be a constant problem lately. More-so than usual. Varda not arriving as well as Crucible had not been lost on the crimson archangel and he didn't miss the apologetic look Regulus flashed him before he continued speaking.

Crucible was demoted as well as Varda and he shifted uneasily where he sat next to Kav. He didn't like the idea of the demotion, or the fact he'd be banished, but he understood the need for it. Crucible had been nigh on absent since he'd arrived and if he couldn't participate the way he needed to then he certainly had no reason to stay within Celestial. He loved his sibling, but if he wasn't happy here he certainly wanted to know. He wouldn't be upset if Crucible wanted to leave.

Regulus announced a few more things: Surreal's and Kieryn's illness as well as Dagger's recovery. Zuriel would be leaving on her journey soon and that helped brighten his mood a little. He sincerely hoped that her travels went well. He introduced the two newer pack mates, to both he flashed a small smile, and then the birthday's of Acapella and Dagger were brought up. He was curious to know what paths both would take, but he was certain he knew what Dagger would choose.

Next he assigned mentors for the little ones and he glanced at the two children that were here. They were growing up so fast... it was astonishing to see how big they were. With him stepping down he would be more than happy to hold a training session. He'd certainly pick up the slack with hunting since Varda seemed to be absent of late.

Abaven was mentioned next. They were still to be allies with the pack which was heartening. The fact that the pack still had friends was good. Next the new Right Wing was chosen and he grinned at Faite. She was a good choice, in his mind at least. She was almost always prompt to meetings, he'd smelled the strange scents on her pelt when she came home which meant she'd tried recruiting, and she had a good head on her shoulders. The fact that she was Regulus' sibling helped too. They made a good leading pair until Regulus found a good mate to help with leading if they desired it.

The rest Creed listened to as Regulus explained them and he was excited to hear about the new ceremonies. The laws were duly noted and it wasn't until Regulus was done speaking that he decided to say something. He'd come to a decision, multiple reasons coming into play, so he was confident in it to say the least.

"Ah'd actually like ta step down now." He announced. "It will give Faite time ta adjus' ta her new position and Ah'll be able ta focus on other things." With this he'd nudge Kavdaya. He'd been spending more time with her and the chance to be able to do so more pleased him. That and it meant he could focus more on normal pack duties, like training the pups and helping Surreal and Falk out where he could.

As she had greeted Regulus he gave her a sloppy kiss and her nose wrinkled with a happy disgust. "Ewww." She'd exclaimed with a giggle. She hadn't been expecting such a gross greeting, so as she had sat next to Castiel she tried her best to wipe the wetness from her fur while she waited for the meeting to begin.

Others filtered in and she didn't see Varda anywhere. Her absence surely wouldn't go unnoticed and as she looked around she didn't see Creed's brother either. Her happiness soon faded at these thoughts and frowned softly. She knew her mother wouldn't make it nor little Kieryn which made her sad. Her mother was sick again and this time it didn't seem to be improving. She was just glad her little sister didn't seem to be as bad off.

The meeting soon started and Faite listened with intent. Most of it was the same thing that had been stated at the last two meetings. She knew that it may have come off as berating to some others, but there was reason behind it. Regulus only wanted them to help the pack and know how to protect themselves when the time came. She was unhappy that he wasn't pleased with the lack of activity and she made a mental note to try and figure out a way to curb that.

Like she'd suspected the absences didn't go unnoticed and to her surprised both Varda and Crucible got demotions. Her mood really soured now. She could see how unhappy Creed was about the whole matter, but whatever thoughts he had he didn't say them out loud. It seemed Regulus was cracking down and she was surprised to hear their younger sister, Baine added into the mix. She looked around and realized she hadn't arrived yet. Where was she? She'd known Zuriel was leaving, but what was Baine's excuse?

Mentors were given next and she glanced towards the two pups here with a smile. To her surprise she heard her name and she glanced up at Regulus as he named her his Right Wing. She'd already known it was coming but the idea still shocked her. It sounded weird and foreign, but she was pleased when he asked her to come up. She rose from her seat and then hopped up on the perch and sat next to Regulus on the opposite side of Creed and Kavdaya. She grinned broadly at him before turning her attention back to the rest of the meeting.

She listened to the rest as he went through a few new laws and ceremonies. Lastly he announced that he leniency was at an end and she felt a sense of pride swell within her. He was doing his best and even if they didn't like what he had to say, she was pleased with his accomplishments so far. He was growing to be a fine alpha. Their mother would be proud to see him now.

The meeting seemed to be just about at an end when Creed piped up. She glanced over at the male wondering what input he had and to her surprised he said he was stepping down now. What? She could understand why he wanted to do it, but it didn't mean she'd expected it. That meant she was the Right Wing now, right? Wow she wasn't prepared. She rose an eyebrow at Creed before looking to Regulus.

"Looks like I get to start early." She'd grin softly at him.

