Zeth strained his neck looking up towards the sky as he laid at the base of an oak tree that towered above him. The trees were so intertwined and wrapped together it was almost mesmerizing. His eyes focused on a pair of squirrels that were chasing each other between the branches, they moved rather gracefully, skipping across the bark and leaping from limb to limb. He thought about how challenging it would be to join them. To climb up into the tangled wood and try to keep his balance as he hunted the rodents. His frame might be built for the task, but his feet sure as hell weren't. Zeth was a much more efficient hunter on the ground, taking that skill to the sky might be pushing it. He'd be lucky to stay balanced for more than a few steps, but that didn't deter his curiosity from possibly doing it in the future.

A tree hunter, ha he thought, entertained at the idea of a wolf gliding thought the trees after their prey. It sure would be a sight to see, and he'd have to give props to the one who could do it successfully.

Aki always enjoyed the landscapes that made him feel small. The wide, open tundras of the north made him feel as though his soul was brimming with life, and even here the trees made him feel minuscule under their tall, reaching boughs. He marveled at their height as he wandered through the forest, glad to feel that summer was slowly drawing to a close. He enjoyed winter, despite the fact that it made this terrain less hospitable, and made survival more of a struggle. He moved with ease through the trees, weaving through them with the gait of an aimless wanderer - he had no real goal or endpoint in mind, and seemed at ease with the pace with which he moved.

The scent of a stranger found him, and without hesitating he'd redirect his paws slightly in the creature's direction. A little company was a fine idea this afternoon, though truth be told, he rarely shied away from an opportunity to meet someone new, however short-lived the interaction might prove to be. Large paws carried him quickly to the stranger, stopping a long distance away. It seemed as though he was staring up into the trees, not at all unlike what Aki had been doing not long ago. He barked a friendly, quick greeting, tail swaying lightly. "Good day!" he called out, his voice heavy with a northern accent as he took a few tentative steps forward.
