Qualm was rather happy he had an opportunity to move around now. He hadn't ever used his muscles in such a way. Looking and exploring for new herbs was bringing his head to be exercised thoroughly. His large body made it easy to jump from rock to rock, as two different colored eyes would look around the world in a new hindsight. He was enjoying his newfound felt freedom. Sure he had it before, but now he did feel like he was himself! The male's black tail would wiggle for a moment until he sat on top of a rock. Taking in a deep breath - it sure was hot out here. He wondered if the north was feeling the same heat. After all, he was alright with it, but it did affect all that was around them. It meant that some herbs were going to be harder to find. "Talk"

Her life was again thrown for a loop, Myriad had fallen, she had been separated from Max, and now she had grown completely lost. She was fending for herself, but rather poorly. Max had never really given her training in hunting so getting decent meals was rather difficult. Being lost and alone made a large mix of emotions constantly stirring within her mind and leaving her fairly depressed. The hot weather made things much worse, especially with her chocolate pelt. So the young women had stuck with being under the shade all day and moving about at night.

For the day she had settled in the shade of a rather large rock, pressing herself against it's cool surface. She didn't know what she should do or where to even start to find Max again. Should she try to find another pack? Should she wander and try to self teach herself how to survive? So many thoughts and questions and she felt overwhelmed about what she should do. She was alert, yet she hadn't heard the male that was nearby, her green eyes staring at the grass before her as she focused on her thoughts.

It was at that moment that he noticed the girl. His two toned eyes staring over to her. It seemed rather sad, she was having trouble keeping cool by the looks of it. So the male would jump from his rock and approached her. Giving her enough space if she felt nervous at least. "Excuse me do you need some help?" he asked as he stood there. This yearling also had an interested coat pattern to her. Not that he would question it at all. She was alone and normally a yearling was still with their family. "My name is Qualm, I'm a healer so if you need anything I can help. If your hungry too I can catch something." he gestured towards the rocks. They probably had some snakes, which could make good snacks. Gophers as well, why was he being so nice to a stranger? That was a question for another day he supposed. "Talk"

Being lost within her thoughts it was expected that she didn't hear the male approach. When he spoke it ripped her from her thoughts and made her jump slightly. Bright green eyes looked to the male before she shifted sitting up in the shade of the rock. Casting her eyes to the ground, with her ears pricked forward she listened to what the male had to say. He seemed vary nice and he didn't at all seemed to be threatening. He was respecting her space and offering to help her out if she needed. Her stomach twisted with hunger and she looked back to the male's face again. What harm could some help be?

"You could help me hunt?" she asked making sure she had herd him right.

Maybe she could find some wolves to help her out, but she was sure on her own would not work. Max wasn't here so she needed to find someone else who wouldn't mind teaching her the essential things she needed to know to survive. She also wanted to learn the art of healing, but she would also need a teacher.

Qualm watched as it seemed he'd startled her. It became apparent that she understood that he wasn't here to hurt her, so with that he would try and calm himself as well. Her question posed him as odd. Sure she was only a yearling, but by then he knew how to hunt. "In essence yeah." he nodded his head. "I could just grab you a rabbit. Possibly give you some herbs for the road?" shit, he didn't want to leave her alone though. "My name's Qualm - what's yours?" he smiled at the young female. Perhaps this was a new friend. Maybe if it was allowed he could bring her with him. He wasn't sure about getting a bunch of tag a longs but something about leaving this one alone felt a little wrong. "Talk"

Looking to the male again as she offered to catch her a rabbit and give her some herbs for the road. She shifted again, though keeping her gaze on the male. She had no idea what to do with any herbs so what good would they do her right now. Sure the male could explain what to do with them, but would she remember when it came to the point that she needed them? She was way behind on her lessons, life had been chaotic and being lost from her father did not help her at all. The male then introduced himself to her. Did he change his mind about his offer just seconds ago? Should she come out and tell him how helpless she was? "Delaney Callen it's nice to meet you Qualm. Are you a healer since you know about Herbs?" she decided not to disclose how helpless she was yet, maybe some casual conversation first. She was interested, if he was a healer like Max was then he could give her some tips. She had never gotten the chance to go herb hunting with Max, but maybe this male would be up for showing her some things. Her ears perked as she looked around for the herbs he may have on hand. "So uh....... What kinda of herbs do you have on you," "Talk" "Think"

Delaney. Qualm felt an urge of protective nature come over him for a second. He still wanted her to eat, just he had trouble hunting himself because of the fact that he had stiff muscles. The girl seemed quick to mention herbs though. The male would flick his ears for a second, was this yearling.... lost? Not in a sense that she was lost from home, she was without anyone to support her. Qualm knew that feeling, being half an orphan since his mom and dad left when he was a pup. Without a pack too, he couldn't imagine trying to learn certain things. "It's been so hot they're hard to find, but you'll always be able to find poppyseeds and maybe some feverfew if you were to get sick." Qualm thought out loud. "Wait here, I'll catch you some food and bring some herbs and then we can talk more!" he smiled towards her before he vanished. It didn't take long to catch a couple of rats and gather some herbs. Though it may have taken two trips. He laid down in front of the girl though gesturing to her to eat the rats as he pushed feverfew, a leaf with some honey, and poppy seeds in front of him. "Talk"