Luck did her best to avoid all eye contact as she waited, there was a little ruckus as a last straggler rushed in and despite herself she found her gaze being pulled to the cream coloured woman. She moved with some difficulty and Luck recognized the signs of physical pain. A frown creased the tiny Destruction's brow but she forced herself to look away as Regulus started speaking.

There was a sense of unease that rose up in Luck as she listened, feeling the heat of the alpha's gaze as it swept over the group in an accusatory manor and she had to remind herself that she had only just joined a few hours early and the comment likely wasn't really meant for her. Still guilt over her personal quest developed and sank like a pit in her stomach, she would have to make an effort to be engaged.

The girl's ear twitched some as she heard mention of her sister and a mixture of emotions swirled around her. There was relief, knowledge that her sister was indeed within the pack meant she might be able to reconnect at least some with her scattered family but the news of her sister's demotion also meant that Varda was..? Well that she wasn't sure, her sister had not shown up to the meeting... did that mean she was sick? Was she gone just like everyone else? These thoughts played across her face in a sort of farcical drama, should anyone at that point have turned to look at her.

Discussion shifted and names she had no faces for were thrown around in words that held little real meaning though she did her best to remain attentive and at the very least it gave her some insight into the current situation of the pack she was now a member of. Her name was mentioned once more and suddenly Luck found her paws to be very interesting. The girl imagined that she could feel the white hot stares of others on her as she intently avoided looking at anything but the ground.

Again the discussion shifted and Luck finally allowed herself to pull her gaze back up to her friend. More names and ranks and things she didn't quite yet grasp flitted about her mind as she frantically tried to categorize and hold some of this new information in her memory so she wouldn't be quite so lost next time.

There was a flit of fear as it was mentioned healers would be expected to learn fighting, Luck had never been keen on violence, when her own family's borders had been invaded by those looking to steal from the pack she had hid, shaking in her own den and the prospect of having to learn to defend herself while a logical idea was not one she relished.

Still the meeting would not be held up by her fear and she allowed it to be pushed to the back of her mind for the time being. As things wrapped up Luck looked around for the first time, listening as the elderly wolf she recognized from the border spoke up and then a female her age, whom she connected as the female Regulus had spoke of, Faite, also spoke.

Luck shifted nervously, she had nothing she really wanted to say but she also didn't want to be the first to leave... anxiety keeping her rooted to the spot and yet also urging her to run.

Castiel gave a small nod to his nephew ass he spoke. Acapella was next to arrive and though he could not hear his nephew's words he suspected it was something similar, or even worse, to what he'd gotten. He had seen Acapella earlier in the season but then... He shook his head. He would let his nephew do what he had to do to keep the pack running smoothly. Though Cas took note of the comment that standards in the pack were higher for those who were family. He gave a soft sigh, waiting for the rest of the meeting to begin.

Castiel did however speak up after Regulus had finished, his words calm, but firm. ‘To be fair nephew I had reached out for Dagger once for training...’ While Castiel knew he wasn’t that active, he was still a bit more active than some had been and wanted to make sure it was known that he was at least putting forth some effort. But he’d save that for when he was alone with Regulus.

He’d glance at Faite, who had seated herself next to him, then the children who had attended. There had been demotions... Threats of demotions... Things that he knew Reg didn’t enjoy but had to be done. Talk of Surreal too, which made his heart ache. His golden gaze glanced towards the two new wolfess’ who had joined Celestial too, giving a warm nod to each in turn. In regards to training Kieryn the man was ready, and he dipped his head to his nephew in response and acknowledgement.

There was news of a continued alliance as well as a change of leadership, much to Castiel’s surprise. He blinked, glancing towards Creed, but figured the other man deserved a good rest from responsibilities.

The new laws were something Cas had little problem with. The witness thing for fights was certainly interesting. But he saw the logic in it too. The ceremonies and such sounded interesting, and the man hoped that he’d get to see them. But at the mentions of burial’s Castiel tensed. Could Surreal’s condition really be that bad that he’d have to consider such a thing? Cas couldn’t help it, a whine escaped his throat and he lowered his gaze. He didn’t want to consider it... But... Perhaps it would be better to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

As Regulus finished up Castiel did gather the nerve to say something however. The pale man lifted his head, his golden gaze falling on his nephew first than sweeping the pack. “I’d be more than happy to hold a fight training. Whether for the little ones, or for all members of the pack.” He rose, tail swishing back and forth. “Regulus is right. For those of us not new to Celestial we’ve, as a whole, have not been as active as we should. Myself included. That changes today, Celestians. If you are with me I hope to see you at that fight training AND at Regulus’ hunt.” Cas was no leader, but he hoped his words might stir something in the hearts and minds of those who had come to the meeting.

