You're so cynical, Narcissistic Cannibal

It was freeing to be on her own, without the rules and strict limitations placed upon her royal back. Mother had not chased her away, no, the princess proudly left with her bloodied maw held high and her tail erect. It had been a mercy killing to take the blind pup from his mother, the incessant bumping into things had been a horrid scene for Vianni to watch. Pale rose gaze had witnessed enough of the weakling, watching for a month after its eyes opened to see if it would be like the others. She waited, calculated, and knew when to strike. The mother had returned too soon, a variable Vi had not prepared for. Once the alarm had been sounded, the female took a running snap at the heir. With the pup still hanging from her jaws, Vianni made a beeline for the exit. She felt teeth graze the sooty socks on her hind legs, leaving scratches in the soft skin beneath, heard the snarls through snowy, coal capped ears. Dodging over the mother, the young princess clutched the pup tightly between her teeth and ran.

Vianni found a safe place near the forest of her home, where she set about consuming the tender, delicate corpse of a month old pup. It was not long after the newly criminalized femme fatale was done with her meal, burying the bones to keep the scavengers at bay, that the queen of the pack happened upon her blood stained daughter. "What have you done, Vianni?" The shocked expression told the young demon everything about what her mother knew. The stench of wolf blood was on her, and there was a madness lurking in the heir's pink eyes. The queen knew that madness, had escaped it when her mother was queen. It was then, with a deep and profound grief, that the queen lifted the soft silvery gray of her curtains against her daughter. Ivory weapons drawn against the only heir to a kingdom long ruled by their family, what a sad day indeed. Vianni dared not draw fang against her own mother, instead, she opted to leave with her head and dignity in tact. With the entire pack alerted to her crime, Vi raised her tail in true noble fashion and walked away from her birth pack for good.

Not long after that, Vianni wandered for nearly three months, alone and barely surviving. Finding herself lost in the deep woods of some unnamed land, she heard the small peeping of a baby bird. Rounding a large redwood, Vianni was shocked to see a fledging magpie, falling from the higher boughs of the ancient tree. In a rush of tenderness, Vianni is there to catch the little bird before it hit the ground. Gentle jaws cushion the young avian's fall, and find him safely on the ground. Looking up, Vianni sees the black and white female looking down on her pale gray son. Monochrome hackles raise as she bears a fanged threat to the mother bird, how dare she simply cast this bird away. It reminded her of the way her own mother had treated her, and she looked down to the blue eyed scavenger bird. Caw-peep! He mumbled, looking up at her with the beginnings of some kind of syndrome. Picking up the tiny creature, Vianni carried him gently in her mouth and continued to do so until he was simply to large to carry.

She had fed him whatever leftover bits she had, chewing them at first then taking him up to solid pieces. Soon, he grew larger - too large for her to carry. It took him a week to learn, but tossing the young bird in the air seemed to be a good method for teaching. Not long after, he was flying on pale grey and ivory wings and keeping his end of a long established wolf - avian relationship. Corvus, as she came to call him, was very adept at finding dead things. He came to learn what she would leave and what she woud pick at. Her favorites were injured prey, and Corvus had even learned her secret. He took on the hunger as well, since his surrogate mother seemed so partial to the lupine sweets. Searching out wolf corpses that were fresh and mostly untouched. Having come to the coast line, and being able to see across to land, Vianni looks up to Corvus. "Should we swim?" Her pale pink eyes glimmered humorously, earning an incredulous caw from Corvus.

Taking the first steps into frigid water, her avian friend took to the sky and stayed right with her until she reached land. Finding themselves in a new realm from what they were used to, Vi shakes her pelt free of excess water before moving on to trek through the frozen field before her. It seemed a fragile land, made of ice and short grasses. Vianni was a princess made for such a color scheme of grays and white. A small, questing caw? sounded from the bird perched on her back - insecure in such a foreign place - as he teetered back and forth on her spine. Dark, soot booted paws struck the earth with perfect rhythm, her pale pink eyes searching for signs of life, though she refused to let loose any saccharin note from her svelte lips. Would any show their face? "Corvus, search for others." He hesitated, but flew off in search of another wolf, fully prepared to come back and lead Vianni to them.