Her ears listened, taking in what he was telling her. She wanted to learn and to know what exactly these plants did for you. She was about to ask him before he said he was going to go catch her something to eat. Her curiosity was slowly bringing her out of being shy driving her to learn what this male spoke of. She shifted in her spot and waited, listening intently for the return of Qualm. She watched him return twice with a few rats and some plants also and she settled down into a sternal position, pulling the rats closer and beginning to eat. Her eyes looked to the plants before her as she ate, wondering what they would do for her, looking up to Qualm's face she smiled lightly, before swallowing her current mouth full. "So what plants are those and what will they do for me?" she asked. She didn't expect to get a lesson today, but she was more then happy to learn something. She needed to learn this stuff so that she could manage on her own. If this male was willing to stand her questions and was willing to give her a lesson she would gladly absorb what she could from him. "Talk" "Think"

The small lady would ask him what the herbs did and what they were. Qualm would perk up, he was always excited to teach these sorts of things. Maybe if Delaney stuck around he could take care of her. What was one more to the adventure towards Ivory Ridge? "This yellowish flower here, is feverfew." he would saw as he poked at the plant to the left of him. Since it was so hot there weren't too easy to get to, however it was a common plant and herb that he recommended often. "If you have a fever, it can be used to put it down. Also headaches, and arthritis when your joints ache. You chew and eat the leaves off the stems - it's best to do only one or two leaves though. Any higher dose of all herbs can make you sick. It's common, but since the heat they're a tiny bit scarce." Qualm would explain to the strangely marked female. Hoping that with her meal she would feel a little more energized if anything at all. "Talk"

She continued to eat her meal, finishing one rat and moving onto the other. Ears perked she listened to the male, her eyes fallowing to the yellow one that he pointed to. Staring at it she mentally recited what Qualm had said making sure she could memorize what it looks, what it's used for, how common it was, and how it smelled. With the other plants there it was hard to tell what it's scent was. So the female stood, approached and smelled the plant taking it in slowly to remember what it smelled like. Once finished she backed off and settled back down with her second rat, the tip of her tail wagging lightly as she looked back to the male. "And the leaf with the amber looking stuff?" she asked her head cocking to the left slightly while her eyes brightened a bit with the excitement to learn from the male. She found this rather fun and he was a nice male so far, but she wondered if he would be willing for her to tag along for a little and learn some more off of him. "Talk" "Think"

The male would nod his head. Pulling the feverfew back, he then presented the honey on a normal leaf. "Honey, you collect it from bee's. Of course sometimes you can get lucky and they'll have made a new nest so it's easy to get to." he took a tiny bit on his nose, then licked it. Shivering at the sweet taste, he loved honey. He was glad it had so many uses as well. "Honey is sweet it's a treat and can be used for a lot of things. Though mostly it's for sore throats. You can use it to help bind things since it's so sticky. Like everything you eat too much and you'll get a tummy ache." he pushed it forward a little. Nodding his head that she should try some. It kind of surprised him that Delaney hadn't seen honey before. He knew many parents would give it to their pups to calm them.... oh wait he forgot Delaney was a year old. She probably had it a bit rough. "Talk"

She watched as he pulled the feverview back and pushed the leaf coated in honey forward. Her eyes went from it to Qualm as she listened to what he was saying and taking in the information he was giving her. Her tail still wagging happy that she was learning something for a change. He then notion for her to try it and she swallowed her mouthful, inching forward and sniffing it to memorize what it smelled like. Then she took a lick, swirling the sticky goo around in her mouth savoring the sweet taste. It was thick stuff and took a little bit to swallow, but she licked her lips. She enjoyed the taste and smiled happily. She looked back to Qualm and smiled. "That tastes really good!," she said her smile turning to a grin before she took a little more. Her eyes then traveled to the last thing he had brought. They looked like seeds of some sort, but what they did she wasn't sure about. "And the seeds," she asked. "Talk" "Think"

Qualm was happier this way, it was exciting already. He would have enjoyed it if he could continue to do this with her. She needed someone to look after right? Qualm could do that, he wasn't entirely experienced but as of late he'd been gathering so many faces and names. He smiled as she took in the honey laughing lightly. "There's plenty during summer so sometimes I even get it as a treat." he wagged his tail a little and then pushed the poppy seed pods. "These are poppy seed pods, there's millions of tiny seeds in them. Usually half a pod is all that an adult needs - it relieves pain and helps with sleep. Too much can give you an upset stomach. " and that was the last of the three. As he settled himself down he looked at Delaney. "Would you like to come with me Delaney? I'm heading to Fenrir's Maw where I'll be joining a pack my friend made. You could continue to learn under me and you'd have me around to protect you as a mentor." he smiled. "Talk"

Her eyes bright as he spoke again her tail wagging eagerly. She didn't realize that learning could be this fun. Qualm also seemed to be enjoying himself and she found that she really liked his company. She somehow could sense that he was a decent creature, a kind soul. He pushed the seed pods forward and she focused again, her ears taking in his words. Mentally repeating what he had said as she looked at the seeds and gently she sniffed them also. Once finished she settled back and looked to Qualm as he spoke again. Should she really join another pack? Would it fail just like the last one? Without Max she wasn't sure what she should do, but she couldn't survive alone. If Qualm was willing to help her out then there was more of a chance for her survival and more of a chance for her to find her father. So right now at this current time it sounded like the better option. She then smiled at him and shook her head yes. "I would like that vary much" she replied. "Talk" "Think"