Rasiel listened, but she felt her heart sink when he spoke of her mom and Kier. She glanced at Castiel, hearing his whine, wondering what he knew that she didn’t. Her mommy was going to be okay, right? She tried to focus on the other stuff her big brother was saying. At least when he spoke of training that could distract the little girl for a bit. She’d be training under Reg for fighting personally and that thought had her swelling up with pride. She’d learn from the bestest! Then, when her uncle spoke up again she found herself wiggling in place. She really looked up to all members of her family, but particularly her brother and Uncle Cas. She barked out, not sure if she was really helping or not. “I will~” Though after this the first place she was going was to snuggle with Surreal... Providing the healers let her.

Yes indeed she had made a rather huge mistake and though the large red male was not pleased with her he didn't humiliate her. She nodded to his words and with his dismissal she backed off and took a seat. She felt horrible, but did her best to push it aside and mentally go over what she needed to do to prove herself again. She was glad that he wasn't demoting her, but she felt horrible that she had not pulled her weight. Taking a deep breath she focused herself on the meeting at hand while the alpha males words repeated within her mind. She needed to get on the ball and get herself to work and all would need to be started after this meeting ends. She waited as others approached and she sat straight and was tentatively taking in the faces as they arrived. When Regulus began the meeting she turned all her focus to him and took in everything he had to say.

Demotions and attention had been drawn to the lack of activity. In fact the alpha was stressing it. Being she had no room to agree or disagree due to her mistake in being a horrible member so remained still and just listened to his words, took them in, and mentally repeated them to herself to be sure she remembered. When he spoke of her brother her gaze fallowed his to see her brother off to the side by himself. She smiled at him her tail wagging in a quiet greeting to her brother. Then turned her attention back as Regulus continued. She looked to the two new members, one she had met a bit ago, the other she had just met not long ago. Wagging her tail as she looked to both before turning her attention back to Regulus.

Regulus then brought up about Dagger turning two and that she would be turning three. Reminding her again that she needed to get her butt in gear with training. Going through more things before announcing a new ally and some new rules. Each and every sentence the female did her best to repeat mentally to try and remember them. Closing words were stated before Regulus opened the floor to anyone who wished to speak up. She shifted remembering his words that she needs to let the pack know of her intentions along with him. Should she say something now? Before she could Creed spoke up announcing that he would be stepping down now.

Shortly after Castial spoke up and she listened, making a mental note of the fight training so she could be sure to attend that as well. Even though it wasn't what she wished to specialize in, she needed to find ways to become more active within the pack. She knew she would definitely be at the hunt, because that was what she was pursuing, but it wouldn't hurt to go to other training events. Once it grew quiet again she took in a breath and stood.

"I would like to make known that I will be pursuing to become a hunter of the pack and hopefully the master hunter someday," she announced.

Since the meeting was over she moved forward towards Regulus and dipped her head to him. "I will be deep in the plains when you are finished with Castial," she said before moving away to get started on what she needed to do to better herself for the pack.

It didn't take long before the pounding of little feet neared. He turned his head to see his sister running towards them and again his scrawny long tail wagged. She had almost run right into him, but was able to catch herself in time. Flopping beside him she began to settle and turned her attention to their older brother. He did the same looking to his large brother with adoration in his eyes. After Creed had showed up his older sister Faite appeared. After greeting Regulus she came over and sat on the other side of Castial, which made the boy's tail wag once more. Others wandered in, one face completely new, while others he knew of. He was excited to hear what the meting was about and when things started his full attention was on his ruby colored brother. His brother started with more serious matters, speaking of the lack of activity in the pack. Most things he had mentioned the young boy wasn't quiet sure what he had meant, but he listened taking in his words and repeating them mentally to himself. His ears flattened as he then spoke of mother and of Kieryn being ill still. He knew this wasn't good, but he had to be positive.

The meeting continued, the boy finding it difficult to set in place for this long. His interest perked as Regulus announced the mentors for his training and he grew excited to work with his older sister. He wanted to become big and strong and know how to fight and to protect the pack. It was his dream to become a worrier and to take on danger. When he spoke of keeping up lessons and practice Lais nodded in a silent promise to his brother. He would also do it to make his mother and father proud of him. His sister Faite was promoted and new rules have been added and finally the meeting came to a close. When his brother finished speaking, his eyes darted to the members who spoke out. Hopefully things would be more active within the pack. He then stood nudged his sister with a grin before trotting off to go see his mother.

Baine flopped onto her haunches down toward the very edge of the group, where most hopefully wouldn't notice her. She was panting hard from the run here, her pale fur completely disheveled. She wished she could have given a better excuse for how late she was, but in reality she had been so dead asleep that she hadn't noticed her brother's call at first. She had been so worried over their mother being ill that it had been keeping her up at night and she hadn't fallen asleep till it was almost morning.

It seemed like she had arrived about half way through Regulus' announcements so she wasn't really sure what was going on and she was barely even awake as it was. She took a moment to catch her breath and shake out her fur so it was laying normally again before she could check back in to the conversation, just in time to hear him talk about the new laws and customs. That was pretty nifty. She liked the idea of the festivals and weddings and stuff. She leaned against a tree that she had sat down next to with a sigh. She was so tired.