Asha's life had been a tumultuous event of variables unknown and foreign for her. Sure she'd been on her own before, but ever since the raid... things had felt different for her. She'd only been there for the aftermath, but she was quick to shove her emotions to the side. It was much easier to ignore the conflict within herself rather than face those head on. After all such things were not her strong suit. Still being on her own this time felt less gratifying than it had been when she'd first run into Zephyr. She found herself longing for the old days before her own stupidity had caused Caelum to cast her out. In Asha's mind, her actions had been justifiable. The harm she'd caused the boy had been an accident. She hadn't intended for him to fall in to that river. She still didn't believe it'd been enough to cast her away like some vicious murderer.

The more she thought of the events of the night though the more she wondered what would have happened if she'd been allowed to stay. The night of the attack Zephyr had come to her not long before and she'd learned there was no chance that she'd ever be allowed to return. Apparently her crimes had been harsh enough that she was to be an outcast for life. She still felt a bitter resentment towards Caelum and her ridiculous punishment despite how long it'd been. A part of her pondered if she'd even be dead right now if she'd stayed.

The aftermath had been rather brutal. Bodies had been strewn around and were sickening to look at. What once used to be pack members, had been nothing but lifeless corpses already beginning the process to decaying. She hadn't stuck around to see anything else. She didn't trust that Caelum wouldn't find some way to blame her for it so she'd fled. Where she was going to was still a mystery, but half of the fun was in the journey itself.

She still longed for the familiar company that a pack had brought her. It'd become almost comfortable having the constant presence of others around. Now she was painfully aware of how alone she was. She'd left in search of a new land where she could get a fresh start. The ocean had seemed vast and deadly and yet it took no thought at all for her to begin her swim in the frigid waters. By the time she'd reached the shore she was exhausted, soaked to the bone, and quite chilly.

That had been a day ago.

Now she was only just now finding the energy to go out and hunt. Her stomach screamed for her to find sustenance and so she dragged her lithe frame from her makeshift den. She blinked slowly and stretched out. It was rather chilly, even for the Autumn, and she wondered briefly where she was. Realizing there'd be no one around to tell her she shoved the thought away and gave her sore limbs a good shake before heading off. She had no idea where she was headed, but she was sure it was better than where she'd been before.

Corvus flew on strong wings, searching the plains for life as Vianni requested. He refused to believe she would dare to boss him, but her tone was not one to be argued with. With a short chortle, he was off and looking for wolves. Her reasons were unknown, but he was interested to see what this new place had to offer. Arctic blue eyes scan over the tundra-esque landscape, nearly missing the grey, black pointed female as she wandered across the plain. He watched her for nearly ten minutes before swooping down to get a closer look. Once she and her location were memorized, Corvus could get back to Vi and lead her to the girl. Beating against the air that would hold him back, grey and white wings ferociously tore at the sky in hopes of gaining speed. He had not flown very far, but it was almost a mile before he caught the familiar mask of slate and silver.  The bird knows how to get Vianni's attention without having to crow at her, by swooping down and circling back up again, Corvus does loops and dips to make his surrogate mother look at him. And look she does.

Her sunset gaze landed on his, and her long legs were in motion to catch up with him.  Following her companion, Vi could only tilt her head in curiosity as they took a brisk trot to where the wolf he found had last been. The gray-scale princess only needed a last known location, from there she could track the wolf down if they weren't in plain sight.  Pale gray crown is lifted as they begin to slow, Corvus's excitement for the following interaction was quite evident. Vianni looks up to him in the sky, pink irises widening and thinning as her pupils dilated and contracted, watching his blue eyes as they scanned the tundra. With a rushed caw!, they were off again, following the bird's sight. It didn't take long for Vianni to spot the darker she-wolf. Scenting her from where she was as a wayward, chilly breeze swept toward the monochromatic beauty. Calling out, Vianni takes her adopted son by surprise, her howl a most unexpected thing to him. Catching up to her, Vianni makes sure to keep out of striking distance, a respectable two feet kept between the two wolves.

A smile was given, just before Vi clears her dainty-sounding vocals and opens her maw to speak. She held the voice of an innocent child, her tones light and even friendly sounding as she spoke to this new wolf. "You look just as lost as I am. My bird spotted you and...well, I guess he thought you needed company." Her medium gray tail waved behind her to show a lack of true danger. Vi was new to the land, and simply didn't want to risk starting trouble so soon after getting here. She needed to learn more about the wolves here and what they could do. "I nearly forgot, where are my manners? I am Vianni, and the bird is Corvus. We just kind of...washed up?" A child-like smile graces the face of the killer, and she does her best to keep herself civil.

ooc: Sorry for the wait Bird!

