This is the way the wind blows.

It would be easy to just fall off this place. Though if one knew how to fall, they could hit the water just right. These thoughts traveled through his head as he looked over the edge. Sending alarms and adrenaline through his veins. After a good dose of it, he moved away, well away from the cliff edge. A small snort leaving his throat. The heat here, it meant it hadn't rained in forever even more so the ground was dry. He kicked the dust lightly with a paw, interested slightly with how the wolves and the packs were dealing with this. It was why he preferred the north much, but exploring took a toll and he needed it. The large male would flick his tail behind him, oh well it didn't matter much. As long as he concentrated on his own survival at this very moment it would be alright.

She didn't know how she'd gotten so far up in this place, especially given that she was just wandering, but now she had, and it seemed as though she wasn't alone. Faelyn hung back, hoping her coloration would keep her hidden as she kept an eye on the male in the distance, sniffing around the rocks, hoping for any sort of water. It was hopeless, doing so up there, but she was always one to hope.

As she concluded that it was a useless task, she looked up to see that the male had turned away from the edge of the cliff. Had he seen her? Faelyn ducked into some shrubbery, thankful for her small size, peering out at him curiously. She didn't want to initiate a conversation, not certain whether it was safe to approach the male or not. Strangers were always something to be wary of to be sure. She didn't even know if he was part of a pack!

For now, she was just going to continue to peep out at him and see if he'd noticed her, or if he'd picked up on her scent.

Hakon quiet possibly would have ignored the girl. Most days ignoring such a presence. If a wolf wanted to remain hidden - then that was how he would leave it. However her scent filled his nose and the wolf would stop in his tracks. The large brute let his ears flick back, searching for a sound perhaps if he could hear her. After all, the only information his nose gave him was that it was another rogue and a female. Probably around the same age as he was. In this heat, wolves were probably conserving their energy and making sure they had enough supplies. Hakon saw it as an opportunity to perhaps gather some allies. He could always trade in favors for favors.

The male would take a step back, head swiveling to find the scent. She had nestled herself in some shrubbery, done a good job of it as well. If he hadn't been so vigilant she probably would have continued to be hidden. Hakon looked straight towards her, not giving a single sign of submission as he still stood tall. "In search of some water?" he asked simply. Watching her carefully with a wary eye.

Nestled neatly in the bushes, she felt rather confident that she wouldn't be noticed. Too bad she was upwind. As he paused and began to look around she froze, wondering if he'd figure out where she was. It took him several long moments, but he finally managed to do it, turning to look at her directly. Oops, well, that hadn't worked out too well for her given that her goal hadn't been to be seen, but he didn't seem too aggressive right now. Definitely in charge, but not aggressive, so she could work with that.

"Yeah, that'd probably be a good thing," she admitted softly. She hadn't really been intending to get water at that moment, but it was always good to take some if one could find it considering the weather and heat around them. Most would probably be happy about getting caught in a rain storm at this point. "I've been wandering around," she concluded.

Given that he'd already found her, there wasn't any point in hiding in the bushes anymore, so she extricated herself from it, shaking herself off to get any loose leaves or twigs off of her. No point in looking disheveled she thought. Especially not in front of someone she had just met, even though she wasn't big on looking pristine all the time.
