Gethin groggily blinked open his eyes and a heart beat later he jolted awake - well, at least he thought he was awake. He scrambled up so that he was still laying on his stomach, but his upper half was sitting up so he could look around properly. Where was he? Where was Mercy? His gaze darted around to take in the rocky cave he was laying in. Everything felt so oddly warm... It seemed so familiar, but why? He carefully pulled himself onto his paws, but everything felt odd. It felt like the world wasn't quite solid in a way, like he was swimming a bit as he moved. Was he asleep still? That thought calmed him down a bit. He took in a deep breath to try and steady himself and when he did he caught another wolf's scent. It seemed oddly familiar, just like this cave did. He quickly looked around again till his eyes finally landed on the black, flame marked frame that made all the puzzle pieces fall into place in his head. "Serefina?" he asked after a moment, the name sounding correct as he said it. He started to scold himself for acting so odd in his own dream, but this didn't feel like a dream. At least not like any dream he had been through before. Granted, when he did remember dreams they were usually just painful memories from his past so this was hard to compare to that, it still felt so strangely real, yet not.

It was the easiest thing she had done in her life, dying. It was so easy to just slip away as the little lives she birthed went to someone else. It had been the easiest way out, she hadn't wanted kids in the first place. But when she took her last breath in the world as she knew it, she woke up her. Her wonderfully fiery coat was no longer coated in blood and gods knew what else. She was just as she was before. It was almost like living, except she could bent and mold the landscape around her at will. So of course she created her volcano, that was the only place she had ever felt at home. From there she watched her two little shit heads get into worlds of trouble. But it worried her, how thin Ashelynn was looking and just how much Pheonix didn't care for his sister. And Carletta had let them go, after saying that she would care for them. But she supposed she thought she was doing what was best, the children wanted to know where they came from. It sure as hell wasn't in the cold north, she wasn't living in that kind of shit hole any time soon. The bitter cold and snow, bah. She never wanted that, and now she was warm all the time. It was so simple here; so peaceful. Serefina didn't have to worry about being a mother, but part of her wanted to meet the little spawns. Ashe was a lot more reserved than she had been, it was Pheonix who took the most out of her.

Shaking her head, she cast away the images of her children and stretched out in the cave. She had heard from others that ones you had met while alive as well as family members could visit. She had no idea how to like... summon them or whatever, and was much too chicken shit to ask. But she thought of Gethin, of the male who fathered the two demon spawns. Did he even know that they were his? Probably not, she hadn't told him. She only told her brothers, and now they were gone. She had no idea where everyone took off to, but it was a relief that she hadn't seen them in the plain of the dead. Sighing, her stretched out her toes and was about to try and search for Voltage when she heard her name being called.

Sere's ears twitched on the top of her head, and she looked over to see that Gethin was here. Whoa wait, what? How the hell did he get here? Did she conjure him by thinking about him? He was really here though, acting like he was drunk or something. "You're not dead, I hope dear Gethin," she teased. But he wasn't, he was a touch more ethereal looking than the collection of souls here. "Because there is something I never got to tell you before I died..." she said with a smirk, casually dropping that fun little tid-bit. She didn't give a shit, she was worm food already. "But you're a daddy. You've got two little ones, they just turned a year this season. It is Autumn back home, right?" Poor Gethin, she was treating this whole thing in such a nonchalant way. It was a lot to take in, so she paused as she slowly stood up, taking two steps towards him. He smelled of another woman, which make her chuckle. Moving on so fast, eh? But... she guessed it had been a year already. It hadn't felt anything like that, time meant so little to her now.

Dead? "I hope not as well," he replied to her first statement as he took a couple of steps toward her. He couldn't explain this feeling he had as he moved. The ground didn't feel as solid, almost like the nerves in his paws weren't all quite awake. Slowly his mind was catching up, but it was all still hard to grasp. Suddenly it hit him that if she was asking him if he was dead then... she must be as well? She confirmed this when she spoke of never getting to tell him something before she passed. Before he could ask what it was she broke out with the information, as nonchalant as if she was telling him it was raining. Daddy?!

He stared at her, completely silent and dumbfounded. He remembered Serefina well enough, their one encounter on the volcano had gone well he thought. But, if he was being honest with himself, he hadn't thought of her again since then. That wasn't unusual for him. He didn't often get attached to women he had a little fling with. Mercy was a very rare exception. And now here she was, apparently dead and telling him he had two yearlings running around out there in the world somewhere. He hoped that she could understand why he was a bit sceptical about it all and more than a little dumbstruck. "What happened? I mean... how did you die?" That was easier to think about than the fact that he had kids... Kids that he had never seen or known. Kids that he may never know.