Asha wasn't even aware of the bird flying overheard. They were common creatures that she didn't often pay attention to. Unless it was a ptarmigan she wasn't likely to notice it. Instead she worked on sniffing out a rabbit. The little bastards were well hidden though and all she managed to find was a few mice that she wasn't interested in. Regardless of the fact they wouldn't make a meal, she leaped after them and bounded in the snow scaring the living daylights out of the small creatures. She laughed to herself and eventually left them alone to continue her struggling search for food.

She didn't even notice when the bird had left. Her nose was the ground, inches from the snow, as she sniffed around. It wasn't until she heard approaching paw-steps that she stopped and lifted her head to look behind her. She peered at the woman suspiciously. Was she being followed? She saw the bird now as it swooped overhead and she watched it curiously. Were they.... traveling together? That was such an odd concept to her. She hadn't even seen a wolf keep a pet before.

She watched as the other girl approached and cleared her throat. The suspicious look faded away and she offered a half-hearted smile towards the other woman. She wasn't sure what she wanted, but Asha's curiosity was piqued for the moment. Had the other wolf been a male she probably would have accepted her company more easily, but for now she accepted it as it was.

"You look just as lost as I am. My bird spotted you and...well, I guess he thought you needed company."

She mulled this over. She had to admit she was pretty lost, but she wasn't ready to say that out loud quite yet. She glanced up at the bird again and didn't know how she felt about being spied on by the creature. She would admit she did want some company - even if it was from suspicious looking wolves with strange pets.

"Nice to meet you... both." She added as she glanced back at the bird again. "I'm Asha. I kinda washed up here myself, yesterday." She explained hoping she wasn't here to ask for directions. She was pretty much clueless about this place.

You're so cynical, Narcissistic Cannibal

The other female seemed rather nervous about Vianni's approach, something that Vi took a small hint of pride in. It would seem this wolf was a bit smarter than most, some wolves trusted her right off the rip and Vianni always found those to be boring and tasteless. Where was the fun if her prey had no wit? To others there would be just a hint of madness in her pale rose gaze, one she kept well in check around new places. There was potential in this place, even if the winds were cold and the sky seemed to be forever locked in turmoil. Returning her attention to the ashen wolf before her, Vi lifts her creamy head and nods sympathetically. "We arrived earlier today." As if to try and tell her the tale, Corvus piped up with a string of magpie trills and wing flaps. Vianni lets a little giggle loose from her throat.

How easy it would be to take the smaller wolf as a first taste of this new place. Arrogant, murderous thoughts leech into her mind and shut out the dark female as she contemplated the pros and cons of taking the nervous female on. Deciding it was better to make allies than enemies, Vi smiles and offers up another string of sweet sounding lyrics, "I am rather hungry," Caw! Corvus interjected with a sharp reminder of his existence, stating his hunger rather noisily. "Have you found any good hunting spots in your day of adventuring? Any thoughts on where to get something that would actually fill a wolf up?" Suddenly, the monochrome princess was all bubbles and excitement, though it showed in her voice only. Outwardly, she seemed calm enough.

The female seemed normal enough and yet for some reason she couldn't quite get her muscles to relax. She was calm on the outside and yet she kept a close eye on the other female. Was it just her dislike for her own gender or was there something completely off putting about the other girl? It was hard for Asha to tell. She flicked an ear as she mentioned she'd only just gotten here today and she glanced up at the magpie as it seemed to agree with its own noise. Vianni then giggled and she had to stop her eyes from rolling. She managed to catch herself before her eyeballs did so and instead she managed a slightly pained smile instead.

The giggle makes her seem like an air head... no no, Asha, be nice. She chastised herself in her own mind. No use making enemies right off the bat just cause she couldn't play nice.

She was offered a nice distraction from her own brain when Vi mentioned that she was hungry. Her ears perked up again and at the thought of food her own stomach rumbled again. She looked down at it and wrinkled her nose in an embarrassed manner. The bird was the most off putting thing. She glanced back at it as it cawed again and she still couldn't wrap her head around the idea. She'd never seen anyone with a pet bird before - what was the point?

She didn't get to ask as she was once again distracted by the females bubbly voice. Overall Vi's appearance seemed calm enough but her voice made her hair want to stand on end. She barely avoided cringing before she remembered the question. Hunting spots? She shrugged her shoulders and shook her head.

"No, I haven't gotten a good look around yet. I've smelled some mice and that's about it."
